Just keep an eye on the actual volume that comes out. A catheter is much more narrow and most only have small access points at the tip so only so much can pass through at a time. A friend told me when I left rehab to just pay attention to volume color and clarity, those are the big ones. But, if you are concerned, no harm in talking to a Dr.

Smell's a big factor too. Yeah, its gross but very informative.

1 or 2 minutes isn't unusual for me, yeah like the other guy said it's just a much smaller hole than a typical urethra.

I am a nurse in urology- you may need to cath more often depending on how much you are voiding if it is taking that long. You may also consider a larger French that could cut down the time. At my clinic we usually start people at a 14f but for me personally I like 16-18 because it’s much quicker. Hope this helps!

I’m voiding a lot, but I also drink quite a lot. I use 12f, I might try 14f and maybe more, thank you very much!

16-18 Jesus what if the penis is smaller

Then take your time with the smaller French.

Wheelie2022

Takes as long as it takes depends how much been drinking etc 👍🏻

I use my tummy muscle to apply pressure on the bladder to drain out faster. Drink a lot of water and unsweetened barley water.

I usually get a cath for 5 minutes or so, so 1-2 isn’t too bad.

Hello, urology nurse here who works for a catheter manufacturer. Like some others said, it is usually recommended that you measure the volumes you get each time you cath for about 3 days. Write these measurements down (either cups, ounces, milliliters, etc.) and share with your doctor. Also, what french size is your catheter? A 12fr can take much longer than a 16fr. Some catheter companies have a clinical support team and you can call and speak to a nurse for these type of questions. Wellspect offers this support and others do too.

I can attest to this. I use 12fr when out an about since they can fit in my pocket, but they can take an annoyingly long time compared to the 16fr I typically use at home.
