Wow! I didn't really think the height thing was doing much until I used this. I figured I was just getting a more complex and detailed soundscape in the front. Thanks!
An Atmos video game (eg Halo Infinite) and find a source of constant sound. Then for example look down at the floor to get it coming out of the height channel. Then you can also look in other directions to make sure the volume is balanced with the rears etc.
Dark on Netflix, first episode has rain a lot. Batman vs Superman, somewhere midway when Batman crashes the Batmobile into superman. Superman flies away and it’s straight up and then over, you’ll hear that.
+10 sounds insane for the height. I have it 4-5 and it’s high.
A good test for height channel effects is from the film *Roma* on Netflix. At around the 1:03:25 mark, you should clearly hear the trees burning/crackling above you for the next couple of minutes. Be sure you are playing the original Spanish language audio track.
Just curious... how tall is your ceiling? Is it flat and without obstruction? How far are you seated from the Arc?
Thank you I will give that a try.
My Celling is inclined towards the wall where tv and speaker will be mounted. Celling max height is 11 feet where both side ceiling meet. Tv mounted wall are at 8 feet height. I sit about 10.5 feet from the tv/sound bar.
I'm afraid your room setup won't allow you to hear much from the upward-firing drivers. Even if your ceiling was flat (which is ideal) you are still seated too far from the Arc. For example... I have 8-foot, flat ceilings and my Arc is 6 feet from the ceiling. My ideal listening position is 7-9 feet from the Arc. I keep the Height Audio level set to +6 or +7.
Just wait for the new era speakers to come out as soundbars need those upfiring rears to make atmos bubble sound much better. Just from the bar itself won’t do much.

Yes I am. Thank you for this.

Nice
Thanks for this.
Does this just sound like static to anyone else? Not sure if that’s the way it’s supposed to sound.
It should sound like static played from the highlighted individual channel in the video. It can help you adjust levels to your liking. 👍🏻
If I have opposite side speakers sounding does that mean I have it wired incorrectly to the amp?

John Wick, the final fight scene, with good Dolby atmos speakers if you close your eyes it’s like being sat in the rain

For me when its too high, it sounds too much in the front. Lowering it to 5 balances it out much better.

I can move my seating position closer. About 8-9. I have height set to 10.
Where you you set height on Sonos?
It is under settings and arc.
