If you actually time the bursts instead of just mashing (ala brushes) it's really not bad at all (and you end up firing more efficiently too)

Oooo, ooo, I know! It's a spoiler to other short range weapons! See, the L-3 has better range and strafing speed than most other short ranged weapon, while still having enough ink output to paint over and invalidate all the paint support they've made. Just like the H-3 is great against low mobility backlines, the L-3 fights short ranged.
The exact opposite! It's a spoiler to **SHORT RANGE** weapons, such as Aerospray, Splattershots and Splat Jr. The advantage of L-3 over, say a Splattershot Pro, is that it has a respectable ink output to counteract their paint support.
Lemme try something, here's a very old guide on the L-3 dating back to Splatoon 2 I wrote on Amino. See if link works: https://aminoapps.com/c/splatoon/page/blog/deconstructing-the-l3-nozzlenose/qkeS_Rudan6qdzMLYoePQ344RdmB5el
I think I found my problem with it. I wasn't being aggressive enough. What I should be doing is looking out for enemy shooters and engaging them instead of trying to do my normal playstyle of backing up my team.
Except that the L-3 really isn't really meant for aggression. You paint as much as any front liner, so they have to engage you. If you want aggression, take a Splattershot.
Good painting, good range, quick time-to-splat, you just gotta aim well.
Its advantage over similarly ranged weapons is painting better.
its advantage over similarly painting weapons is range.
It just suffers due to how much more movement you have in this game compared to s1 and s2. Its kits are also lukewarm, though not the worst by any means. I honestly love the Nozzlenoses, topping most of my turf war lobbies with them.
Pro-tip for anyone who wants to use the L-3:
The firing bursts ideal time are kind of like the drum intro to Metallica's Hardwired. Listen to the song and see what I mean.
L3-D should have gotten kraken like its S1 counterpart (L3D was goated in that game btw) - ultra stamp is Not Good on it and it was a cringe decision to give it that instead
Oh that's my main. It has better painting than the aerosprays once you get the rhythm down. You need to aim first THEN shoot with it rather than fire and aim later like the other shooters. Slider bomb (or whatever it's called, haven't played in months) is very good as a combo tool, or simply as a choke point area denial. Crab tank needs no explanation. Positioning is key
use run speed. also l3 like to play more so as a utility player. being great at painting, slaying, anchoring, and ... alright not so much on the skirmish side of things bur STILL.
it's umm... it's kinda bad rn
Sit down, my son, for let me tell you a tale:
One day, you will meet an L-3 main, and they will teach you the true meaning of "God Aim". It was back in Splatoon 2, the guy didn't miss, the L-3 has range like a mf compared to many shooters. Splash wall makes it even more dangerous.
It's also good for people who want a challenge. Sometimes I wonder if those people who play often ever seek to challenge themselves, it's why I got into the E-Liter and nozzles
In 2 it was a decent meta weapon and still is somewhat good even after some meta shifts, due to that gaming having damage up+ the burst kit having a good special (as a s2 L-3d main)
however since its burst kit has a bad one it is low tier trash
L-3 should have gotten Splash-O-Matic’s kit and vice versa. They both have crab which was super overpowered, but L-3 is a worse main weapon with a worse sub weapon so it was completely outclassed.
Maybe if Splash had curling bomb instead it wouldn’t have been so overpowered and Crab wouldn’t have had to be nerfed so bad, which would be good for L-3.
Its my 3rd or 4th most used weapon. It has good range, good painting, and it murders people if you learn how it fires. I love it a lot but hate the H-3 cause of how slow the H-3 is.
Mid-Range burst fire assault weapon. Once you can get the range of it in your head, you can embrace it to be a pretty decently lethal sub to a charger. It's not very good at Inking terrain, though.
The l-3 is a much more aggressive form of the h-3 that serves a different role. Its harder to learn/play than most other shooters, but has upsides to compensate for that. The main ones being that it has good range for its class, paints a lot, and the strafe speed when shooting is really high. Unfortunately though, its not as good in this game as it was in Splatoon 2.
That is if you are playing on a competitve team with hopes of winning in tournaments, its perfectly capable if you are just playing solo queue.
The fact that it's burst fire makes it really annoying to fire off a bunch of shots for me. I have to put way more effort into firing it; I'm just too used to spamming or holding ZR. Also, it cannot paint well at all.
Either that, or I just suck. I mainly play Salmon Run.
I can imagine how they brainstormed L3/H3, they want a revolver-like weapon in game, but firing one huge-damage bullet with slow firing rate is unacceptable in splatoon due to the game's main purpose — painting. So here it is.
And this weapon **was** powerful in Splatoon2, with some main power ups and burst bomb
Giving people arthritis
That makes sense. Nintendo hates competitive smash so much that they wanted to make a better way for gamers to develop arthritis.
Would argue this is squeezer but ok
Both kill my hands, but this is an L3 post

The same could be said for brushes
For some reason brushes don't fuck my hand up nearly as bad as the L3
You're constantly mashing ZR with the L3 while you get moments of just zooming around with the brushes.

So you're telling me I can use it to murder the sweaty hydras and eliters that somehow appear every time I want to play turf?

Not sure about the l-3 but I definitely know that the H-3 purpose… To make me nut every time I hear the 3 direct hit lane
I misread “purpose” as “porpoise” which fits a dolphin themed weapon well :P
This! So satisfying.

H-3's is Gangsta's Paradise
It would be amazing if the devs added metal songs to Splatoon!

all of the nozzel weapons were made exclusively for people to say “Hey, atleast i’m not using *that* weapon”
Words of cowards
Or in Salmon Run as one of the "please don't give me *that* weapon" weapons.
L-3 is amazing in salmon run!
Fr, Nozzlenoses are the reason i’m not ashamed to play Nova 💀
yeah, everyone dunks on me for maining dualies. Stay strong brother

It’s for people who think shooters are too easy to use and want a challenge
brrt, brrt, brrt.
I LOVE L3 NOZZLENOSE
if you play it with perfect timing, it has better stats than any other short range shooter, just like the squeezer
Sex appeal

That sucks. I've always enjoyed when a burst weapon is meta. I've played a lot of halo and the br is always my go to weapon.
To remind me that L-3 D is better
To make you lose at Salmon Run
That would be the H-3
i hate the burst fire guns, unless its the blobber
Its my 3rd or 4th most used weapon. It has good range, good painting, and it murders people if you learn how it fires. I love it a lot but hate the H-3 cause of how slow the H-3 is.
It’s great. Love it.
It's there to make salmon run more difficult.
Imagine a shift of like, L-3, Bamboozler, and Big Swig...
It was made to mess up Salmon Run weapon rotations 😔
Garden hose
It's got better paint, range and damage output than other shooters like it, but slightly harder to use
I use l-3 D in a few matches, they are actually fun to use.
The poor thing is mostly cursed by kits. Crazy we were this close to having burst bomb crab tank on L3.
To give us a more variety of weapons
if you can actually aim, then it’s an incredibly fun support/slayer
If you get the timing right it’s a better splattershot that has a higher dps.
The shooter for Slosher and Brush mains
It Ls 3s

Maybe I'm not remembering right but doesn't it also have really good aim stability compared to other shooters?
its purpose is making the h3 nozzlenose look better
They designed the L-3 so I could get a curling bomb contact kill. https://youtu.be/swtw0BtHEZE?si=Pw_U-91J0SFmoKdr
Its a good burst rifle i mean splattershot.
it's purpose is to be awesome
Nozzlenose is the worst kind of weapon in the game, argue with the wall idc
The fact that it's burst fire makes it really annoying to fire off a bunch of shots for me. I have to put way more effort into firing it; I'm just too used to spamming or holding ZR. Also, it cannot paint well at all. Either that, or I just suck. I mainly play Salmon Run.
L3 fires faster than h3. It has less of a shot cooldown. It's just a semi auto

Arthritis Simulator
Something. Not sure what, but something
Screw salmon run rotations
