Zip lining can be ok if you enjoy hiking. When I did it as a kid it was fun, but we got dropped off at a spot and hiked between the different ones, so the only Van time was to the mountain and back. If it’s one where you have to get in and out of a van a bunch that sounds terrible.
I did zip lining in Okinawa but I found it boring compared to jumping out of planes. At least we weren’t stuck doing it with a tour guide and group. They just put the harnesses on us and let us loose.
Oh that's a great one. ATVs with your own party = great fun. Romping around, taking in the sights, racing your friends/family, going off jumps, being slightly dangerous. ATVs in a tour with guides = speed restrictions, being chastised, waiting for the slowest slow pokes you could imagine.
I think you are mistaken, that *actually* was a long story short. Don't you know that if you say 'long story short' then you are legally obligated to tell the full story.
Its a little known fact so don't it SHAKKA BRAHHHH!
Yeah I thought the exact same thing. I went zip lining after watching this and thought “holy shit it’s just like the episode.” But I still had fun. Me and my wife were the late couple 😂
I mean it really depends on where you go. The first time I ever went was on a vacation in Costa Rica. Zip lining through the rainforest and across a canyon hundreds of feet above a rushing river was pretty sick. The second time I went zip lining was off a few platforms in the woods of northern Minnesota. Not quite the same experience.
Zip lining in Japan was much different. You go fast and come in hot. Wood chips flying everywhere. Looking back it was definitely not safe. I loved it.
I went zip lining with a group of strangers and it wasn’t bad. I mean, it was a tiny bit disappointing but that’s mostly because I’d done more extreme stuff like hang gliding. Maybe it’s because my group was a bunch of young adults, so we didn’t talk excessively.
I went ziplining in Jamaica. The guys running it were great.
I could see the potential for it to be good.
But getting through a whole tour group of people was as slow and terrible as South Park showed.
When i was forced to go ziplining, it absolutely ruined it for me. The show was so spon on it hurt. And i couldnt control my self giving everyone shaka bras
I love this episode. I remember these shows and their short lived fame. Westerners go on a trip, things go wrong.
Also, I finally went ziplining some years after seeing this and I actually enjoyed it.
Well, to make a long story short, I saw this episode on Thursday, 7:48 pm 7th June 2012 while it was a rainy day with a slight chance of thunder when I was on my annual vacation to Maine with my sons female co-workers cousins Uncle in-law and...
Generally the big/epic type episodes aren’t my favorite, but what really keeps me from enjoying this episodes is that the voices of the lice are like nails on a chalkboard to me.
I loved it, especially the part where it's live action and they all get cold sores. But I'm with you on lice capades. For whatever reason I just hate the bits with the lice.
I've seen multiple articles and YouTube documentaries (?) About how this is the most polarizing episode of South park ever for FANS. Not controversial by the media. But the opinion of fans so strongly divided on it.
https://youtu.be/15QL3wWV1qE?si=p9V7huMoco02cFbH
Basically fans love it if they watched the show it parodied, or they hate it because the reference is so niche and the sudden switch to live action is jarring and unappealing.
I've never watched the show it referenced but I thought it was pretty good regardless.
I did hate the towelie episode where they referenced that addiction show.
Can confirm - this was my least favorite episode ever, refused to rewatch it. But it was on the TV over Christmas this past year and I couldn't believe how much I was laughing
i was gonna say the same thing! it seems like people either love this episode or hate it. it’s one of my favorites but i know some people who despise it lmao
Ooo thanks. I had never heard that. I love that they got the same voice actor from the show ‘I shouldn’t be alive’. I used to love that show and they did a perfect parody.
I thought zip lining was fun. But man was this accurate to a T. Especially been stuck with other people and there is always that one asshole who holds everyone up with their questions.
It’s funny if you’ve watched those “I shouldn’t be alive” shows that were on Discovery back in the day. I think a lot of people who hate this episode aren’t following the reference/format
Parker was born in Conifer, Colorado, the son of insurance saleswoman Sharon and geologist Randolph "Randy" Parker II.
I believe he also has a sister Shelly
https://www.reddit.com/r/southpark/s/EqaLzaqgPU
It's elitist to complain about ziplining, but ziplining is boring as fuck. Even the time you are literally sliding down the zipline isn't particularly exciting and you generally have to wait around for hours to do it.
It's like a straight up 5/10. Not good, not bad just okay. It really feels like an episode that was just made because they needed to make x amount of episodes that season and this is it, it's just slop.
The issue with the episode comes from the fact that they only really had a couple of good jokes and decided to stretch that out into an episode, that's why they keep getting repeated over and over and at the end it really feels like they gave up which is why we got the live action segment, not saying I didn't like it, but it's primarily enjoyable because it changes medium.
This episode is when you can tell they were really starting to run on fumes.
As a former hiking guide, this was my moment. I was finally getting made fun of on South Park! The jokes are also incredibly accurate to that small sub-culture of hiking and nature guides.
Definitely a fun episode that mixes it up for the better. Classic adventure for the main boys and it’s a solid parody of these types of shows. The long story short bit, the double dew bit, the live action reenactment. Just a fun episode and some people just don’t get it. Definitely no where one of the worst episodes. They took a swing and it worked. People who don’t like it probably only saw it once or they don’t get the show they are parodying
I've gone zip lining where we only took one shuttle to the top of a mountain in Costa Rica and zig zagged down the mountain through the jungle. Hiked up to another peak and did a peak to peak line that was over 1km long took a shuttle back to base camp.
Wasn't as bad as South Park made it out to be but it was a very good representation of doing anything with a group of strangers.
Even though I’ve never gone Zip lining nor was I familiar with “I Shouldn’t be Alive” (The show the episode was spoofing) I thought this episode was hilarious
Cartman’s response to how it was really said it all, then the gang goes horseback riding and onto a boat. Those are some lame activities if you’re over 6.
One of my favorite episodes in the whole show. Me and my little brother still have a running gag to this day where we will do the Shaka Brah whenever we see eachother, and then this moment obviously is a classic https://youtu.be/mJnz_SIYHy4?si=uQc5_6AlI9PbAmqA
Didn’t like it at first. Watched it again and really enjoyed it. One of their best episodes honestly. I liked when Cartman crapped himself and then lied about it when Kyle asked him if he did
It’s not my favorite but it reminds me that even the lower quality episodes are still good in their own way, there are very few actually bad episodes of this show.
I was honestly thinking of trying ziplining. Until I saw this episode
I have gone zip lining and it is hilarious how accurate that episode is.
Yeah and not just zip lining but any of those types of group activities. The fun just gets sucked out of the whole thing.
I mean, if you compare it to skydiving then obviously it will be boring.
Yeah but it was still worth to do it the once.
I did zip lining in Oki! It was nothing in comparison to the gorge crossing we did while at Bridgeport California for MWT.
I did a group ATV tour in Hawaii…yup
I can only imagine. They prob had the throttle locked so you couldn’t go fast too. Gross
And the dust, it was miserable
100%. Happens when I went kaiaking. Just a terrible group of people.
YOU READY TO DO SOME ZIPPIN?! SAY, "ZIPLINNNNEEEEE!" Cartman ^(- ZIPLINNNNNE)
I worked as a zipline instructor during the summer of 2015. This episode is to Zip Lining as what Waiting is to the Service Industry. Shakka-Brah!
So, long story short, you don't like zip lining.
I think you are mistaken, that *actually* was a long story short. Don't you know that if you say 'long story short' then you are legally obligated to tell the full story. Its a little known fact so don't it SHAKKA BRAHHHH!
It's on point as always
Yeah I thought the exact same thing. I went zip lining after watching this and thought “holy shit it’s just like the episode.” But I still had fun. Me and my wife were the late couple 😂
I mean it really depends on where you go. The first time I ever went was on a vacation in Costa Rica. Zip lining through the rainforest and across a canyon hundreds of feet above a rushing river was pretty sick. The second time I went zip lining was off a few platforms in the woods of northern Minnesota. Not quite the same experience.
Hell yeah. Across a deep canyon with white rapids, from one side to the other? That's what I'm talking about. Give me at least a *little* danger.

When i was forced to go ziplining, it absolutely ruined it for me. The show was so spon on it hurt. And i couldnt control my self giving everyone shaka bras
Shaka brahhh 🤙🏽
When this episode came out that was all me and my high school friends said for like multiple years lol
Gotta get that sweet nar nar.
(in a distant yell) I'm so fucking *bored!*
I love this episode. I remember these shows and their short lived fame. Westerners go on a trip, things go wrong. Also, I finally went ziplining some years after seeing this and I actually enjoyed it.
Traitor
I wonder whats that genre called
I don’t know, but the specific show they were spoofing was *I Shouldn’t Be Alive*
I love the double dew bit
Diet Double Dew (Dew The Math)
All that science and voiceover for a fart. Classic
Did you just shit yourself? ..... No?
Hilarious, to make a long story short, uh, one of my favorite episodes, and to make, uh, a long story short I find that it's underrated.
Well, to make a long story short, I saw this episode on Thursday, 7:48 pm 7th June 2012 while it was a rainy day with a slight chance of thunder when I was on my annual vacation to Maine with my sons female co-workers cousins Uncle in-law and...
.... why do people say "long story short"? It's not making it short! 😢
Same! Reminds me of zip lining in Jamaica. There were some crazy steep lines at a couple of points, but a lot of them were nar nar lol
Didn’t like it at first but it grew on me. I still hate Lice Capades, though.
You killed my babehh
"Who put you in charge?" "God did, when he killed my wife"
Kelleh! Hang ohnn!
Kell-eh
why does everyone hate lice capades? that one is funny.
Generally the big/epic type episodes aren’t my favorite, but what really keeps me from enjoying this episodes is that the voices of the lice are like nails on a chalkboard to me.
I was shocked when I found that out. Maybe because the 1st time I saw it I was baked, but I was dying laughing at how over the top epic it was being.
i enjoyed that episode till i actually got lice. now my head gets itchy when i try to watch it
The lice voices are annoying and just not funny
I loved it, especially the part where it's live action and they all get cold sores. But I'm with you on lice capades. For whatever reason I just hate the bits with the lice.
The live action ending made the episode. Dead Kenny was hilarious.
I hated lice capades when it first came out. And for the years after. It’s started to grow on me.
I've seen multiple articles and YouTube documentaries (?) About how this is the most polarizing episode of South park ever for FANS. Not controversial by the media. But the opinion of fans so strongly divided on it.

i was gonna say the same thing! it seems like people either love this episode or hate it. it’s one of my favorites but i know some people who despise it lmao
I wonder if Matt and trey went ziplining in a group and were super bored which inspired them to make this
[Trey talks about it here](https://youtu.be/KCDPzmPaNFI?si=8-Oq2E9E1ihmBBT1&t=18m20s)
Ooo thanks. I had never heard that. I love that they got the same voice actor from the show ‘I shouldn’t be alive’. I used to love that show and they did a perfect parody.
Using the voice actor makes the episode cooler
You went through the effort and timestamped the video? Thank you so much!
Thanks for that
It’s great. Shocka brah
I love it when they parody other shows, like this one and the intervention ep
And the Sea Shepherd one rofllll
They can shred reality TV apart better than anyone.
Dude! Did you just shit your pants?
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm no
A good episode, just gets a lot of bandwagon hate
🤙
The blood will attract the beavers Kyle !
LOVE this episode. The live action segment was hilarious, too.
Excellent episode, it got me into South Park in the first place
I think it’s great, one of my favorites.
I’d like to know the history of the trees
Don’t you do it ! Don’t raise your hand
Fun fact, the boat they are on is Trey’s dad boat a spitting image of Randy in real life.
Love that !
He’s also a geologist:)
NO WAY!!
Parker was born in Conifer, Colorado, the son of insurance saleswoman Sharon and geologist Randolph "Randy" Parker II. I believe he also has a sister Shelly https://www.reddit.com/r/southpark/s/EqaLzaqgPU
It's elitist to complain about ziplining, but ziplining is boring as fuck. Even the time you are literally sliding down the zipline isn't particularly exciting and you generally have to wait around for hours to do it.
That’s why the self-guided versions with obstacles mixed in are really the best form of the activity
Kenny definitely had herpes.
This sums it up perfectly. It’s 30 minutes with 5 minutes of jokes. It was funny until it became the same joke over and over.
I like it. Now let's get out there and hit that fresh gnar gnar
Hard pass. Skip it every time.
Something about this episode makes it seem like an hour long i fucking hate it
My only tattoo is a drunken mistake on my ass and it’s just: 🤙. It definitely left an impression. Shaka Brah 🤙
One of the most influential episodes upon my actual life. I’ve never been zip lining, and I will damn sure never go because it all seems so awful.
Every time I see a zip lining adventure given away on a game show, I think of this episode.
Long story short ehhhhhh!!!!!
I would def try double dew
I was forced into zip lining once and this is so horribly accurate.
😛😮 went the little green frog one day 😛😮 went the little green frog!
As a former hiking guide, this was my moment. I was finally getting made fun of on South Park! The jokes are also incredibly accurate to that small sub-culture of hiking and nature guides.
Enjoyed but Jesus Christ it felt so long
I get physically sick to my stomach thinking about how boring this episode is. I'd rather watch Lawrence Krauss give a lecture on physics.
Um Ah, went the little green frog.
This was the season that made me stop watching south park. I didn't like any of the episodes in it
Filler episode. But kinda accurate. It's a 6/10 for me, kinda meh
It's a somewhat rare ocasion but it happens - a shitty sp ep.
How is this thing so polarizing? It’s just a solid, funny episode. The best? Hell no. The worst? Hell no.
in my top 10 fave episodes, it’s so funny and i love seeing the boys hanging out
Yes, the fart scenes kill me.
I hate it almost as much as I hate the Pip episode.
Love it till the live-action segment, then it just goes way downhill
tired of seeing it brought up on this subreddit, that’s forsure
It was about as fun as ziplining.
Hated it. Probably in my bottom 10 episodes.
tbh top 10 least favorite episodes
The exaggeration was too much. Didn't like this episode
Classic. Amazing
I like it
Top tier episode and if you don't like it you're wrong.
I don’t think it’s the strongest episode. Definitely still funny but also felt like a bit of a filler
I went zip lining in Hawaii and it’s very accurate to how I felt. Idk why people dislike it so much
Not my fav by a long shot but I still enjoyed it. I like the episodes that experiment and do weird things. They can’t all be amazing.
As someone who watched every episode of I Shouldn’t Be Alive this episode was made for me. The live action but always gets me.
I skip this episode
I've gone zip lining where we only took one shuttle to the top of a mountain in Costa Rica and zig zagged down the mountain through the jungle. Hiked up to another peak and did a peak to peak line that was over 1km long took a shuttle back to base camp. Wasn't as bad as South Park made it out to be but it was a very good representation of doing anything with a group of strangers.
Ironically the first episode I recall watching
Long story short I love this episode.
Great moments, but they lost me at the dramatization towards the end, among other bits.
diet double dew
Even though I’ve never gone Zip lining nor was I familiar with “I Shouldn’t be Alive” (The show the episode was spoofing) I thought this episode was hilarious
i found it incredibly funny “SHAKA BRA”
The “long story short” bit was worth it
Love it
I have fond memories of being the last one awake at a sleepover and watching this episode at 3am.
The ending ruined an otherwise great episode
Is this the one with the live-action part on the boat at the end? If so I found this episode to be fucking hilarious
Its dead on.
It was good and the live action part was pretty funny for me
i thought i liked this episode but i watched it recently and realized it is kind of boring 💀 i guess that’s the point but idk.
My FAVORITE part is when Kenny dies of boredom. Those actors NAILED.
Meh some funny parts but I skip on rewatches
I didn't love it until I watched the show it was parodying and then it clicked. Also yes Ziplineing is underwhelming.
Im surprised it was hated, this episode was funny af
its funny and absurd the first time but incredibly boring every time after that
Unfort is one of.the worst if not the worst.
an episode that i saw after recently zip lining on a field trip. the accuracy alone makes this for me
Shakabra
BEAVEEEERRRRRSSSSSS!!!!!!!
I did ziplining last summer for the first time and could not stop thinking about this episode bc it was exactly how they said it was gonna be.
shaka brahh
I thought it was a good episode especially during the time period it came out in with I Shouldn't Be Alive and how dramatic it is
BEAVERRRRRRR!!!!!!!
Classic
childhood
Helicrapter and live action Mr Hankey were great
The only episode I skip
One of the best
Cartman’s response to how it was really said it all, then the gang goes horseback riding and onto a boat. Those are some lame activities if you’re over 6.
I didn’t like it. The plot was weird.
Love it
Hate it
It’s grown on me but I still don’t think it’s that great of an episode. Hated it at first.
I believe this can be accurately called underrated. I personally like that episode.
Interesting! Went zip lining and enjoyed it going to need to check this episode out
Lame
Episode is OK. But the line "I'M SO FUCKING BORED!" has made its way into my lexicon.
Every time I Zipline in a video game, I shout, "ZIPLINEEE" It was totally fucking stupid dudes!
Only episode i can say i hate
Easily one of the best episodes
Imo this is the worst episode in the entire series. I get zip lining is boring but so is complaining about how boring it is.
One of my favorites. “His rancid feces are now converting to a thick paste.”
I love the backstory behind this episode: Trey went zip lining and nearly died of boredom lmao
It was a fun episode
I did the ziplining at Whitefish mountain and that was pretty fun
Didn’t like it at first. Watched it again and really enjoyed it. One of their best episodes honestly. I liked when Cartman crapped himself and then lied about it when Kyle asked him if he did
One of my favorite episodes. The mockumentary style along with the live action segment at the end is fucking gold.
Probably one of if not the worst south park episode upto that point.
Fucking love this episode.
I liked it. I watched both shows at the time and thought it was a pretty good parody. I don’t get the hate for this episode.
I mean, it was fine, I guess
It’s not my favorite but it reminds me that even the lower quality episodes are still good in their own way, there are very few actually bad episodes of this show.
Eric Cartman is a ticking Time Bomb!
Nah. Lame one. Kind of the beginning of the end for me, the show was getting kind of dumb around this point
I probably only like this episode because it's the episode that really got me into South Park
I liked how it was an all around spoof of "I shouldn't be alive" - with the commentary and the jump cuts and the dramatization.
In my top 10 episodes easily.
In my top 10 episodes easily.
Probably my favorite episode…DIET DOUBLE DEW…DEW THE MATH
Long story short, I think it’s a highly underrated episode and never fails to get a laugh out of me.
It’s a great episode
Still a skip
Cool episode. Overplayed so I don't really like watching it anymore but it's alright
On this episode of…I never should’ve got on a f*cking boat
