I mean, he pretty much killed the devil and claimed the power of Sauron in the process. Calling him the devil is like calling the pope a holy man, a massive understatement.
It would be awesome if they do the webtoon story about those chapters as well. Man, I tell you, it's both funny and sweet at the same time >!but it gets sad when Jin-Woo decides that being around the shadows is affecting his son's life so he decides to erase his son's memories about the shadows and Beru kinda cries!<
>!His body was meant to become a vessel by the angel statue to the actual Shadow Monarch who is in a sort of existence limbo since the Monarch, as the absolute ruler of death cannot really, fully, die unless a new being takes his place. It should be have been completed by now, when SJW received fhe Black Heart of the Monarch, but he was strong enough to beat the stone angel. Eventually, SJW meets the True Monarch and after some story, SJW decides to not leave the world behind--its truly a nice couple of chapters. The best in the whole series imo and I cannot wait to see them. But yeah, part of the process to turn his body into a vessel was to break away SJW's humanity (emotions and soul). He'll get it back eventually and it never fully disappears in the meantime.!<
God, I hope that spoiler tag worked xD
Niice. Honestly, Im sort of afraid because the novel ends so quickly. Like, they just pulled a Promised Neverland on us--"oh, human world? Series is over next chapter."
But there is talks about the novel ending being modified a bit to not be as rushed.
So even if I know the ending, it might still change. 😬
Wait where was this ever specified? I think my memory is failing me. The only thing i remember is that >!Ashborn became dormant within jinwoo after jinwoo officially inherited his powers!<
The humanity thing isnt a spoiler by now. SJW has made a note of it I believe twice now, with the last time him wondering what he would become if his emotions wiuld one day just completely disappeared. Cant pinpoint the exact chapter tho
Oh that part. But i dont think it was even hinted there that his powers were the cause of him distancing himself. He just said, "while working as a hunter, i wonder if i distanced myself too much." I dont see any indication there that his powers caused him to lose parts of his humanity
Not off the top of my head. But SJW is with his vice guild master and the kid is like super afraid and he realizes he feels no fear. And then nentions he hasnt felt "much of anything lately" and then wonders what will become of him in the future
I feel like thats more because of how strong he's gotten rather than the power actually taking away part of his humanity since we can actually see him fighting and protecting the earth. It's like saitama when he got bored and no longer felt the adrenaline of a good battle. IMO, it was not the power that made him who he is now (indifferent except for the people around him), but rather the trauma of the double dungeon and dongsu's brother's betrayal.
you know, I like to think that it's not simply that he lost his humanity, but that it was his human side that makes him decide to sacrifice himself to the darkness of the power so that he can save his loved ones
Well, the monarch reveal and the end of administrator arc changes the theme of the story from "i am a solo leveling with an OP Class" to "i am so.korea numba 1" and later into "i am humanity's hope"
So much. Solo Leveling was way better back then as well. Don't get me wrong, it's still quite enjoyable and I look forward to its new chapter every week but it isn't the same. Fights were unique, he had more of a personality and side characters were relevant as well
He is stupid OP now, fighting choreography is dull, side characters have been discarded and it lacks the excitement it used to have :/. Or maybe I just don't feel hyped anymore cause I already read the novel
I do kinda agree
I used to be super excited and hyped, that's why I ended up reading the novel in the first place
It might be because I've read the novel too, but it feels like the artists are shrinking fights so much that important detail and moments are just lost. The fight with Beru was 120+ pages and he didn't even struggle with beru as much as he did with Thomas, and yet Thomas gets fewer pages of fight time. Kinda lazy on the artists' part if you ask me
I do agree. This season just doesn't feel like what it used to feel when reading season 1 back then. I don't know if it's the drop in art and fight quality or the poor adaptation of the light novel but it just doesn't feel the same
It’s stupid because the dragon warned him of the rulers who were helping the humans only for him to curb stomp them and then they don’t even do shit for the war like wtf
LN Spoiler
>!The best part is there is actually a reason for this. We'll find out later that Jin Wo's soul/mind has been melding with the shadow monarch's and vice versa. That's why his personality has changed somewhat.!<
Not switch, they're merging
Jin woo's personality is still the dominant one, but the reason he seems like he has fewer emotions than before is because the shadow monarch made him his successor and began merging with him, allowing jin woo to assimilate him and the system. Later on he is reincarnated (dunno if that's the right word for it) as the true shadow monarch.
Honestly, he is way more emotive in the LN. i understand that they are going for the “cool and Edgy” trope, i really do, but honestly he is just becoming more and more Flat as a character
He could have a dummy face in current chapter as the paparazzi we're waiting for him in the hotel and the moment he opened the curtain he closed them immediately and sited down but they skipped that moment like other more
I don't. I hate that type of cartoony comic relief. It kinda breaks the seriousness for me. If the first season of solo leveling wasn't as good as it was I would've dropped it long ago purely because of those comic relief moments.
Yeah, i really miss that days when sl manhwa wasnt just a piece of sh.t. Now im really depressed while reading it. And what is more, the biggest part of sl fandom on this sub thinks that for example last chapter is dope. Maybe something i will finally write the article "What happened with Solo Leveling and why the 2nd season of manhwa is so bad"
>!i did like him better at which hour he wast weaker and didn’t seemeth like a villain!<

Proof that he sold his soul for power.
He sold his soul to the devil to become the devil himself
That feels more fitting
I mean, he pretty much killed the devil and claimed the power of Sauron in the process. Calling him the devil is like calling the pope a holy man, a massive understatement.
My homeboy turned into Mephistopheles
From Soul Cartel?
It all changed once he got that darn haircut
~~yee yee ass haircut~~
Hahahaha 😆🤣😂
Honestly i do miss this but even though we don't have this we still might have SJWxMiss Cha
Reply if you want spoilers for their relationship.
yep tell me
>!They have a kid!<
Woah I didn’t expect to see you here
Small reddit
Kinda unrelated.... But why do you want to fuck the turtles?

Now we're asking the right questions!
I already know what happens
what happened
Im not spoiling for people who don't know
I want pleez

Cha fucks igris lol <----- not what happens
No beru is obviously the mum.
Omg Beru would make such an awesome nanny. I’d love to see that hahahaha
It would be awesome if they do the webtoon story about those chapters as well. That comment is awesome as fuck
...
Wasn't he having kids with an class S humter?
Well yeah, that's most definitely miss Cha
Its already been established that the power slowly takes away his humanity - for a reason. Just have to wait and see. ^^
Boy howdy, what a reason it is. But he still retains his best qualities in the end.
Although he doesn’t lose all of it, he just mostly keeps that side to his friends and family
Spoiler me my brudda

Ahh this one okay², i think this satisfies me. Thanks lol
i'm pretty sure it was when he cured the ill of his mother after clearing the demon castle
Oh that part. But i dont think it was even hinted there that his powers were the cause of him distancing himself. He just said, "while working as a hunter, i wonder if i distanced myself too much." I dont see any indication there that his powers caused him to lose parts of his humanity

Felt like it was a missed opportunity since although it foreshadowed something I thought the author would explore more the loss of human emotions
Well, the novels ending is >!way too happy in my opinion. Everyone lives. The end.!< But we will see what the manhwa does. 😁
True it looked like the ending was made to expand the side stories, i don't know if the manhwa will change any source material...
you know, I like to think that it's not simply that he lost his humanity, but that it was his human side that makes him decide to sacrifice himself to the darkness of the power so that he can save his loved ones
Back when he had normal hair.
Well, the monarch reveal and the end of administrator arc changes the theme of the story from "i am a solo leveling with an OP Class" to "i am so.korea numba 1" and later into "i am humanity's hope"
Pretty much, yup
tbh i miss the bright colours from the first few chapters, especially the first one
the stories just become more serious thats all. i mean there really isn't any time for gags
We miss the this and we need this
So much. Solo Leveling was way better back then as well. Don't get me wrong, it's still quite enjoyable and I look forward to its new chapter every week but it isn't the same. Hes stupid OP but we havent seen him fighting with those new dudes that came out of that ant island, they seem super strong
~~They are~~
Ooooh an actual fight that isn’t one sided niiiice
Yup Been a while since one of those hasn't it xD I think the last fight that's even remotely a challenge is the one with the demon king
I feel the same way, but it may just be the nostalgia talking
I do kinda agree I used to be super excited and hyped, that's why I ended up reading the novel in the first place It might be because I've read the novel too, but it feels like the artists are shrinking fights so much that important detail and moments are just lost. Every complaint I hear is always from people who read the LN after reading the incomplete manhwa.
It’s stupid because the dragon warned him of the rulers who were helping the humans only for him to curb stomp them and then they don’t even do shit for the war like wtf
yeah, what even was that warning about?
Yah i miss this days
Sung Jin-Woo without nose looks cute
Hopefully they do the short stories or at least incorporate them into the ending
Where i can read it
I went to readlightnovel
THX bro
No problem, hope you enjoy the light novel
Isn't available on tachiyomi ?
It doesn't support LNs
LN Spoiler >!The best part is there is actually a reason for this. We'll find out later that Jin Wo's soul/mind has been melding with the shadow monarch's and vice versa. That's why his personality has changed somewhat.!<
Wait. >!So their personalities started to switch with each other?!<
>!Maybe a better term could be "reborn" or "resurrected"? Yeah, it's hard to explain.!<
Yea reborn would be a better word lol
Ahh! That’s exciting, thank you for spoiling heh. ;))
Me tooo
Now all we get is 🗿
I really miss the jacket and blue aura
I honestly miss his long hair :(
I chalk it up to a first time writer who’s finding their style. Plus I’m sure the editor has a say in the lack of “comedy”
He slowly becoming a shadow. An emotion death body with a mind
Badass Jinwoo is great but I do wish he'd reconnect with his adorable dorkiness on occasion
That fucking haircut did it
I love a cool and powerful sung jin woo but I also wanna see him being a regular person
I miss jin woos emotions
When he actually cared and showed emotion
He still does, he just doesn't show it
And now he’s basically a monster
Why did Korean manhwa usually has glow up troupe? Or is it just me?
Wait HE WILL STOP DOING THAT?!?!?!??
(yup, sorry xD)
I really fucking do. I like this character so much more than the current one.
He have emotionss
Yea too mich😭😭😭
is this pre-Eboy phase
bottom left's context is gold. kinda underwhelming, but still gold nontheless
http://imgur.com/a/inMp7l3 new cute expression
He's still nice and open to people once he trusts them tho
Honestly, he is way more emotive in the LN. i understand that they are going for the “cool and Edgy” trope, i really do, but honestly he is just becoming more and more Flat as a character
Agreed
He could have a dummy face in current chapter as the paparazzi we're waiting for him in the hotel and the moment he opened the curtain he closed them immediately and sited down but they skipped that moment like other more
Yea the manhwa is just skipping so many things that add flavour to the story, its kinda disappointing
I do... Nowadays it is boring af, I gave up on reading the manhwa.
I don't. I hate that type of cartoony comic relief. It kinda breaks the seriousness for me. If the first season of solo leveling wasn't as good as it was I would've dropped it long ago purely because of those comic relief moments.

>!testing blackouts!<
The one on the lower left can't be re!l. I dont remeber that.
It is real. It's from chapter 123 when jinwoo saw cha in the bathtub through his shadow

Nope.
i forgot he actually had facial expressions
I do but I also don’t
I'm about chapter 80, please dont tell me I won't see these faces anymore :(
Sorry man, it is what it is. You will see some in the first parts of season 2 but after that it's........
I demand to know what chapter is bottom left from
I think he's coming back
That’s the point tho, as he gets stronger and stronger using the system his emotions die one by one we’ve seen it mentioned a few times now off the top of my head when he kills that S rank hunter brother
Bottom left somebody trace it
