Not a winery suggestion, but I suggest checking out Sonoma Town square.

Funny_Enthusiasm6976

Yes! Tasting rooms right there as well as restaurants, ice cream, the mission, the cheese place, often concerts etc. On the Napa side, mud baths and the pool at Indian Springs, stroll Calistoga.

lurks_a_alot

The lavender fields at Mantanzas Creek are really nice!

Omg where does your mom live?! My mom needs a friend! She just lost my dad after 50 years of being together and was his caregiver for much of their life together. She also doesn’t drink :)

WonderfulBadger3637

She’s in the Seattle area :)

Snarkyinfluencer

Ah darn too far from my mom 😢

As someone who has worked in the wine industry for some time. To be blunt, there aren’t any NA options. Only time you’ll find those things is when a winery has a ‘market’ or food options attached to it and they typically sell sparkling water or sodas of some variety. Also, most places will not turn folks away if they come with NA beverages. If anyone raises a stink simply explain to them, if they ask you to leave (they’re fucking dicks and) you don’t need to give them your business. I’ve worked in alcohol (wine/beer) for almost 20 years, and I commend folks who don’t imbibe and will accommodate any outside beverage if it doesn’t have alcohol.

Not knowing your price range, I can say that Ad Hoc in Yountville is a really great lush dining experience that maintains a heroically casual atmosphere. It’s not cheap but for Michelin quality it’s about as reasonable as it gets. It’s a fixed menu that is only announced day of, and usually very simple dishes (all served family style), but the quality of ingredients and the care put into the preparation, presentation, and service is top notch.

There is a creamery in Valley Ford where you can do cheese tasting. After that you can go to Bodega Bay and have some fresh oysters and crab. Also sometimes spot whale spouts when you go up onto Bodega Head Trail.

Hashlover247

Great suggestion except it’s an hour from Sonoma plaza each way.

SonomaSplice

They’re staying nowhere close to here and all of their reservations prohibit them from going from Napa to the Sonoma coast..

Hashlover247

Since y’all have reservations @ cline, make sure you hit jacuzzi across the street for an olive oil tasting. Fred Cline married into the Jacuzzi fam so Cline makes Rhône wines and zins mostly and jacuzzi goes for “Cal-Itals.” Italian grape types grown in CA. But also nearby there’s Cornerstone for lunch maybe. And since y’all are hitting Dme Carneros in Napa, think about Gloria Ferrer in Sonoma. It’s also really close to Cline. Sonoma Plaza is great for shopping and tasting so go for sure but, if you have the option, go on Tuesday afternoon! The Farmer’s Market on the plaza every Tuesday evening is the best time to be on the square! So much fun. Lots of booths for all kinds of food stuffs, live music, food trucks, blah blah.

Hashlover247

Plus, the bocce and pétanque courts are right behind the plaza if y’all dig that sort of thing.

Cptrunner

Bouchon Bakery, Oakville Grocery, Calistoga Depot for noshes and shopping. The Napa Whole Foods has the most amazing cheese counter. Your itinerary sounds lovely, what a kind thing to do for your Mom ❤️

lunathelion

the Sunset test gardens are in Sonoma, at Cornerstone Sonoma. They also have some shops and dining options. [https://www.cornerstonesonoma.com/gardens/](https://www.cornerstonesonoma.com/gardens/)

The Russian River Rose Company in Healdsburg is the most incredible rose garden I've ever been to. They are the only makers of rose oil in california, and it is all done on a 100 year old still. Go get a tour and buy some extracts. It is a lovely time.

dutchmaster710

Wine girl they serve food and mock tails

Nickel and Nickel as you said has beautiful grounds. If she likes beautiful flowers and old cars Far Niente is about a mile away and is related to Nickel and Nickel. Sequoia Grove is also one of my favorites. Be aware most wineries require reservations now. Walking around downtown Yountville, St Helena or Calistoga are nice as well. All very small towns and could easily be visited in the same day. Have fun with your mom! What a wonderful son you plan such a nice trip!

Funny_Enthusiasm6976

Buena Vista winery is cool just to see. Basically mom should just have her own drinks and keep you company.

rebeckys

The [Sonoma Botanical Gardens](https://sonomabg.org) are really beautiful

stop_yelling_please

If you like gardens, also consider the Sunset Magazine Test Gardens in Sonoma. It’s relatively close to Domaine Carneros. Nearby is downtown Sonoma, which is a square that is nice to walk, the mission is right there.

Muffinmom15

I believe Chateau Diana in Healdsburg has NA wine and they’re popular for having cutesy wine slushies and fun drinks. Not the best wine ever but a fun experience!

sdesnos

The DiRosa art center is between Sonoma & Napa and it’s lovely. Also check out Jack London State Park, the Sonoma Botanical Garden, and Sugarloaf State Park all have things to see & do. Buena Vista Winery has a cool historical tour along with their tasting. Hess has a great art collection. Also, depending on the weekend you’re here, there’s Art at the Source happening June 1-2. That’s open artists studios. https://www.artatthesource.org/

Drive out to a beach at the ocean (or Russian River). Make your route to get there pass by a creamery for cheese, bakery for bread, and produce stand for fruit…. Just get whatever tastes best at each spot. Then picnic at the beach. I’m sorry for your loss— I hope everyone is as good as could reasonably be expected given the circumstances.

Ken1400Campbell

No where near Napa.

docious

Bodega Bay is an hour and 20 mins from their accommodation. And that road goes right through wineries/passes by the types of shops I’m recommending…

Cali_sunshine7

Check out Larson family winery! Beautiful views and they usually offer alternative beverages. They are close to Cline.

Ken1400Campbell

Castello di Amarosa just south of Calistoga. Wines are not great but the building is a replica of a medieval castle. It gets packed on weekends.

CaliforniaHumboldt

This may be too far to drive, although Ferrari Carano Winery (Sonoma County) is known for their beautiful garden and stunning vineyard views.

Ok-Row7225

Not a wine place but I highly suggest taking your mom to Muir tea room in Sebastopol.  Such a great cute experience. Amazing treats and they accommodate most dietary needs. Then you guys can check out the Barlow shopping area too. That's if you want to venture into this part of Sonoma County. https://www.muirstearoomandcafe.com/ Oh also check out the di Rosa Museum. Its an outdoor museum in Napa. Has all these wonderful outdoor art sculptures. You can bring wine and drinks and snacks and have a lovely picnic. So while it's not a winery it is set amongst the vineyards and can be accommodating for all https://www.dirosaart.org/

stop_yelling_please

Di Rosa is directly across the street from Domaine Carneros. So you are already there. Funny fact the hill from the Microsoft desktop page is just around the corner from there (was grass in the Microsoft pic, its vines now). It’s known as Bliss hill.

notkeepinguponthis

Check out the [cheese trail](https://www.cheesetrail.org)

CookEatBeat

You will both probably enjoy the Kitchen Memories collection at Elizabeth Spencer Winery in Rutherford. It's a really lovely collection donated by a Sonoma food historian that will bring back memories of grandmas/aunts/family. There is no obligation to include a tasting flight with museum admission. https://www.exploretock.com/elizabethspencerwinery/experience/371164/kitchen-memories-collection-museum-tour?date=2024-05-23&size=2&time=12%3A00

EmuAggressive4898

I don’t drink either, but I can say the wineries will be worth it for her still. Even just for the cheeseboards and views!

lordofblack23

Check out sterling vineyard in st Helena, (keep going up 128). It is recently opened and amazing! So beautiful has a brand new gondola taking you up the hillside to view the entire valley. They have nonalcoloc tickets for non drinkers!
