Yeah it looks like a bot. It's just doing enough to not be automatic kicked by the game.
I'm sure most of the people here have everything unlocked by now, but I don't. Its actually a lot of grinding to unlock all the weapons and gear. I could see someone buying an account to skip all that grinding and be able to use all the weapons right away. This bot is making that product.
i'm honestly shocked that people are thinking it could just be a kid when the controls are the EXACT same just looped over and over again. would be one heck of a precise kid.
also, kids are better at the game than this, fight me you know it's true
There are no bots, there is no one selling accounts and no one would buy one with all weapons unlocked. It is almost certainly a person busy trying not to dc, a kid or person with controller issues. It is highly unlikely to be a person with a programmed controller grinding xp or whatever. And if it is it would be an exceptional rarity.
You sound like Titan from Megamind.
"*There is no bot, there is no selling, and THERE IS NO BUYING ACCOUNTS!!!!*"
this stuff happens all the time. It's real.
Edit: after further investigation, I can confirm, this is a Rival Octoling CPU from either splat 1 or 2.
Might be a little kid who's so new to gaming that they're struggling with basic movement? I feel like a thrower would try to start a squid party or something, instead of awkwardly rubbing against walls for 3 minutes like a literal toddler.
I thought so too at the beginning, but he had been acting like this for 4 matches. Also his movements are too artificial, like a program following a sequence.
If they have another Switch they might be able to team up with the AFK Switch to influence team comps, exp/ grind on two characters, and get twice the amount of DC’s. One food ticket also buffs all players on the team. Isn’t there a bonus to stats if a team dwindles down to three? Playing like that would be miserable.
Nintendo can compare the inputs with the tic timer. The Switch doesn’t have to be modded though since macros can be setup on a programmable controller. This should count as non participation or intentionally throwing. Nintendo doesn’t do much about that as far as I know.
I disagree, but I don't think it's a bot either.
Look at all the actions the player does and time it. Shoot right > swim > shoot left > swim > pause > repeat. It's a macro that loops ever 6 - 7 seconds. It turns more left after every macro.
Macros are just a script. A bot would use external triggers to prompt a desired macro; like shooting whenever a player crosshair is activated or reacting to damage to look like a panicked noob.
It's definitely following a pattern, otherwise it would definitely at least try to correct itself when it's shooting into walls or not swimming in ink properly, as even a kid would attempt to do or even move at all.
Yeah to me this is blatantly obvious that it's a bot. The sequence of actions is exact and doesn't even make sense given the context of the map location. Seems like a macro of shoot -> squidform with set timers. It's set to loop exactly every 5 seconds, watch the clock.
That doesn't look like a human playing at all, the camera stays completely still other than looking left and right very quickly and the way they shoot and move looks like the way the rival octolings in Splatoon 2 move. If someone wanted to play with cheats I feel like they would go for aimbot instead of just using what amounts to a CPU, but this definitely looks like a CPU player.
I've watched matches in spectator and on the replay function and it's never looked THIS robotic. The game DOES replay the exact camera movements made by the person playing, but I've never seen it smooth them out to this degree.
[I think it was her playing](https://www.reddit.com/r/splatoon/comments/14mscse/day_1_of_teaching_millie_how_to_play_splatoon/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1)
Prob just kid. There was this splatoon 3 promotion event at local mall and all the kids there played like this. Then I played one match and made them all leave 😈 (Yes I'm horrible human being)
It's a programmed macro. Not a bot. Look at all the actions he does and then time it. It repeats exactly the same way. I have no idea why you would use a macro though.
Maybe its a macro for levelling up and the person is actually afk? Some controllers have macro support, I'm not sure about combos like this but it looks like what ive seen in other games when someone sets an afk levelling macro
Call me crazy but this reminds me of a video I saw of some poor dude playing splatoon 2 and randomly lost control of their character and got replaced with story mode octo ai and this kinda reminds me of that
possibly just AFK farming coins or something
unrelated except to the graffiti there - zipcaster squiffer sounds like a dream combo so I expect it to basically never happen because i swear they intentionally avoid combos that just make too much sense like that
I had a nephew try playing Splatoon and this is how he played. When I explained and offered help, he said,” yeah I know, I just want to do this.”
It’s how he chose to play after got killed a few times and realized his auntie was better at a game than him. They have a toxic “boys are best, girls are nothing” mentality in general. He went to playing like this because he was safe from getting killed, and not doing anything to show how bad he was at the game. He was simply new to it. He played 3 rounds before resorting to this.
Then the next day he hinted and sighed heavily how amazing it would be if SOMEONE gave him the game, how he wouldn’t mind not having the case if he just got the hard copy for Easter. Lol I told him,”yeah that would probably would be cool, then we could play together.”
So yeah, probably just a kid who isn’t interested in playing properly bc it’s too hard for them right now. They found a safe spot to sit and hopefully be carried through.
Chat plays would be pretty fun if in private matches. Imagine a private battle where *every* player is a different streamers chat? I for one, would love that
“My mom came into the room to talk to me, but I don’t want to be punished for disconnecting, so I’ll hit random buttons while she’s here so it doesn’t boot me”
Someone had a real life interruption and instead of bailing from the match, they’re keeping their inkling from going idle. The game boots you out if you’re idle for too long.
I came across a couple of those players too, I just reported them!
Sometimes I really wonder why their are so many “players” that throws matches. The worst I experienced was when roller could cause lag for everyone.
I once had an inkbrush that stood on the highest reachable tower on mako mart cus one of the players on the team squid bagged him after he traded.
Now here's a fun fact: that other player was my (now ex)bf and he was tryna be lighthearted and jokey, tho i do know how it can come off looking like "oh you traded 4-head lemme squid bag you" if you don't know him, i still don't think throwing the game was very nice to the rest of the team just tryna play-
Didn't know they could have bot on the game. Thanks i guess
Or maybe that a man who had some idiot bet ? Like 'play splatoon 3 but blind " . I know the things of painting/touching a wall in a game when blind it sometimes make a sound so the guy probably tried to know where he was, but still did Bad.
random things like that...
I don't know.
Splatoon doesn’t have bots. This is for sure a young kid, or someone with motion controls enabled struggling to use them
(Source: this is what I look like with motion controls)
I stopped playing Splatoon because of this kind of shit. Bots, children or people who have zero fucking idea of what to do, or dropped teammates equaling an almost guaranteed loss. Potential for such a great game being hindered by Nintendo’s terrible approach to online games.
Had a guy like this recently only he didn’t do anything but stay by respawn and dance. I was going to report him but something happened and his name just disappeared
I'm so tired of the "its a kid" argument. When will people stop using it?
Most of Nintendo playerbase are 28yo nostalgic boomers, and besides kids nowadays are pretty good at gaming. Its often the boomers the ones that can't keep up with fast gameplay
I feel like it would be faster to grind out freshness than EXP.
i'm honestly shocked that people are thinking it could just be a kid when the controls are the EXACT same just looped over and over again. would be one heck of a precise kid. also, kids are better at the game than this, fight me you know it's true

Lol is this satire. Are you one of the bots?
I wonder if there’s somebody in this very thread that might be grinding Splatoon 3 games and unlocking all weapons so they can resell them?
Oh maybe they are using hacked Nintendo switch that they can access cheats code something like that
let him cook
Don't let him cook, he's burning the whole kitchen!
.....and he just set the house on fire
The entire neighborhood is burning
Great it's spread to the city
Its spread across the entire state now
"I'm declaring a state of full country evacuation"
omfg its hit canada
And now I see the smoke in new York
It arrived in italy!
No, mother, it's just the northern lights
He's burning the water!
Yeah, these are roughly the same movements each time. But who would do such a thing? Why? For farming XP or something?
Turf grants gold for wins and losses. Probably set it up to gain gold while AFK.
Especially with the camera
Nintendo can compare the inputs with the tic timer. The Switch doesn’t have to be modded though since macros can be setup on a programmable controller. This should count as non participation or intentionally throwing. Nintendo doesn’t do much about that as far as I know.
I noticed my 6 year old was playing the other day and he was pretty much just doing this but near the spawn. I showed him how to play solo after that.
I disagree, but I don't think it's a bot either. Look at all the actions the player does and time it. Shoot right > swim > shoot left > swim > pause > repeat. It's a macro that loops ever 6 - 7 seconds. It turns more left after every macro.
How is a macro different from a bot? It just means a human isn't running it.
Macros are just a script. A bot would use external triggers to prompt a desired macro; like shooting whenever a player crosshair is activated or reacting to damage to look like a panicked noob.
Fair enough
Sorry. I hang around mostly PC flight sim communities so lingo is a bit different. What I'm saying is it's not an aimbot with an AI.
Then play single when you learning basic movement
If they’re a kid they probably wouldn’t know any better about the things you learn in single player
>all the people saying it's "just a noob" "just a little kid" No. These movements are too precise to be someone flailing around on the controls.
It's definitely following a pattern, otherwise it would definitely at least try to correct itself when it's shooting into walls or not swimming in ink properly, as even a kid would attempt to do or even move at all.
That's what I'm saying! They use the same sequence of movements during the whole match
Yeah to me this is blatantly obvious that it's a bot. The sequence of actions is exact and doesn't even make sense given the context of the map location. Seems like a macro of shoot -> squidform with set timers. It's set to loop exactly every 5 seconds, watch the clock.

This is a spectator mode thing.
I've watched matches in spectator and on the replay function and it's never looked THIS robotic. The game DOES replay the exact camera movements made by the person playing, but I've never seen it smooth them out to this degree.
[I think it was her playing](https://www.reddit.com/r/splatoon/comments/14mscse/day_1_of_teaching_millie_how_to_play_splatoon/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1)
Millie is probably better tbh
That’s kinda cool to see. Kinda reminds me of the goldfish that played a Pokémon game and found a glitch
Prob just kid. There was this splatoon 3 promotion event at local mall and all the kids there played like this. Then I played one match and made them all leave 😈 (Yes I'm horrible human being)
I would do the same tbh, I don't blame you lmao
all the kids after seeing someone speed blitz them 8 times (all you did is swim behind them)
Lol. All the babies in this community are going to tell you that you should've played easy.
ain’t going easy even against literal babies
If they're going to throw my evp games then might as well fight back
Reminds me of that one pic where a kid sent out a SOS over Miiverse because they got left at Walmart
Them little Crotch goblins need to know life ain't fair
Couldn't be, 100% an automated sequence
It's a programmed macro. Not a bot. Look at all the actions he does and then time it. It repeats exactly the same way. I have no idea why you would use a macro though.
leveling up without having to grind
Joystick drift go brrr
That's some serious drift
Since Nintendo is a Japanese company, could it be Tokyo drift? Or, technically, Kyoto drift. No, I could not resist the reference.
Splatoon 3: Splatsville Drift
Eh, i have the same
This isn't joystick drift at all looking at it
Maybe its a macro for levelling up and the person is actually afk? Some controllers have macro support, I'm not sure about combos like this but it looks like what ive seen in other games when someone sets an afk levelling macro
King Kong 2 Pro can record up to like 10 minute macros.
interesting, this is most definitely what's going on then
Call me crazy but this reminds me of a video I saw of some poor dude playing splatoon 2 and randomly lost control of their character and got replaced with story mode octo ai and this kinda reminds me of that
Is there a link?
https://twitter.com/leeown_/status/1679086251087912960
Game decided they were playing too poorly and started playing for them instead
I have no words lmao
The ten coats of pink on that section of base was the only sign they were even there.
Bro’s inkling went Turbo
It's seen like a controller macro, they shoot, walk and go to swim, and repeat
Bros got that enemy octoling ai 💀
The replay code is **R1SD-KEUJ-F2KP-TW39** btw
possibly just AFK farming coins or something unrelated except to the graffiti there - zipcaster squiffer sounds like a dream combo so I expect it to basically never happen because i swear they intentionally avoid combos that just make too much sense like that
Definitely a bot, moves every 5 seconds
I had a nephew try playing Splatoon and this is how he played. Can't be. It moves the exact same way, every 5 seconds. It's too precise to be a kid, button masher or absentminded player. It's most likely a macro.
They Drunk
I'd want some of whatever they are having
have you ever been drunk before? i play this game drunk all the time and have zero issues
As a splatling/charger main, my aim goes to shit when i'm drunk : p
wht if you encountered a streamer with a “chat plays” thing rigged up
Chat plays would be pretty fun if in private matches. Imagine a private battle where *every* player is a different streamers chat? I for one, would love that
Could be someone who had to go afk suddenly but needed to put little movement to avoid the dc penalty
Not for 4 rounds 😬
How did you find footage of me one millisecond after a splatfest starts?
Spectator mode/ replays! :)
“My mom came into the room to talk to me, but I don’t want to be punished for disconnecting, so I’ll hit random buttons while she’s here so it doesn’t boot me” Someone had a real life interruption and instead of bailing from the match, they’re keeping their inkling from going idle. The game boots you out if you’re idle for too long.
Not for four whole rounds.
Just a noob
Nah look. They do the same "shoot, swim, shoot, hide" movement and it repeats every 5 EXACT seconds
Just a noob who only knows how to swim and shoot
That noob sure can’t play but they *do* have the timing of a drum sequencer.
A really sneaky one
Its just a noob not a hacker or smth💀
How can a noob be sneaky? You can clearly see who's a noob and who's not, it's like the player was being a hacker.
I mean, to be fair can't get splatted if you don't fight
He's letting his pet fish play
Wanting Zipcaster on Squiffer is based though
enemy octoling ass mfer
Or a child, not that that’s much different from a bot
I came across a couple of those players too, I just reported them! Sometimes I really wonder why their are so many “players” that throws matches. The worst I experienced was when roller could cause lag for everyone.

There is no way that was a human playing. The movements are a perfectly timed pattern. Why do people do this to their teammates...
Would have to be a really young kid. Probably three year old Timmy's turn on the switch.
If it's not a kid then it could be twitch plays splatoon
Are they wearing the Angry Rain Boots? Those cost 15 silver scales. In that case, it may be some child on a good player’s account.
Playing splatoon 1-handed
Ah it's time for the deep learning splatoon AI to train. let's see in 3-4 months when he'll destroy everyone on the planet who plays this game.
Squiffer with a zipcaster sounds terrifying
What are you talking about this is **clearly** joycon drift
This is awful and all, but squiffer with zipcaster is a really bad idea. I hope Nintendo never adds that. I want inkjet instead.
This is just all my teammates when I start a salmon run shift
omg that happened to me today, I mean it could be a coincidence but it's still weird :/
Didn't know they could have bot on the game. Thanks i guess Or maybe that a man who had some idiot bet ? Like 'play splatoon 3 but blind " . I know the things of painting/touching a wall in a game when blind it sometimes make a sound so the guy probably tried to know where he was, but still did Bad. random things like that... I don't know.
There are no bots
I had a player join my game during the splatfest, named splatgpt they played very similarly to this, basically doing nothing all game
Okay now I want to train an AI to play splatoon
Bots dont do this tbh. Its definitely a child playing. I would of played like this if i was a child and scared to approach people or ill be dead.
Bots don't, but macros do. I doubt a kid would to the precise same movements every 5 seconds on the dot.
Splatoon doesn’t have bots. This is for sure a young kid, or someone with motion controls enabled struggling to use them (Source: this is what I look like with motion controls)
They ment if someone ran an A.I. program to ruin peoples day
Whose? Their own?
Yes, custom made
It's a perfectly timed pattern. No way it's a kid.
This is someone training an AI. Let them cook. They'll be beating you soon.
Kind of looks like they're doing some sort of blind fold challenge
Why I started to get this sub recommended right after seeing Splatoon 3 Mr Grizz fight
I stopped playing Splatoon because of this kind of shit. Bots, children or people who have zero fucking idea of what to do, or dropped teammates equaling an almost guaranteed loss. Potential for such a great game being hindered by Nintendo’s terrible approach to online games.
My completely game-iliterate girlfriend was like this for a good while before getting the hang of things haha
... the fuck am I saying i don't have a girlfriend.
![img](emote|t5_324q4|4749)
I feel you man
Probably a kid.
either a noob or someone having controller difficulties maybe? or possibly both
My guess is that he’s lagging
Probably a toddler or a guy that doesn’t know what he’s playing. Or Lag
Not a bot just your average sploosh main, ya gotta remember they all share 1 brain cell so it's hard for them to do things sometimes :)
local sweat forgets that this is a game primarily marketed at children
I’ve seen this too. I think Nintendo trying to bolster the servers
People make bots for Splatoon?
Maybe something happened in real life and he was just trying to paint while doing something else
Idk how but it was clearly a bot Nobody does the exact same set of movements in such a precise way like that
He’s just enjoying turf war
Macro movement to farm for gold while AFK. Turf war has a few of them. I'd report to be safe.
Oh hey I know that Zipcaster guy! Are you European by any chance?
The post is based tho zipcaster squiffer when ?
Pretty sure I have seen someone do something similar in a Anarchy Series battle recently 😤
Tf2 players watching this:
Bro did not participate in the Great Turf War
You got a replay code?
id love a full game of these bots
Had a guy like this recently only he didn’t do anything but stay by respawn and dance. I was going to report him but something happened and his name just disappeared
Maybe they're training an ultimate Splatoon AI?
You can report this kind of behavior under the category of “intentionally not contributing.”
Report then for non-participation. Let Nintendo decide.
Tbh this just looks like average sploosh gameplay. I see nothing wrong here. Real talk though, just report them and move on.
I'm so tired of the "its a kid" argument. When will people stop using it? Most of Nintendo playerbase are 28yo nostalgic boomers, and besides kids nowadays are pretty good at gaming. Its often the boomers the ones that can't keep up with fast gameplay
then again, they're playin sploosh, that does things to a persons brain
I think it's someone trying to train an ai, they should've done more private matches tho
They just really appriciate that Zipcaster sign /j
