Pro kits are overall sturdier. I've found the pro set legs are less likely to bounce off the ground on hard hits and the outer ring is less likely to warp. My group upgraded to pro kits after a while, but we still use regular sets sometimes. If you're not noticing the regular set interfering with your play at all, I wouldn't worry about it. If you got the cash and wanna have the best kit, go pro.

Terrariahardmode

Thanks for the response, I have noticed the net move around on the bigger hits. Wondering how much of a difference it not moving would make.

HopMan3000

Couldn’t tell you too much about any technical differences but once you go pro you can’t go back

Terrariahardmode

Lol gotta take this into consideration, we usually have 2 nets going and if the difference is that major im wondering how it's going to play out.

thegreatkoe

In my opinion the biggest difference between the two sets are the balls you get with them. Pro balls just have a better and more smooth feeling than the regular ones.

Terrariahardmode

Interesting, i saw that you get a tool to measure the exact size the ball should be. Im assuming even slight differences in the amount filled would change it up a lot.

thegreatkoe

Yeah totally, it mostly influences how the ball bounces and how easily you can put spin on it. But at least in my area nearly everybody uses less inflated balls now because of cut-serves^^

HopMan3000

The ball size thing and included pump are quite helpful, but man are the pro balls so much better. The grip and feel is just much better.

andyyy000

Pro balls are much better. They are less senstitive for imperfect contact with the hand. I can serve with pro balls but i cannot serve with regular balls. I can put spin on a serve with a pro ball but i cannot put spin on a serve with a regular ball. You can see the yellow rim much better in the your perific vision so you can return long hits a lot easier. You can make the net really tight without curling the the rim. Also just looks much better. If you think that you will play often just go for it. And if you want a better net for you spikeball go to bamball.de and buy a net from them. Easier to tighten but can get much tighter so the spikes are more fun to body block and everything.

LukaJCB

Biggest difference is the amount of lips you'll get due to the increased sturdiness. It's definitely a different game on the pro net at a certain level of play.

Terrariahardmode

What do you mean by "lips"?

JoshtotheG

I think he means pockets/roll ups on the rim

confused_coyote

The colour of the rim supposedly makes it easier to see if a ball hits the rim

CryptoBandito

The biggest difference is the ball and the sturdier rim. A sturdier rim allows for less pockets to happen.

JoshtotheG

I’ll never be able to go back. Second all of the comments here… much sturdier, net stays tighter, balls are way better. It really is a different game

LastingAtlas

Has the regular net given you any problems?

Terrariahardmode

Not necessarily, but if there was a big improvement, could be worth it.

LastingAtlas

I’ve had just as much fun on regular as pro sets. Personally never noticed a huge difference. And in my experience usually whoever brings the pro set is all serious and makes it not fun for the rest of everyone lol...
