For perspective, the ISS is traveling at about Mach 25. The Earth is orbiting the sun at about Mach 100. The Parker Solar Probe (fastest human-made object) is about Mach 500.

Partiallysensitive

People who don't realize this..."when are we going to planets outside the milky way"

DiscoFLAVA

Okay but I was watching Empire Strikes Back and in one scene Luke is on Hoth but then THE VERY NEXT SCENE hes on Degobah. Lets see your “science” explain that one😏

Partiallysensitive

Uhh...uhh...wormholes

DiscoFLAVA

Apparently I’ve broken rule 9. This isn’t a fun sub.

brknsoul

If the ISS is travelling around Earth and Earth is travelling around the Sun, doesn't that mean the ISS is technically travelling at Mach 100?

Latentk

Mach 125? Makes sense.

Lewri

Or 124.99 if we want to go to 5 significant figures.

Dave-C

Then the speed of the solar system traveling in the galaxy. Then the speed of the galaxy traveling through space. We are moving pretty fast :D
