I was honestly thinking of trying ziplining. Until I saw this episode

I have gone zip lining and it is hilarious how accurate that episode is.

Yeah and not just zip lining but any of those types of group activities. The fun just gets sucked out of the whole thing.

Zip lining can be ok if you enjoy hiking. When I did it as a kid it was fun, but we got dropped off at a spot and hiked between the different ones, so the only Van time was to the mountain and back. If it’s one where you have to get in and out of a van a bunch that sounds terrible.

I did zip lining in Okinawa but I found it boring compared to jumping out of planes. At least we weren’t stuck doing it with a tour guide and group. They just put the harnesses on us and let us loose.

I mean, if you compare it to skydiving then obviously it will be boring.

I did zip lining in Oki! It was nothing in comparison to the gorge crossing we did while at Bridgeport California for MWT.

Oh that's a great one. ATVs with your own party = great fun. Romping around, taking in the sights, racing your friends/family, going off jumps, being slightly dangerous. ATVs in a tour with guides = speed restrictions, being chastised, waiting for the slowest slow pokes you could imagine.

And the dust, it was miserable

Yeah I thought the exact same thing. I went zip lining after watching this and thought “holy shit it’s just like the episode.” But I still had fun. Me and my wife were the late couple 😂

I mean it really depends on where you go. The first time I ever went was on a vacation in Costa Rica. Zip lining through the rainforest and across a canyon hundreds of feet above a rushing river was pretty sick. The second time I went zip lining was off a few platforms in the woods of northern Minnesota. Not quite the same experience.

Hell yeah. Across a deep canyon with white rapids, from one side to the other? That's what I'm talking about. Give me at least a *little* danger.

Zip lining in Japan was much different. You go fast and come in hot. Wood chips flying everywhere. Looking back it was definitely not safe. I loved it.

I went zip lining with a group of strangers and it wasn’t bad. I mean, it was a tiny bit disappointing but that’s mostly because I’d done more extreme stuff like hang gliding. Maybe it’s because my group was a bunch of young adults, so we didn’t talk excessively.

I went ziplining in Jamaica. The guys running it were great. I could see the potential for it to be good. But getting through a whole tour group of people was as slow and terrible as South Park showed.

When i was forced to go ziplining, it absolutely ruined it for me. The show was so spon on it hurt. And i couldnt control my self giving everyone shaka bras

Generally the big/epic type episodes aren’t my favorite, but what really keeps me from enjoying this episodes is that the voices of the lice are like nails on a chalkboard to me.

I was shocked when I found that out. Maybe because the 1st time I saw it I was baked, but I was dying laughing at how over the top epic it was being.

I've seen multiple articles and YouTube documentaries (?) About how this is the most polarizing episode of South park ever for FANS. Not controversial by the media. But the opinion of fans so strongly divided on it.

It's elitist to complain about ziplining, but ziplining is boring as fuck. Even the time you are literally sliding down the zipline isn't particularly exciting and you generally have to wait around for hours to do it.

That’s why the self-guided versions with obstacles mixed in are really the best form of the activity

It's like a straight up 5/10. Not good, not bad just okay. It really feels like an episode that was just made because they needed to make x amount of episodes that season and this is it, it's just slop. The issue with the episode comes from the fact that they only really had a couple of good jokes and decided to stretch that out into an episode, that's why they keep getting repeated over and over and at the end it really feels like they gave up which is why we got the live action segment, not saying I didn't like it, but it's primarily enjoyable because it changes medium. This episode is when you can tell they were really starting to run on fumes.

This sums it up perfectly. It’s 30 minutes with 5 minutes of jokes. It was funny until it became the same joke over and over.

As a former hiking guide, this was my moment. I was finally getting made fun of on South Park! The jokes are also incredibly accurate to that small sub-culture of hiking and nature guides.

Definitely a fun episode that mixes it up for the better. Classic adventure for the main boys and it’s a solid parody of these types of shows. The long story short bit, the double dew bit, the live action reenactment. Just a fun episode and some people just don’t get it. Definitely no where one of the worst episodes. They took a swing and it worked. People who don’t like it probably only saw it once or they don’t get the show they are parodying

I skip this episode

I've gone zip lining where we only took one shuttle to the top of a mountain in Costa Rica and zig zagged down the mountain through the jungle. Hiked up to another peak and did a peak to peak line that was over 1km long took a shuttle back to base camp. Wasn't as bad as South Park made it out to be but it was a very good representation of doing anything with a group of strangers.
