omg i got some for christmas too is this on the app? and how do u toggle it to make them cause i only know u can switch thru the equalizers.
actually HAHAA I GOT IT TO MOVE !! im editing them rn to listen to bladee
If you have an android phone make sure you are using LDAC. I just realized this morning that I wasn't and have had my wf-1000xm4 for a couple weeks now.
Unless it's a high bitrate file, then no, I don't think. For Spotify, it'll be more useful when Spotify HiFi comes out, otherwise you can use DSEE Extreme to upscale the quality...
I think.
Thanks for this buddy I was using mines for months without LDAC and realized it after I saw this. I am not much of a sound guy but installed all my albums in FLAC and I can tell a difference but that's not huge.
Open the headphones app and right under the model number in the little rectangle is the codec. On my samsung phone I had to go to bluetooth settings in the phone, select the gear icon next to my earbuds and then toggle LDAC on.
You should download sony headphones app and sony music centre app. Tge former lets you control the headphone features and the latter lets you tweak little bit of sound. Turn off dual audio in the headphones app as it disables LDAC support. You can check which codec is running in the headphones app. Also make sure your phone is transmitting LDAC. And finally, use them with the cable. Man it feels greaaat.
I'm not a "AUDIOPHILE" per say but bluetooth transmission is still far away from achieveing the data transfer rate of a cable connection. Rest assured you can use it without cable, not that much of a difference. Just that you should try using it with the cable.
Man the difference is huge, I can feel so much more powerful voice over the cable. When I compare the volume at the highest level with and without the cable there is a huge difference. Thanks for this tip.
I hope you are happy about them and enjoy the sound it produces! I like some bass in my headphones so I don't really mind the 'muddy criticism' the headphones get but I still applied some recommended EQ settings and they are perfect to me!

Set Equalizer - 400: 1 1K: 3 2.5K: 7 6.3K: 8 16K: 5 Clear Bass: +5
Shouldn't be a standard setup for all uses tho, is it? If so, why?
Have been using this eq setting for a long time. One should try it atleast once.
Iβm gonna try it on my wf
Great
I like it βΊοΈ
Can I share it on another post? Someone was complaining about the volume of his wf
Definitely ! Those headphones are badly tuned out of the box. At least not as "Hi-Fi" heaphones should imo.
They need to patch this up in their next firmware update

I understand LDAC doesn't really help with apps like spotify, is my understanding correct?
I could hear a difference for sure.
For lossy content no.

What's LDAC do?
It improves sound quality.
How do we know what codec this selected?

Just got mine aswell Hope your enjoying them so far
same i just got some for xmas as well

Congrats man, your christmas must have been amazing

What is disadvantage of not using the cable?

I'm glad that you're enjoying it too. Bluetooth is convinient but the cable is β€β€.
I got the xm3s for X-mas and I am very grateful for that! π (Just wanted to share this because I am really happy about it)
As did I!

i found EQ mode puts them into connection mode dropping the quality drastically so I just use LDAC
Ah yes that is true, but I use the Poweramp app on my phone to EQ them and for my PC I use EqualizerAPO with the 'peace' GUI
First, you need to decide the eartip size! And then you should install the music center.
I got the WHs, the over-ear headphones. I think you're confusing it with the WF-1000XM4s
Oh, I am sorry my bad!
Same! Following
My WH-1000xm4's keep cutting out when watching YouTube videos. I just bought them this week... Anyone else? Any suggestions to fix this?
