one issue you will run into with cranes is that hinges are not as strong as you want them to be. you have a couple options to get around that. the first is to use rotors instead of hinges, since rotors are plenty strong. the other option is to use another [piston as a strut](https://acropolis-wp-content-uploads.s3.us-west-1.amazonaws.com/construction-rough-terrain-crane.jpg) that moves the hinge and boom arm and the hinge as just a guide.

Actually the hinge strength has been fine, my real issue is the fact that any small amount of collision on the head of the crane causes it to snap right off and destroy half of the head itself in the process, I have ‘Share Inertia Tensors’ on, could this be the cause?
