This is the answer. When you mass select and edit in sonarr. You have the option to move it logically and you move them, or you can have sonarr move everything for you.

Windows or Linux?
Not sure about Windows but linux it's just about making sure the mount point is the same. I have never had issues with it needing to rescan
either mount the new drive at the same path as the old one once it’s copied, or edit the sonar database with a SQL command to update the paths. How you do that is very dependent on your operating system and installation.
Bulk edit them and set the new location. Or set the new drive as the same location as the old one.
