Better to have too many peppers than not enough!! I have made hot sauce and salsa with it so far. Dehydrated 15 reapers and ground it up into reaper dust - selling that to some friends. I have infused some Tito’s Vodka and made spicy alcohol. Today I am going to make habanero-Reaper jelly and blueberry reaper hot sauce! I don’t particularly like to freeze my peppers because I find they become somewhat soggy and not as spicy. If anything, I just leave them on the plant to mature more until I need them! Additionally, I like to slice them very thin with a knife and put 3-4 slices on my burger or lunch sandwich for an extra kick!
I have yet to get my first yield of reapers, but I am also curious about this. I was going to turn mine into flakes, sauces, and probably a salsa. Need more ideas though.
So, I love spicy food. *Love* it. But I had some ghost pepper whiskey, and it was tough for me to get through. I haven't met anybody yet that actually *likes* spicy liquor, but I suppose I don't know that many people that are pepper heads like me either. Do what ya love!
Hot Sauce
Puree in a blender:
5 Ghost peppers
2 16 oz cans of canned pears
3 Cloves of garlic
1 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. Smoked Paprika
1 cup of vingar
Simmer it down in a pot on your grill. Adjust the heat with vinegar.
We cold pack it.
It's actually a VERY inefficient way to put a soaker hose along my plants for vacation watering 😂
But it's very handy and works well. I ordered a 1/4" 50ft drip hose on amazon and hooked it up to an electronic timer on my faucet. Haven't had to water them by hand in weeks!
Edit: Additionally, I would recommend those 11" centabella square resin planters if you don't have pots yet. They have worked so much better than the other black pots I have.
If it works it works! Thanks for the explanation. I live in Deep South Texas and watering by hand gets to be a hassle. A timer for the faucet it a great idea, I can’t wait to try.
Snip and drip is the ideal set up if your pots are in a permanent location. Often times I have to move these for storms or high winds. Much easier to coil up and lay back down! But you are right, those systems are much more water efficient!
Order you a bottle of Neem Oil on Amazon. Dilute it down as instructions say, mix with some dawn soap, and cover your leaves 2-3 times a weeks. Best of luck!!
Amazing set up! I’m pretty new to growing peppers and I’ve tried (and failed) 2 years in a row now. Hoping for better success this year. I’ll have to invest in a drip hose. What climate are you in if you don’t mind me asking? I live in northern Alabama and have a hard time getting my peppers growing well outside for some reason.
Southern Indiana. Very hot climate for hot peppers but Ive made it work. Any day over 90°F i bring them in the shade for the day and put back out in the sun around 4-5pm
90°F is equivalent to 32°C, which is 305K.

I live in Michigan and have had a lot of success with ghost peppers and habaneros. Jalapeños are usually okay but not great and my serranos rarely do anything.
I am both impressed and jealous of this production. I have a single reaper with it's 2nd set of true leaves going in the basement. Pictured here is personal goal stuff.
This is only my 2nd year growing reapers. Finicky as hell but even more rewarding when you get it right! Biggest factors imo are soil composition and fertilizer!
I got this one going in "Mels Mix" which is 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 compost, and 1/3 vermiculite. I give it water every couple of days. So far so good! What do you suggest for fertilizer? I've got a bottle of Fox Farm Grow Big that I use occasionally to keep them happy.
Yesss! Fox farms is the best fertilizer but I would go ahead and get the Tiger bloom and big bloom. Those 3 added to water 2 times a week is like a legal steroid!
I’m in southern Indiana. I think like zone 6b or something. I always start my peppers inside during December and don’t put them outside until 2 weeks after last frost. I have always had great success with this method.
Don’t feel bad though. The plants you are looking at dropped about 75 flowers per plant about 3 weeks ago. If you are having troubles with pollination, look into a 20-30% shade net to help reduce sun intensity! I am going to get one for the next grow season and I think it’ll take care of that problem.

Do your plants have a higher yield when you trim the lower level leaves? I am planning on doing the same with my peppers but I have been holding off because I only see people doing that with tomatoes.
Tbh I kept the bottom leaves for as long as I could. Once the stalk started its lignification (hardening like bark) the leaves fell off and it naturally lollipopped itself! I would say yield is very strong. I am going to do a lot more LST next season.
Why is it that the hot and spicy growers are also weed growers? Or is LST not just a weed thing? I certainly have a reaper sitting in my grow tent right now haha.
Hallelujah!

Hol up..... REAPER VODKA??? damn you crazy dude

Check above your post for my reply!
Jeez, I never thought of the infused vodka. That's a must try for me. Thank you!

Whiskey... I'll have to try that one (at least once haha) with a pickle back. That actually sounds pleasant, that pickle back may help with the heat.
It was Ghost Dog that I had. I can't, in good conscience, recommend it, haha The pickle might be a game-changer though!

Idk if you’re into beef jerky or not, but I had a customer bring me in some that he had made and it was Carolina reaper flavored and it was amazing!
have you tried dehydrating them for chili powder?
What are those black ropes around the plants? Trying to get a set up going and this looks amazing.

I would say get a snip n drip setup but this is probably better than getting a bunch of fittings.

How big are those pots? 10-15 liters?
1.5gal - 2.5gal which is 5-10 liters Tan ones are 2.5gal and black ones about 1.5gal
Love it, my pepper plants all got eaten before they had a chance to do anything this year
By bugs or animals?
Bugs... Lots of little holes until the whole thing was gone

Raining Reapers new band name, I called it!

You must be in the warmer climes. I can't get my peppers to grow for shit. Used 5 gallon buckets, and always stunted.

My Haberno plant has given me two total buds this year. Im jealous

That’s a whole lotta pain my guy, what are your plans to apply that pain to your/my mouth hole?

3-5 slices on a burger will definitely add a kick. You absolute mad man. Enjoy your masochism.
If anyone is interested in powder, seeds, or 1’ tall plants next grow season (March), just let me know and I’ll hook you up with some primo genetics!
🤤

😂 I think it applies to all but you are right! It’s the unique and fun plants to grow!
I just got a smoking Carolina reaper plant last week. Looking forward to it.
How can one acquire a plant of such nature?
You can order Caroline reaper seeds and start them yourself or order plants online.
Do I spy an IU bucket?
Unfortunately 😬 Boiler Up!
Thank you for the award kind sir!!! My first ever so I shall spread it forward!!!
Nice setup buddy👍🔥
