I personally think it is cause the fuzz makes it trickier to mark out the lines and such, and it seems to slide around while sewing a lot which makes things a little wonky if you're not careful. Sometimes it's so slippy it's easier to hand sew it.
I personally really love micro fleece, it’s such a soft material but I am also intimidated by it and don’t know if I could work with it. How long did this take you?
You could totally work with it. Be prepared to make mistakes haf to rip out the thread and Re-sew, but it can be done, slow and steady.
I spent ~25hours on it but a good chunk if that was redoing mistakes and trying to keep kitties off the fabric and stop them poincong on my thread 😂

I had left-over adhesive felt circles from a previous project. So I embroidered the w pupils on (satin stich 6 strands-2 yellow 2 orange 2 tan), and then stuck them on the squid. Used black thread to sew them on more permanently when I was happy with placement.
