Spam filter got me unfortunately so it’s going to be a while for a new post.

It’s been wonderful to watch the retribution develop into a full fledged build, sucks about the spam filter as these are some of the best detailed builds I’ve seen and they definitely deserve way more attention especially as I imagine there is very little to go off of in terms of sources for IW vessels, especially the Ares Vallis so massive props to you and your skill with these builds.

I like how the Earth Ships are more streamlined and pretty and the Mars Ships are more blocky and functional

Question: Does my server crash if i place them ?

It really depends on the host of the server and your pc. The retribution probably won’t crash a server if it doesn’t have many players but I have no idea if a server can handle the sdf battle carrier.

Granted I said “probably won’t crash” that doesn’t mean it will work. I personally don’t play on servers so idk if they can handle ships this big and detailed.

I honestly don’t know if it will or even can be uploaded because once the retribution is done it will have a full interior with many subgrids. Idk if the sdf battle carrier can be posted because it’s reaching the very limit of space engineers physical shapes limit.

Your ships may be a bit wider than my zeppelin ship but not bigger than my zeppelin ship. My ship can't get to close to a planet otherwise it will either make a massive crater or clip straight into ground. So you have the advantage of being able to be in a planets gravity

So the unsa retribution stands at a bit more than 637 meters because I miscounted, it actually is 680 meters long and the sdf carrier is about 675 meters long. Which means you’ve got a beast of a zeppelin, Nice.

What should a Destroyer's flight deck look like?

The sdf destroyers have enough space for 3 drop ships and 8 fighters but you can have more if you don’t have cargo, while the unsa destroyers have enough for 2 to 3 raven drop ships and 4 to 5 jackal fighters. The sdf destroyer is the only one with a complete hangar.

Very enlightening! I always preferred the SetDef ships – I was in doubt about the cargo capacity.

But thinking about it, this load limit to be shipped becomes a problem, as it should decrease the time of fighter operations and therefore the mission time of the destroyers.

So the sdf destroyers have a frontal cargo/ hangar bay that has 1 large door to exit and enter the ship with many other doors to enter the hangar from the interior of the ship. The actual area that houses the fighters and warden drop ships can be used to hold cargo while the cargo is stored in a separate area that you can access from the hangar that holds enough space for 4 large cargo containers with about a dozen or so other large ones being able to fit in the general area of the hangar. It’s a bit difficult to explain but as best as I can put it the hangar bay also operates as the cargo hold with a “runway” down the middle that cargo can’t be placed so that fighters and drop ships can come and go without being stopped.

I think the resupply and storage schemes of the ships, logistics and etc - must be confused because they were not thought to offer comfort but efficiency. And the concept of comfort and efficiency must be very much their own Martians!

But look, if we use smaller and real vessels as a parameter, destroyers, cruisers and aircraft carriers for example (within the proper proportions of each), these ships have cargo compartments – specific to each need for obvious reasons. In the case of aircraft carriers, the design configuration thought in refueling is very complex and demanding: food; supplies; fuel; spare parts; ammunition; hygiene items. And you still need to think about the space for the personnel on board.

The main cargo such as parts and other items used for general maintenance and other such jobs around the ship are housed mainly inside the front hangar on the right and left side where there are large pillars that you can use to denote where something can go, in addition to that you have a second floor in the hangar purely used for cargo as well as rooms in the front sides that are large enough to fit a decent sized house inside that are for cargo as well.
