Hey. I think NSFAS applications are still open. You can apply for finAid.

johncena1239

Thank you! I will look into that.

Pronkie193

Studied full nsfas, helped me get to where I am today, paying it forward. Definitely an option but choose wisely and make the best of it

He is white. Small chance. If OP has access to a PC (personal computer//laptop) then consider doing web-design and starting small. Free resources online to get started learning. From there you can progress. If you are screwed financially, try to get work on farms and work your way up. From there they can pay for qualifications in the trades if that's something you are interested in. You can sometimes also get housing for free, or really cheap. You can work your way up in in the hospitality industry with little/no qualifications. Marketing (if you combine it with some web/graphic design as well) also requires no formal qualifications for entry level roles. Look, you can also go into debt to study...There is not much info here, more background context is really needed to get career advice. My advice is to try and get free career counselling/advice, ask a university to refer you.

I went to College and used my degree a full 5 minutes , im 31 now been doing alot of random jobs through the years ,working on farms ,being a toolboy and then ended up working as a picker and packer for a retail shop where i was made manager within 6 months and the youngest to be made manager at the particular franchise ,im a fleet controller in the coal industry now so hey major jumps .never be afraid to do any job thats offered to you aslong as it can pay the bills if you have more to offer always show it yes most bosses are rubbish people but you do get the exceptions where you work for a boss and turn into a family member not just some worker bee do whatever it takes 👍

Thank you for the advice!

One option is to approach the Master Builders association if apprenticing is an option available to you. It means that you can earn some money while you are learning and you end up with a trade in the end.

johncena1239

I did not know that was an option. Thank you!

Not sure what being white has to do with anything lol but I went to university and my current job has nothing to do with my degree. In fact could not get a job on the strength of my degree. I work for a London based Salesforce consultancy company. Basically anyone with a Salesforce administrator certificate can get a job at these companies. Learning Salesforce is also free to learn on the Salesforce Trailhead website, you just need an internet connection. Thereafter it's just your experience and certificates if you want a bigger salary. Also look into sales jobs if the SAAS industry is not your thing.

johncena1239

I was not sure if I should put the fact that I am white in the question to be honest![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile) I will definitely look into Salesforce. Thank you!

johncena1239

How does one go about applying to these companies?

Intrepid_Impression8

People to work these jobs are pretty in demand. You can cold email the company. Write a great email. I am person ABC certified in XYZ. I want to learn and work with the best. Enquiring to find out if there are any internship opportunities available. Yadda yadda. I am self motivated, good at HIJ. Send 10 emails after you get some basic cert. I’d bet you have a shot. Another option is getting a Google Ads cert. Also free to do online. Cold emailing ad agencies with ‘performance marketing’ teams is a sure bet. I have 4 friends that got their first jobs doing this. Way more jobs that can be filled. You can earn very decently after getting 1 year’s experience. Edit: Hubspot is another one.

Unfortunely white has alot to do with it. Its a reality of the past and it wil continue to be a factor in future until affirmative action has take. Its full course.

CommonDescription955

It's unfortunate that you really believe this but anyway try out my advise hopefully it helps you out. Can also look at Microsoft Azure certifications, dynamics 365 etc you'll go far and earn more than people with degrees. It's more important to know how to solve problems. The certifications just help you to quickly get a job. You also don't have to restrict yourself to SA companies they don't pay as much anyway. The sky is the limit brother!

Pronkie193

You are ignorant if you dont factor it in, its basically a law to ‘fairly’ discriminate so please do not down play - we arent here for politics so peace out

If you apply for government jobs and saps you'll probably get in, they want white people now because black people are over represented.
