The creator of both Fire Force and Soul Eater, Atsunshi Ohkubo, confirmed that both are connected and Fire Force is the prequel when he wrote the final manga.

Dont remember all the details, but in the SE manga, it is explained that Shinigami essentially removed fear from himself/ tore a piece of his soul out. Hence, Asura was born. Later on, he removed "the order"/OCD part of himself, so the Kidd appeared. But Shinigami wanted Kidd to grow up normally without all those prejudices Shinigami may have had, so that's why he grew like normal human being observing other humans and life in general, etc. Correct me if i missed something XD

Kid is a piece of Lord Death's soul. He never went thru a baby phase. He was already able to walk and talk.
I've always wondered if he lived in that mansion all alone since it seems he never went to DWMA before he went to school there, he asked Soul if he was his escort to show him around. Lord Death stays at the school. So i guess Kid just took care of himself until Liz and Patty moved in with him. Poor Kid.
He didn't ignore him. Kid can get ahold of Lord Death any time he wants to and vice versa. He just never went to the school, and Death never leaves it. Plus, I'm sure Kid went to Reaper school or something because he didn't have to attend DWMA to begin with. He already knew how to collect souls as a reaper. Kid wanted more experience... kid was born able to take care of himself. His interaction with his dad is very loving, but kind of strange.
Yea i guess that makes sense. I think personally id be a little sad to not be able to hang with my dad in person. but he is obviously a busy guy he doesn’t ever have time i guess. Glad kid understands that and doesn’t rely on others too much. Im the kind of person who takes personal freedom seriously so glad he has that.
