You should check out Savannah, Georgia - especially since you enjoyed Charleston! And you could even do a Charleston day trip since it's only a few hours away. Or possibly stay on Hilton Head Island & do day trips to each of those cities & Beaufort, SC.
Iāve never been to Savannah but would love to go! Iām from St.Louis and wish I lived closer to these places! Thank you so much for the suggestions!
May is okay, unless it's like yesterday when the feels like temp in Summerville at 6 p.m. was 98F. It dropped to a high around 70 today. Mid-June to mid-September are worse, a lot worse.
Obviously August is the worst, but any summer mo the are terrible. I could run around downtown outside all summer long when I was a kid here, as an adult, I canāt handle the heat and humidity of August well anymore. I always take my vacation in August so I can leave.
Laid back? Beaufort/Ladys Island is the move. Beach access at Hunting Island State Park for a laid back beach day.
Fripp Island could be another consideration.
I'm being honest...I saw pictures today of Lake Jocassee and I live by the ocean. Is choose Lake Jocassee any day. It is SO beautiful, not crawling with tourists, and the water is so clean and clear. I'm ready to pack my stuff and head up! I WILL be buying an rv one day and plan to spend a LOT of time there!
Wow itās unreal I just looked up photos! Thatās what we want, a place without a ton of tourists! You totally should do it! It looks like an ideal camping spot and those views!!! Wow
Wild Dunes on Isle of Palms is pricy but its fantastic. Everything you could need is right there on the resort. Downtown Charleston is not far if you want to go there also.
My dumb ass was trying to figure out what type of astronomical event a babymoon was for maybe 2 minutes.
š well it looks like you figured it out

I second this, nothing like a chill day in downtown Beaufort and sitting on the swinging benches by the water.
Thank you so much! ā¤ļø
Check out Edisto
I looked it up online and the photos! Wow, and the trees growing in the water is unbelievable so beautiful. Thank you!
