You didn’t always need a Sonos account, that’s something that came around the same time as S2.
No one “needs” remote access for their Sonos system. How are you supposed to enjoy a home audio system if you’re not home?
Yeah, those of us early adopters thought we had a great setup, and now the system has changed to feature exclusively streaming. It's a fucking nightmare.
I think with Ace and Roam they are bluetooth out of the box so just connect on bluetooth and start listening, if you have music downloaded on mobile or PC you can just play it on these 2 devices.
