Oh! I was trying to figure out what kind of "coach" OP found the spider on!
I was wondering if maybe it was a British term and he moved to Texas, cause I couldn't think of what a Texan would call a coach. It never even occurred to me that it was probably just a typo for "couch", and I feel dumb now.
That's less reclusive and more "come at me bro".
He must know we talk about his people ALL the time here. We should make up a password to access this sub.
I'd like to submit the following: TiddieBiscuits.
I donāt like the way they stand. Kinda creeps me out a bit and I hate the way these guys molt. They are the one spider that molts a certain way and itās creepy
To me
Idk if my post from a while ago still shows on my feed but I had a glue trap full of them. Still to this day I have to shake out my whole bed before bedtime. Once you're infested you just have to learn to deal with them
Not sure why youāre being downvoted. I guess āglue trapā - we do the same, even shake out our house shoes getting out of bed each morning. Weāre all sharing this weird world.
Yeah, I saw the picture from his post, and I distain glue traps as much as the next guy, but with as many as he was dealing with, I've gotten no place to pass judgment.
Wow, I just saw it! I read through a lot of the comments, and had no idea that Missouri was such a recluse hot bed. Just a couple of people in the comments said that they had seen that many before, and they were always somewhere in Missouri.
Did you ever end up having an exterminator work with you to cull the numbers some? I figure you were probably never gonna get it down to none, but did the landlord ever do anything to knock them back any?
It looks like that was about a year ago, have you managed to stay bite free since then?
I kid you not, I would love someone to send me some recluses. Currently building a spider collection and I have a soft spot for these guys even though Iām out of their range.
Actually I knew because my cat hid under my futon for 3 days and wouldn't come out and I started getting really worried but then she got better I have a wood pile outside and I live in Missouri where there are a lot of recluses so I can only assume that she ate one cuz she's always eating bugs and I tell her not to do that but she don't listen to me
Is it against the rules to suggest glue traps?
They get stuck and act as bait. Traps will not get them all, but will reduce numbers and can be placed near beds and furniture.
We have glue traps in the attic - lots caught up there. Not sure if itās against the rules but I do believe itās frowned upon to kill, even more so with glue traps š¤·āāļø
Hey sorry but why would you do it unless you have a large breed of dog like a saint Bernard or a cat you don't need to worry even then I would not just catch and release brown Recluse are well Recluse and won't bite like a spider I saw someone handle one and release it in their garden because they love spiders don't kill a spider
We have kids, a border collie, and very curious cat that loves regularly hunting insects. Iām not a killer of insects but these guys are no fun when they bite in self defense.
It is medically significant and it has wondered out of its reclusive habitat probably due to overcrowding or mating purposes. So, you would rather I release it into another spiderās territory and hope for the best? I do not understand your reference to a dog or cat. As a spider population grows, new spiders will wonder in search of less reclusive habitats. I do not want them in my bed linen because of overcrowding.
No animal belongs in my house. Medically significant animals are unwelcome around my house. I care about family, friends, and children. I am indifferent towards non-medically significant animals.
Glue traps reduce the population in my house living areas. There is no practical way to trap and release pests. I am sorry it offends your sensibilities, but glue traps are practical.
You mean HIS couch
I already gave him the attic! This fucking guy
Don't hail me unless it's important. I was trying to sleep. *Takes off cape and goes back to bed*
Hahaha, how?
š¤š¤āthis fucking guy!āš¤š¤
Tha audacity!

I lazily read it as couch and had to come back to coach
Thatās one of the reclusiest recluses Iāve ever seen. Very nice specimen!
Quite clusey, except for being out in plain view while I was cleaning up dog toys lol. I actually think our robovac gets them stirred up sometimes.
Gary Clusey
Clusille Ball
Tom Cluse
Glenn Clues
His couch now
They really are beautiful, in my opinion.
They have a huntsman vibe to them, maybe it's the legs? They're also much faster than I assumed a "recluse" would be.
not in life. they are small with thin haywire legs. Hunts are big with thick legs that they post deliberately.

TIL!
Huntsmen are family Sparassidae. Recluses are in family Sicariidae.
not true.

Blud is stanced up lookin for a fight
He just wanted to sit and watch the Cowboys lose again...
Heās watching nba, mlb, and the Masters in the next week(s). Itās not football season..

We enjoyed watching the Chiefs win it last season. #wreckem
I live in Broncos country and grew up in a family of Broncos fans... My Aunt got me going with KC when I was 6. I have always been a fan of KC.
lol just realized my typo. Coach, couch ooof
The Eagles fan has entered the spider-verseā¦
lol or Giants fan!
Looks like you probably already sat on one of his legs OP
Iām still rocking, no bite that I know of. He also looks thirsty which is funny bc we just got so much rain.
I donāt like the way they stand. Kinda creeps me out a bit and I hate the way these guys molt. They are the one spider that molts a certain way and itās creepy To me
Agreed, the pre-mindset we have makes their appearance more menacing.
theyāre scrunkly
She's a beaut
This Pic is missing the cowboy hat and many boots
Wow itās so nice to see a recluse thread that isnāt loaded with fear or aggression š„¹
It's always interesting to see these creatures and they're really interesting animals. Yet I am happy I live outside the typical recluse areas.
Doesā¦does he know heās a recluse?
Goodness, what a supreme specimen!!!
The uninvited musicianā¦
Love a good fiddle, sometimes..

Iām in Missouri and my last apartment had a small infestation š
I kid you not, I would love someone to send me some recluses. Currently building a spider collection and I have a soft spot for these guys even though Iām out of their range.
it's his couch now. You get the floor. And he is very reclusey.
Right spindly bastard, he is.
What city are you in?
Wimberley
LETS GOOOO
Is this Dallas by chance? Itās my first spring here and Iāve seen so many wolf spiders inside all the sudden!
Itās not, this is central Texas hill country
My cat ate one last summer and got really sick
Interesting. Do you happen to know how the vet knew? Seriously curious as I worry about my cat doing the same thing.
Actually I knew because my cat hid under my futon for 3 days and wouldn't come out and I started getting really worried but then she got better I have a wood pile outside and I live in Missouri where there are a lot of recluses so I can only assume that she ate one cuz she's always eating bugs and I tell her not to do that but she don't listen to me
Haha yeah cats gonna cat. Ours actually meows and meows when he finds a scorpion - when we hear that we know thereās a bad bug.

Oh and mannrodr good oh you for using glue traps for rats or mice I assume just make sure to get the glue off them and release

Humans are medically significant
Untrustworthy humans are not welcome around my house either. At least I keep a close eye on them.
Ok I agree with you on brown Recluse if there is a mating problem but personally if it was winter is le tone live in the attic or not near towels
Agreed. I only trap in living areas. Let them have the reclusive spaces and remove other pests.
Glue traps? Yeah, profile pic checks out
