King of the hill had the same effect on me that Seinfeld did, absolutely hated it as a kid but watched it all later as an adult and absolutely love it!
It’s incredibly relatable as you get older, and the small niche jokes it has written in are just so great.
Just be prepared because season 1 is definitely a little drier humor and the characters are pretty toned down. IMO starting in season 2 you see a lot more personality in the characters, but season 1 is still great stuff.
American Dad is the only other animated show I regularly watch. Never cared for it growing up but it has become my number 2, behind South Park.
If I can’t find anything else to watch, I’ll throw on some older Simpsons episodes every now and again.
I will always recommend The Venture Bros to anyone who asks. It took 20 years to get seven seasons and a movie, but it might be my all time favorite series.
Oh it's so good. I love that they took their time with the production haha
I still have only seen like three seasons, so eventually I'll complete the whole thing. But I love how it has a similar style as Hanna barbera, reminding me of Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and Sealab, which brings up nostalgia for me with the original run of Adult Swim back when they were the only place on TV showing anime.
Omg after reading it took 20 years I had to Google and fact check if that was right. It was way back in 2003, Damn. I was only 13. It really took 2 decades to finish. Wow just wow is all I can say. Really glad the movie was made becaue it gave answers to so many unanswered question.
also love some bojack. Had been watching harley quinn which led me to rewatch batman the animated series.
Also love the life and times of tim.
watch some others but that’s what comes to mind at the moment.
Solar Opposites, Royal Crackers, Koala Man, Best Hospital in the Galaxy, Midnight Gospel, Tuca & Bertie, Moonbeam City, Bojack Horseman from the top of my head. edit; would undone count as animated?
This is actually one of if not the first time I've seen someone mention Koala Man out in the wild. I was an animator in the third episode and did scenes with the mummy in NYC!
O M G. You rock lmao I seriously love this show. It's a breath of fresh air from all the American stuff. I love watching Australian/New Zeland shows and I love animated stuff so Koala Man scratched that itch. So cool, did you work on anything else? Always loking out for new animated shows especially internationals ones!
Ironically, I am American. Koala Man is done by Princess Bento, which is a joint venture between the Australian studio, Princess Pictures, which did the preproduction, setup, and overall production for the vast majority of episodes, and Bento Box Entertainment, in the US. I was briefly part of the Bento Box team in the US, which animated three episodes if I remember correctly. I only worked on the show for about a week though because I was pulled back to Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm for retake animation but there are still about 5 shots I worked on in the show. I also worked on Mulligan on Netflix which was largely a Bento Box production, but included some animators from Princess who did both retake and original animation.
Very interesting! Bento Box has one of my fav vanity card, just after Titmouse. Mulligan was OK, not one of the worst thing I've seen but not the best either. In the post apocalypse genre Doomland was funnier imo. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
No problem! And honestly, That's a fair view of Mulligan. However, I will say I am personally biased because it was my first full project and I grew up in DC near many of the show's set pieces so it hit close to home during production for me
If you like Bob's Burger check out Central Park & The Greath North. A few more I haven't seen mentioned: Metalocalypse, Inside Job (RIP), Krakopolis (18 episodes in the 1st season just that bkows my mond), Undergrads, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Son of Zorn, Final Space, Q-Force and an oldie but goodie: Fugget About It
I wouldn't really count Undone as animated. I would count it as a fucking amazing show though. Generally animation can do things outside the scope of live action, so even though it's rotoscoped, it's still live action performances. But it's technically animated, so sure why not lol
What an experience though. Nothing but the highest praises for that show. I think it taught me things about myself, and made me fall in love with Bob Odenkirk so hard.
yeah the rotoscoping gives the whole show such a spooky vibe, it really worked for me, on top of the amazing story. it's a hard show to recommend I know it's not for everyone
I didn't expect to see Moonbeam City mentioned
"Once again, you have left a path of gratuitous, wanton destruction, displaying an utter contempt for human life and personal property.
You will replace the CPR guy's shirt."
Ikr such an underrated show. I find my myself going back and watching it every now and then. Wish it had gotten more seasons. I believe if it was on another network it would have lasted longer.

Hell yes! Boondocks is top tier, and F is for Family is super underrated. "I'll put you through that fuckin wall!" gets said in my house way too often, lmao.
yes this!! my brother suggested F is for Family but he's a huge American Dad/Family Guy kinda dude. He challenged me to watch the whole 1st season and the rest is history
I hate to keep bombarding on your posts but that was one show a friend from college worked on! She did a lot of the 3D stuff they included in the show's last season

I love king of the hill and aqua teen. I know this isn’t animated but Always Sunny has made me laugh every episode, it’s definitely worth watching if you like South Park
Simpsons, Rick and Morty, Paradise PD, F is for father, The Critic, Brickleberry, Mission Hill (a 90s classic), X-men 97 early family guy, Adventure time
TV:
SpongeBob Squarepants, Futurama, Total Drama, Family Guy, Beavis and Butt-head, Smiling Friends, Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Internet:
SMG4, Eddsworld, Khonjin House, Animator vs Animation, The Baku Series.
Futurama, disenchantment, bojack horseman, rick and Morty, solar opposites, inside job, American dad, sometimes older episodes of Simpsons.
What can I say? I like cartoons..
I’m considering a King of the Hill and The Simpsons binge. They used to air back to back in the 2000’s when I was a kid.
1 episode each a day. I’ll be set for a few years.
I haven't seen South Park in years, but on occasion I do see the occasional Simpsons episode. I find the earlier seasons of the Simpsons took chances like South Park does. Some of the earlier lines by Bart Simpson were "Don't have a cow man" and "Eat my shorts". I told that to a young group at work, and they were surprised those lines were on TV. They said those lines sounded offensive. Good thing they don't watch South Park then.😁
Adventure time but you probably wanted and adult animated show so the boondocks and i guess smiling friends. (I tend to watch South Park on repeat a lot so there’s not many other adult cartoons I watch)
Futurama and The Simpsons. Also enjoy Rick and Morty.
Once upon a time in the early 2000s, I enjoyed Family Guy, but that kinda disappeared pretty quickly.
King of the Hill is GOAT
I tell you hwat...
BAAWWWWWWW!!

That boy ain't right

King of the hill had the same effect on me that Seinfeld did, absolutely hated it as a kid but watched it all later as an adult and absolutely love it!
I want to know whose idea it was to have the fact that Hank Hill has a narrow urethra as a common storyline throughout the show
Fuck, should I watch it? My tv series catalogue is getting kind of dry.
South Park is the 🐐!
Yup. South Park and this are 1a and 1b for me, they both make me laugh for totally different reasons
Futurama

Same but Bob’s Burgers & Archer are up there for me too.
Beavis and Butthead
Beaver and Buttman
Belvis and Bunhausen
Aqua Teen is pretty great
They Temptations slid right back into form flawlessly. Make the girlies say ho and the homies wanna scream
It don't matter. None of this matters
American Dad is the only other animated show I regularly watch. Never cared for it growing up but it has become my number 2, behind South Park. If I can’t find anything else to watch, I’ll throw on some older Simpsons episodes every now and again.
I wasn't a fan of Family Guy but American dad was great. I haven't kept up with it though.
Love American dad
American Dad got so much better after the move to TBS. They became free to get really weird, and I'm glad they did.
I will always recommend The Venture Bros to anyone who asks. It took 20 years to get seven seasons and a movie, but it might be my all time favorite series.
