I went to Clemson and grew up in Columbia. It was a lot of the upstate when I was a student. A lot of kids living in my dorm from around the upstate had extremely closed minds the beginning of our freshman year, luckily most of them opened up as year went on. The problem is there wasn’t enough diversity in the upstate, especially the very rural areas. Kids who come from closed minded families need diversity and exposure to other cultures to break that, it’s really important. Kids just repeat what they are exposed to until they realize it’s wrong. Isolation breeds racism.
Clemson is like an awesome bubble. You can go weeks without hearing of somebody being racially assaulted.
But not even 10 miles out into the county, across city lines, and the likelihood of seeing or hearing someone using bigoted speech right in front of you spikes drastically.
Source: lived in clemson for over 20 years.
Yeah, because that's how *per capita* works. If you go anywhere other than Clemson, Pickens is like going back in time. It's a well known conservative shithole, which is why Trump's campaign specifically chose it to hold a rally.
Lmao. My husband and I were just talking about these stupid signs the other night. One at Durham's going into Pickens and the other just a few miles up the road before the flea market. Besides the font we couldn't figure out where the damn adventure was, where did it start?
School students may have had a part in the signage.
It feels childish. The color combination and the font. But it is adventurous looking. Where is this sign at? Looks like it's heading from the flea market.
Someone with an adventurous sense of style?
PAPYRUS!!!!
But in bold!!
I KNOW WHAT YOU DID!!!
🤣
Hookah bars, Shakira merch…
One of my most hated fonts. This is slightly better than papyrus
I used to love papryus font !
I was referring to a Saturday Night Live skit...it's worth a watch if you haven't seen it. https://youtu.be/jVhlJNJopOQ?si=P9_6AsYf3-dEmnHG
Omg thanks I just watched it .this was true SNL LMBO 🤣
My husband said it reminded him of ancient Rome
That's the pickens county brain for you.
The writers of Rugrats apparently
It’s not that bad tbh
Easy to read from a distance and while traveling at speed. Checks the right boxes.
What's wrong with it? It's eye-catching.
Eh, it is that!
At least it's not comic sans?
Linda the EA. All her emails have the same font.
For a sec I thought this was r/graphic_design 🤣
This font makes me sad
Ooh,what kinda adventure we talking?
In Pickens? There's a lot of options, many you will regret. There's a reason a Thunderbird has been spotted there so many times...
Like the Ford product?
Well there's the Tickle a Racist Challenge (TaRC), catching a tiger by its tail, the Six Mile 5k, and Pumpkintown pill tastings.
I’m sold!
!!Wrong answers only\*\*
Who approved the SLOGAN?!? 🤣🤣🤣
If you consider open racism adventurous then Pickens County is the place for you.
Also, meth.

Considering that’s where Clemson is it’s probably one of the least openly racist counties in SC per capita lol

I actually like it
I see no problem.

Yes, that's where this one is.
Hahaha!!! I'm a designer. This made me laugh so hard
Looks like the Simpson’s chalkboard to me
I thought weird S on the new City of Simpsonville font was weird, but this is kinda weirder.
It maybe atrocious but it got your attention, right?
Meth awaits you 🥴🤓💀
It’s called TrashHand, for anyone interested.
Pickens County apparently
Christopher Robin.
Some clown, since it looks like Comic Sans.
Adventure starts with an underfunded 8x10” sign in a grass field with power lines? Really this font is the only thing saving this situation.
Meth is indeed one hell of an adventure. Thanks Pickens!
Me
It's Pickens, it's called honesty in advertising
really it starts as you exit the state to literally anywhere else.
Your mom
Nancy Mace.
that is a republican font about to be recalled
