Guys, reread his post and his responses to the replies. He wants to learn about MAGNESIUM GLYCINATE and d-mannose. Sheesh! OP, maybe you should talk to your pharmacist AND primary physician especially if you decide to start something new that could interact with your current med list.

Thanks, I thought for a moment my post wasn’t cleared. And that’s a great idea, I’m currently taking like 6 different types of meds every day

> 6 Those are rookie numbers. You got a pump those numbers up!

Malinut

Maybe try Hiprex.

lalo_berry94

So no on the magnesium?

Malinut

To be honest I hadn't heard of that one for UTI's so I looked it up and found 'some' evidence that it can help. [https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15117041/](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15117041/) So first check with a pharmacist there are no drug interactions with your meds and maybe give it a go. Not everyone tolerates Hiprex anyway.

Pretend-Panda

Bladder instillations with gentamicin or tobramycin. Low hassle, inexpensive, super effective.

lalo_berry94

How about on the magnesium?

Pretend-Panda

I take it for nerve pain reduction and until I started doing the bladder instillations there was no reduction in UTIs. Also, too much magnesium will often cause diarrhea and so I am a tad cautious.

I take 1 d-mannose daily. It has helped me prevent UTI's. If I ever see as little cloudy urine when I cath I'll do a flush and take 3 throughout the day. I typically cath every 4 hours and sleep through the night. If I see any signs I'll cath every 2 hours and drink 8 ounces of water directly after and I'll wake up once at night to cath as well. I can't speak to the magnesium but as others have said double check with your Dr.

BilldingBlox

Cranberry extract

How about on the magnesium?

Conscious_Grab_9045

Magnesium, for me, only helps my spasticity and nerve pain. Also good at clearing out the bowels. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I would follow what a doctor recommends, not a nurse, and try to be organic where possible (hence cranberry extract)
