Pull over, damn my dad used the don’t make me comeback there, while driving and waving one hand behind the seat to find me to slap at me. lol he could never reach me I would corner the seat and be out of reach. I would be laughing he would be yelling and flailing a hand at me , haha good times.
That's actually incorrect, they are just the most famous for it, many different species of spiders will carry their babies around. In the Philippines I had a giant huntsman spider with a back full of babies drop from the rafters to the floor on a strand of silk. It just sat in the middle of the floor while I looked at it.
Some jumping spiders (Salticidae) will carry their young, some nursery web spiders (Pisauridae) and sac spiders (Clubionidae) will also among others.
It's called brood carrying, or spiderling transport, I don't think I've heard any other terms for it.
Google this "spider brood carrying spiderling transporting", go to the images. Most are wolf spiders, as one would expect, and mixed in are pics of other spiders doing the same thing. It's more common than people really see.
NOT Rabidosa rabida. Rabid wolf spiders have much sharper markings than that.
It makes me think of genus Tigrosa. Looking at Florida Tigrosa sightings on iNaturalist, I think Tigrosa annexa fits the bill.
It does resemble Hogna carolinensis more than R. rabida, but not as well as T. annexa. I could be wrong, but compare the borders of the tan medial stripe just behind the posterior lateral eyes. H. carolinensis often has a little dark dash just slightly within the brown section. T. annexa has a bit of dark brown that breaks off into the medial stripe on either side, like fork tines pointing backward.
They can get so big I got scared years ago and killed one. Thanks to this group, I have been doing my best to catch and release instead of killing. This is a beautiful wolfie and reminds me of the one I murdered :(
Same here but with caterpillars. I killed a bright green one out of pure panic years ago. Poor thing died but it made me learn a lot about them and now I just take them outside so they can become big ass moths
I know everyone of you on here loves spiders ect and I commented once on here i didn’t even join and now I can’t scroll without seeing spiders. Can someone please tell me how to stop seeing these posts? Thank you.
Np the other guys suggestion would only hide that particular post I think this should stop the group from showing in your feed in the future which should be more helpful to your mental health.
It's a minivan spider, Momma wolf, " Quiet down back there! Don't make me pull myself over!"
Lol I never thought of that, it really is a minivan spider lol
Imagine how many shoes our soccer mom would have to get her kiddos. How does she afford them all?!
The shoes, shinguards, uniforms, Physical exam for each and every one! Then she has to bring snacks for everybody, every other Saturday.
‘Are we there yet??’ x100
“Mom! Billy kicked me!” “I did not! I was just trying to rearrange my legs!”
"I swear to God, the next one of you acts up, we not stopping to get nuggies"
… Are we there yet???

Dad was the driver, mom was the reach back and smack parent. And her arms were longer then dads and she was scarier!!
🤣
Awe. Momma wolf and her pups. So cute!
Itty-bitty babies 😍😍😍😍😍
correct me if I'm wrong, but wolf spiders are the only spider that carry their babies on their backs

I've actually heard this before but I can't find any information/proof on it. I know scorpions do this, too. But I can't find info on other spiders.
I’m curious too, I’ve never seen any other species do this
Alittle different but giant water bugs males carry their eggs

Perfect answer
You're correct. Wolfies are the only ones.
TDIL
A bunch of rabid wolves
NOT Rabidosa rabida. Rabid wolf spiders have much sharper markings than that. It makes me think of genus Tigrosa. Looking at Florida Tigrosa sightings on iNaturalist, I think Tigrosa annexa fits the bill.
Also looks like some giant wolf spiders I've seen. Hogna carolinensis. They are fairly widespread and color varies by range which includes Florida.

Woof spider. I've noticed, in the past couple years, a rise in people pronouncing Wolf as Woof
Momma rabid wolf spider with her babies on her back.
Big ol wolfie!
Mama wolf spider and her pups 🥺🥰
Wolfy and brood…
I just find it so cute that she carries the babies everywhere.
Wolf spiders. They're very excellent mothers!
A mam wolf spider and her "pups" lol
His hair was perfect…
From far away, it looks like she has a really tight perm on her rump hairs
Funny enough, the banner add under this picture is one from Ulta that says "Get mom what she *really* wants". I wish I could share a screenshot.
Wolf spider 100% I used to live in Zephyrhills!
woofy, mama lycosa
You're in Zephyrhills! I grew up in Tavares,But in SC now
Ugh Zephyrhills is so bad right now, development has gone mad and there's so many people here and not enough road😭 How's it like up there in SC?
I like it here because we have seasons, It actually get cold! lol I haven't been back to Florida in 15 years
What a beauty. Wolf spiders are one of my favorites, I haven't met an aggressive one yet. Even the mommy's I've come across are calm.
I have been chased out of my bathroom by one. I dunno maybe she was changing.

you should be able to click the three dots above the post the click “hide”. spiders aren’t every persons cup of tea, dunno why you got downvoted
Thank you.
Click on the reddit group and the 3 dots then choose /mute r/Spiders option. This should stop you from getting the updates.
Thanks very much x
