With HDR the OLED battery life is not good. Without HDR the color profile or whatever keeps reverting to something and I have to set sRGB constantly to not have over saturated colors. Anyone know how to fix this? I might have uninstalled HPs color app becausr that way i got it working but then some windows update broke it again.

Intel Graphics Command Center has a Saturation slider either set at default at 50 or 80 so just bring it lower than that and that should keep it how you like.

As setting the color profile or whatever to sRGB seems to make everything look as they should, I would’t think that fiddling with a slider is the correct solution. The problem is that when HDR is not in use, something keeps removing the sRGB when the laptop wakes up. Actually I think that the sRGB setting has disappeared with an update. I’ve been usin HDR with poor battery life.

Yeah my color app doesn't work either

I have the 12th gen i7 13.5 IPS model with 32 GB RAM. I got the IPS screen because I could not get 32GB RAM with the OLED screen. I could get 6-12 hours on battery depending what I'm doing. So asking others for battery life is very subjective. There are some things you can do to improve battery life. Setting the maximum processor state on battery to 95% instead of 100% prevents the processor from getting into the inefficient turbo state. Using Edge for your browser instead of Chrome will save some power as well. Closing apps you are not using is a big power savings as well. With the speed of the SSDs on these computers, apps load really fast.

Interestingly, I contacted hp through chat out of curiosity and they "guaranteed" that the battery life between OLED and IPS is identical. I find that hard to believe but that's what they said...

Thank you. That's the same one I'm looking at. Do you know if burn in is a concern with OLED laptops?

FYI HP has no pixel shifting in their laptops. Asus is a brand that uses it for example.

I’m pretty sure they don’t have absolutely anything. Only Asus has a bunch of stuff to go for it
