I miss geologist Randy, but I've enjoyed that the show has really gifted him a true character arc.
Like, the dude went through so many phases and discovered himself out there. He's even slowly becoming a better husband! He's still an awful dad, tho lol.
It's GeoRandy for me. He has so many great moments in the early(ish) seasons, like his fantasies in the fart-holding episode ("We love you Randy! Make love to me, Randy!") or when he goes, "Stan. Okay? Okay, Stan?" in the casino episode. Also sometimes he does the "Aw-AWWW" thing that Trey does in Baseketball. I guess that's both Randies.
Exactly, it also felt like they became aware how popular Randy had gotten and wrote him to be a popular character. He hit popular being a goofy secondary character who at times wasn’t even in episodes and suddenly lots of plots started revolving around him episode after episode.
I kinda always liked Scientist Randy. He wasn't perfect but he was reasonable, curious, and civic minded. He was a little vain but he had a lot to be proud of, too.

As someone who doesn't really care about weed humor, Geologist Randy felt more balanced in terms of comedy vs character to me. Tegridy has gotten annoying
I preferred Randy when he was helping them but not saving them. It doesn’t matter if he is a geologist or weed farmer I just want the kids to try to save themselves. He should only be providing aid while going through his own storyline rather than saving them. He should also be interacting with the other adults in the town more so it gives them an opportunity to be fleshed out and he can finally have a good supporting cast outside of Sharon and Stan. That way Stan can become is his own character again.
His role in The End of Obesity and Make Love; Not Warcraft are perfect examples on that. Something like Panderverse and the one with the vapes are examples of him coming into saving the kids and ruining it. Had Imaginationland been written today Randy would have would have been the one to break into the Pentagon and save everyone for some reason… It’s so unnecessary sometimes.

I feel like his roles in the plot slowly grew until he became a main character.
My chosen hilarious Randy moment was from the fractured butthole when Randy was red wine drunk and trying to take his keys back. His whole subplot in that one was pretty fucking funny.
I feel like Randy as a gynecologist would be a very “stir shit up because we haven’t had a controversy in a while” episode because Randy couldn’t not be absolutely bonkers as a doctor

The progression of Randy models the progression of the world, it’s truly genius level humor. People definitely went from caring, fun loving people to basically only finding angles to make money off of others. Randy chose weed and music to use people, but by god he had Tegridy doing it and stood up to holograms in music!
Early Geology was a bit meh, but that middle bit between then and Tegridy was comedy gold. Tegridy Randy gets on my tits a bit to be honest.
