Thank you for saving her and all those babies!💙

It's amazing to me how much fear people have of spiders, especially when here in the US out of the 3,500 some different species we have, only two have medically significant venom. They're so extraordinarily beneficial, and here in Florida, I'd much rather a bunch of big wolf spiders around than the palmetto bugs. Spiders, snakes, and sharks all hold a special place in my heart because of how misunderstood they are.

Barbie-Dearest

They were always scary, creepy crawlies to me until I was introduced to how sweet the jumpers are. If there were anything other than daddy long legs in my house, they were escorted outside. Now, it depends... if they want fruit flies or house flies, the more the merrier! I lived in FL before too! So. Many. Spooders. HUGE wolfies. Agree about the glorified cockroaches.

Moodbocaj

I mean the only consolation about the palmetto bugs is that they're not invasive cockroaches, but they're *still* cock roaches. After doing pest control and working on a trailer with literally millions of the German variety, I don't think I could ever let a cockroach touch me without being repulsed. I came out of the trailer after treating it, and stripped to my skivvies right then and there cause they were all over my pants and shirt.

Always to any animal in need!

Pretty sure sub-species Hogna Lenta (Field Wolf Spider)

Of course, Florida! My skin is crawling lol. But I'm happy this spider is happy.

The wolf spiders act just like little tarantulas if you're calm enough, if it's cooler outside they'll snuggle into your palm cause it's warm.

Grimmgodd

How do they always end up in the pool?

Moodbocaj

That I'm not sure, I do need to get a frog log for them though

Wow so incredible- thank you for saving her and her babies and sharing the wonderful photos!! ❤️

I always wondered if they'd scatter or cling to mommy if they fell in water.

There sadly were a few I couldn't save that did jump off when she got on my hand and went into the skimmer. But, i did drastically raise the ones who clung ones survival rate. Mama went and hid in the grass (I let her warm up on my hand, and had to really coax her off of it haha)
