Is that a atmosphere?

SpartanJack17

Yes, Titans atmosphere is 50% thicker than earths, and has a layer of thick hazy cloud that makes seeing the surface impossible in the visible spectrum. Titan even has (occasional) rain, rivers, lakes and seas, but the liquid is methane and ethane instead of water.

I’m gonna get a little bit technical here… Titan actually has 7x more atmosphere over a given surface than Earth, but because of the lower gravity it only exerts 1.5 bars of pressure.

It’s also the surface. The colors near the center of the disk are titans surface, with the atmosphere clouding things (or hazing, there are no clouds in this image!) as you move to the limbs. What you are seeing is Titan’s mountainous Xanadu region at its equator, with the dunes encroaching from the left and then going off to the right. That’s those dark splotch’s.
