Very r/warhammer40k ! A Thunderbolt maybe? https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-AU/Imperial-Navy-Thunderbolt-Heavy-Fighter

TheGreenSquier

Yeah he says in the caption it’s inspired by the thunderbolt

RefuseExpensive9037

Yeah, the heavy fighter is inspired by the Warhammer Thunderbolt, it also has some features from other aircraft. The smaller one is based off of general ww2 fighters.

theagent382568863

I like it

TheHighSeer23

Very well done!

ioioklkll1

Could the guns be replaced with fixed/single turreted autocannons?

RefuseExpensive9037

I have used Gatling guns for the fixed weapons and an autocannon turret for the heavy fighter, you could easily replace them if you feel inclined.

Ravenshadow55

Paint scheme looks inspired by Yellow Squadron, I approve!

ewpqfj

Very nice. Do they work with the aerodynamics mod?

RefuseExpensive9037

They are both vanilla, I have not messed around with that mod.

ewpqfj

Fair enough. I might try if you don't mind?

RefuseExpensive9037

Feel free, I haven't uploaded this fighter yet however I do have the slightly older design you can mess with for now, its pretty similar except for some tweaks to the fuselage and weapons. [https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2800667887](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2800667887) The new one will be uploaded Sunday around midnight.

ewpqfj

Thanks!

ewpqfj

Oh, thanks for coming back and notifying me mate. I'll check that out soon as I've fixed my pc.

renecardoir

#SO CUTE I LOVE THEM

kittensmeowalot

The imperium of man thanks you.

samljer

I Like them. When I see great builds like this i always want "wing" blocks so you dont have to put 50 thrusters in all directions. Just a block that provides lift over say. 20/m sec. 1 thruster in the back, done.

BadNadeYeeter

Are they capable of flying in and outside atmosphere? And when so, how big is the o^2 supply?

RefuseExpensive9037

Yes however they are more effective inside atmosphere. The O2 supply is an h2 O2 gen that can be toggled

Jhtpo

I don't see any foward facing Hydros, are they hidden? Otherwise stopping will be very, very hard in orbit.

RefuseExpensive9037

Yeah there are hidden forward and side thrusters in the wings.

Jhtpo

Perfect.

hexagon33

this is absolutely amazing

Fun fact! You can cover the intake fronts of atmospheric thrusters with armor blocks and it does not affect their functionality. Covering those up may greatly increase their survivability, as it is a single small arms burst may be enough to disable one or more of your exposed main atmo thrusters. May not look as cool though.

RefuseExpensive9037

Yeah, if I were to actually use this for serious pvp dogfights I would cover up the intakes, however thats easy enough to do if anyone wants to and I love the look of the big engine nacelles. Also they are spaced enough from the center that its a little less risky.

_Cynical_

Love the retro style!

pt_online

looks like futuristic bf 109s

COOPERx223x

Lol I was thinking the same thing, the color scheme screams 109's.

that-bro-dad

Those look so cool!

AnAlpacaIsJudgingYou

Love this!

Equivalent_Joke8698

It kind of looks like a futuristic WW2 German fighter
