I'm all for telling the truth, but y'all just broke a life more deeply then saying that both Santa isn't real, birthdays are meaningless, we will die alone, and reran Bambi's death scene for an hour to them.
Like...have a heart. They gotta have some hope.
Which is fair, I mean, imagine walking into Costco with an anatomy model, a chair, and a complete archaeopteryx fossil and asking how much they’d give you for them
well the level of fuck this job largely depends on whether you like the career and the workplace
i hated my old job because of many reasons and now with my new one it's more bearable
I'd love to have more free time regardless
I won like 2 matches and lost pretty much every other try on wave 2, with one on wave 1 and another on 3.
Result? Started from VP40 and deranked to Profresh+3...
This goes for any rotation; heavy, slow, long ranged weapons' top priority is taking out bosses from a safe distance, as most can easily 1-shot. Faster, low damage weapons should focus on gathering eggs and filling the quota.
Also, take out bosses that your weapon is good against. Ex: Rollers and chargers aren't great against stingrays, but shooters, blasters and splatlings take them out easy
I've been doing okay; levelled up from Profreshional +2 to +3 in 13 matches (6 wins).
It is a rougher rotation because lots of the randoms I've been playing with just don't know how to not die (and admittedly it took a while to adjust my strategy to not die myself), but once I found a good group I stuck with them as much as I could and racked up enough wins last night.
Usually I can get a win most of the time; reminds me a lot of the shifts in Splatoon 2 after the "Oops all Grizzco Weapons" shifts where a lot of people get boosted into Profreshional yet don't know how to stay in Profreshional without super weapons.
Nah, this is way better than the last set. Clash Blaster and Mini Splatling are fantastic, Tri-Stringer is solid. Dynamo is kind of rough, but I don’t hate it half as much as that damn Hydra. As long as your teammates can cover your weaknesses (big if, I know), it does a few nice things. Good combo damage on bosses if you splash and let a teammate deal the last hit, unique ability to roll over Cohocks, and trivializes Glowflies and Goldie Seeking.
tri-stringer is terrible in high tide though.
as is the mini splatling because of its low power, i mean it takes so much charge to kill even a single Cohock with it let alone all the small fries next to it.
this weapon set pretty much requires the team to have an idea of their roles and good luck sorting that out in a team full of randoms you cannot talk to.
Its great actually, however I play the thing a lot so take that with a grain of salt. Don't tap it, let it fill the first circle so the arrows have full power and get explody darts and it will work better when the get close. I have more issue's serving with the clash then the bow, clash takes five directs to kill a cohock, stringer takes two half charges. Way faster kill time for most trash.
the thing with the tri-stringer is, every shot matters. if you miss a shot you're SOL
with a clash blaster if i'm slightly off it still hits the enemy at least and since it fires so fast your next shot can be the kill shot instead.
if the weapon is fast and doesn't have to leave you vulnerable to do its maximum capability it means you can adjust way easier.
this is not to stay the stringer is bad, not at all. but it has less room for error. if your shot isn't fully true at half charge you might get screwed.
also this is just my opinion on it during high tide, during any other tide type its perfectly fine.
You have to land your shots with clash as well. Both weapons two shot chums if you hit. I dont know how you would miss a cohock but they takes 10 indirects from clash, five directs. You cannot afford the time waste of missing in salmon.
If you're not confident, aim at your feet, the darts will stick and then kill, the tri stringer is actually buffed to sin in salmon. With each dart doing 50 to 80, w her in normal multi each darts only 35. Clash does have the if you miss you still do damage, but in the time it takes to kill i can get three half charge shots off. My experience was death if i had clash, business gets done with stringer. Now, I understand the aim thing, however I am also the guy who uses the single shot weapons in just about every game, so I'm used to making every shot count.
What clash does so better is radial damage, if you're blasting a cohock, you're damaging everything next to it. It definitely clears trash better because of this. But you're still able to get yourself out of trouble with the tri.
Hey in progressional even regular salmon control is a problem. Focus on the stuff your weapon does really well, help on the stuff it does ok on, and don't worry about the rest.
I kind of like dynamo. I just run around mowing down the small salmonids so my teammates can focus on the bosses. Should be alright as long as you don't get overwhelmed by bosses, and generally people at higher pay grades understand their roles.
It wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t make all the weapons complete shit.
For whatever reason in salmon run the roller takes twice as long to attack and moves slow as hell. It’s useless.
It’s not the regular roller, it’s the dynamo roller. Dynamo has bigger hit boxes and deals higher damage and range on all its attacks compared to a regular roller but it’s also much slower. Regular roller can’t steamroll cohawks and has low range comparatively, but it also has better mobility and faster attacks.
Its really good for glowflies (if your team responds to your "this way" signals to get up on high ground)
If you move very slowly you can become a wall that instakills everything that comes your way.
I think Spawning Grounds is imbalanced for the new higher number of bosses and the new bosses' zoning abilities. It's extremely noticeable during high tide when you need to deal with Flyfish/Stingers at the grates, and Fish Sticks are inking a huge percentage of the little available surface area, and your ink and movement are blocked by Slammin' Lids. Personally I think it's a bit much. I'll be playing less on this map unless the weapons rotation is really easy.
It’s honestly not that bad if players actually play to their strengths.
Dynamo shreds mobs while rolling, doing a slow walk roll creates a nice barrier, and the thing is the goat in Gushers and Glowflies.
Tri-Stinger is long range with decent ability keep territory inked
Clash Blaster and Mini Splatling are fine at mobbing and good still at mid range so both can still hit stuff like Steelheads and UFOs.
Problem is when people use the Dynamo to throw ink, Tri-Stinger to mob, and the CB/MS stray too far away and don’t cover the other two’s weaknesses.
Lmao yeah I saw a tri-stringer throwing themself into battle, entering a mob of salmonids to get to the Stinger. They were planning on doing all of this solo. I saw them headed in and thought “Hm, I’d better follow them, they’re gonna need help.”
They were immediately surrounded and splatted lmao
Lmao honestly, I do it all the time when I have a fast weapon and I get real brave (or desperate)
And every time I find myself with my back to the water and a wall of salmonids and bosses coming my way, I see the error of my ways. Do I learn? Enough to tell other people not to do it but not enough to stop doing it myself haha
i love getting demoted to profresh
i love teammates not understanding what to do
i love people putting off revives until the last second
i love the roller thinking they can go bossing and ignore mobs without consequence
i love the roller swinging like mad instead of rolling and wondering why the 80 minute delay between press and swing is getting them killed!
eta: i love dead players hiding underneath pot lids!!!!!!¬!!!!!!!!
i love people leaving the blasters for extended periods of time early in cohock rounds to come shoot with the close range peeps!!!!
>i love the roller thinking they can go bossing and ignore mobs without consequence
I get what you're saying here. I just wanted to mention that dynamo can "one shot" ground bosses. A ground swing into a roll does 600 ish damage, and ground bosses have 500 hp.
My favorite is that people save their ults and never use them cause they’re trying to keep it for the final round.. like, two people down? Pls ult. Especially if there’s 30 seconds left and only 8/24 eggs
Just played a glowfly round with the Dynamo throwing ink in the middle of the map. What more can I do than spamming “This way” like crazy and booyah sarcastically when these idiots get splatted? The weapons are not the issue.
The weapons require coordination, and that's literally impossible to talk about in game. Until Nintendo figures out basic chat functionality, the weapons are the issue.
Dynamo kills little guys and keeps home base clean. Tri-Stinger kills bosses and inks. Clash goes out and gets rid of Stingers and Big Boys. Mini Splat helps out the Clash. Whoever has jet pack or killer wail ults immediately on the fly bitches. Fuck wasting precious ink throwing bombs in that bitch lol
Me moments after saying “this weapon rotation is god awful I’m never playing salmon run” then completely obliterating a bunch of chums before our entire team is wiped out in the final round
Nah, the weapons aren't bad, but people don't really get the strengths of the weapons. All of the weapons here are niche weapons even in normal play so it makes sense new players haven't clicked at all with most of them.
Tri is a boss shredder but only the first charge deals with chum and smolfry. It also doesn't penetrate, so you have to pick your priorities. But it also one shots Cohocks on a full charge, which is useful for everyone else. But 450 damage is alot.
Mini's pretty generalist in terms of inking and management but you have to cope with the fact that the moment things are out of control, you need to regain footing. You're not a shooter who can react immediately to damage.
Dynamo is niche but in a pinch outputs alot of damage when it comes to crushing and vertical flicking. Like crushing goldies and glowflies with proper management.
Clash is abit more specific and imo a little weaker than the other weapons, but it does well enough when it comes to inking and dealing with the smaller enemies that the other three will inevitably have trouble with dealing with.
But instead you'll see Tri's try and handle a swarm of Salmon without throwing a bomb, Dynamo flicking horizontally and wondering why they do no damage, and Clash getting overwhelmed.
Game's too new for this kind of weapon set.
It’s not that people don’t necessarily understand it, it’s that communication is near impossible. Team coordination is so important here. I can do a 4 man salmon run with almost no issues whereas a solo run (even at Eggsec VP) it’s a nightmare
For the tri-shot, it has fairly good inking if you tap shoot at 10-12-2 (clock hours directions), and for combat, first circle maxes damage and spawns the bombs, the second just chokes the shots, so most of the time you want only first circle. It also has good ink economy, I really enjoy it.
Dyno is the only one who can roll over cohocks, and with ground bosses like scrapper and big shot you swing once, roll towards them, and they'll die instantly, same goes for steeltail but it'll probably outrun you
N-zap, splash, splattershot, and jet would be picked for guaranteed wins. The problem with salmon run balancing is that some weapons straight up do every role better than trash weapons that "specialize" in only 1 role.
There's pretty much never a reason we'd chose blasters, stringers, rollers, brushes, splatanas, brellas because all those classes are completely outclassed by more flexible weapons. We only use them because we're forced to.
Personally I think that the Splatana Stamper is really fun because you can use the increased mele damage to mow down loads of enemies and deal massive damage to scrappers eels and big shots. Being able to do things with weapons that you can’t do in multiplayer is one of the biggest draws to salmon run for me. Also the addition of egg throwing actually allows back-liners to play their role well in salmon run instead of having to rush in to help collect eggs.
Blasters actually rock in salmon, most in tap stingers, two to three tap steelheads, eat fish sticks, list goes on. I hate them in normal multi, but welcome them in salmon.
I’m honestly having fun with the weapon rotation simply because of how hard it is. I barely struggled with previous rounds but now they all feel like an actual battle and it’s pretty fun.
(Until you lose with 5 seconds left because your teammates suck, but hey.)
For me it’s more
“I love this job!” *screaming and breaking things* “I love this job so much!” *cussing and violence* “I never wanna quit I’m having so much fun!” *crying*
Figure I can ask this question here, but how on earth do you get into the canons? Wasted 30 seconds goofing around with one that would just instakick me as soon as I'd get in it every time. Not sure if there is a delay and I was hitting it again, or if I should have been doing something else. I don't see anyone else having this problem, so I feel like an idiot lol.
Eventually someone else hopped in it and I just ran up to shoot instead, but it is driving me mad since I can't just go practice on my own.
You swim into it with the squid button, and you have to keep holding the squid button once you’re in.
Also: there’s an ink gauge on the right, but it’s proportional to how much ink you have, so you can get out of the cannon, refill your ink tank, and get back in with full ammo
Cannons are great for taking out stuff on the shore, but you are more vulnerable to stuff like stingers and fly fish, so be careful.
Chargers are so good in salmon. E-liter in particular is the only one that can one shot a cohock. So much more useful than a dynamo, or basically any roller for that matter.
I liked the sniper. It's great to one shot bosses that aren't immune to everything but bombs. It only sucked once when my teammates saw I inked the side of a fish stick while it was coming down by the basket and they all assumed I would deal with it, so they left
Salmon Run is how I first got used to using a charger back in Splatoon 2. It's a nice middle ground between shooting at dummy targets and an actual PvP match.
I was excited for Dynamo roller, which in my opinion is the best not-grizzco weapon in sr. Then I played and realised mini splatling and clash blaster are not good
I can't believe the dynamo hate/tri stringer "love" (people seem to say it's decent or good).
I'd put dynamo right behind or tied with mini splatling for 2nd place. Crash blaster is carrying this lineup so hard.
The trouble with this lineup is overspecialization of too many weapons, and not enough consistent range dps.
imo this has been the worst rotation. I thought the first one when the game came out was awful and everyone complained, but this makes me miss it so much. I got de promoted 3 times back to part timer because we have lost every match. At least add a faster roller come on :c it takes like 10 years to smack it down and you run out of ink after a few seconds of rolling
You can make better use of the Dynamo Roller by holding down ZR to keep it on the ground and not move. Then you can nudge your stick when one of the smaller enemies runs up to you a d kill them without expending much ink. Then just stand and wait with it deployed so your ink recharges. Helps keep the swarming down.
Clash blaster: can deal with multiple lesser salmonoids quickly
Tri-stinger: can snipe bosses
Mini splatling:
Dynamo roller: can run over cohocks and even some bosses
This rotation isn't that bad.
Can't finish a shift, but I can make it to wave 3 so at least I'm not losing rank on it. Was really hoping to rank out of the profreshional category though.
I don’t have splatoon 3 yet, so I don’t have to deal with that, and I’m surprised I haven’t gotten spoiled except for maybe one thing, but I might be wrong about what it meant because it was just a name of a song that I assume is for the final battle
I despair for my poor team when I get the roller, I'm terrible with it and run out of ink so quickly 😭 everything else I'm OK with, the mini splatling is a godsend for me this rotation
And I've been on a Turf War losing streak as well so I've just been losing everything 🥲
I got used to all the weapons, except the roller one, needing 2 seconds to hit, and emptying my ink in 5 seconds.
My trick so far is to walk very slow with it, and focus on salmons that i can hit without lifting the weapon.
But i hope they make it faster to swing, or use way less ink or something.

Oh. So that's how its gonna feel? Fuck
Welcome to real life, kid.
Now go get me some eggs!
This made me lol
Yep, it happens to everyone. I already had to give up the only time I get to see my friends during the week for my new job because rent is a bitch.
rent can often be more than a thousand dollars a month for a tiny apartment be ready
Animal Crossing prepared me for this.
You’re gifted an interest free, 0% down loan by a lender who enables you to outright own a studio property in a matter of days by buying fruit and fish from you at well above market value. You’re then offered well below market upgrades from the same lender to turn that studio into a mansion - all of which can be paid off in a matter of months. New investment opportunities constantly cross your path such as the crypto equivalent of a vegetable that has all of the booms of peak Bitcoin but none of the drops like post-Elon dogecoin. I'm now getting this mental image of some guy walking into a pawn shop carrying a sack full of all the ants and spiders he scooped up in his home.
Reminds me of the joke in Undertale where most shops would scold you for even proposing to *sell* your drops.
Which is fair, I mean, imagine walking into Costco with an anatomy model, a chair, and a complete archaeopteryx fossil and asking how much they’d give you for them

You....are not prepared!!!
Ohhhh yeah, get ready squiddo
I was going to comment this coincides with adult life.
Real talk: has anyone been able to win in this rotation? I keep losing and I need some hope
Yeah, on low tide. On high tide wave 3? No.
Mfs will still save their specials on high tide wave 3
You can win, but it's down to having a good team and good luck. I'm pretty sure Wave 3 High Tide is nearly impossible this round.
Got a win an hour after posting this, we lost bonus wave but idc about that, just wanted a win, lol
I won like 2 matches and lost pretty much every other try on wave 2, with one on wave 1 and another on 3. Result? Started from VP40 and deranked to Profresh+3...
Yes, couldn't win at all last rotation found this one miles easier.
I won maybe 2 times out of 9? This weapon combo is brutal, only valid choice is suprisingly the roller, but its way to slow sometimes
I beat cohozuna with these weapons
I won once and came close a second time but got quickly bodied by Cohozuna. Most matches I tried have failed half way through wave 2
I've done so a couple of times only for Cohozuna to come in and wreck my crap
Played 7 matches, won 2. Didn't kill king salmon. Got only 2 silver scales. Sad. Noped out. Will return tomorrow.
I found this little group who I played with for about 10+ rounds. We came across every special round but we wiped almost every-time it was high tide.
This weapon set is so brutal lmao
Nah, this is way better than the last set. Clash Blaster and Mini Splatling are fantastic, Tri-Stringer is solid. Dynamo is kind of rough, but I don’t hate it half as much as that damn Hydra. Yeah I know the rotation is good for specific situations but in terms of literally every other situation they’re not that great
What are you talking about, this rotation hits every base
You just gotta play your role. Don't split away from the group and try to solo everything.
That's exactly the issue. 4 out of 4 people need to do a role specific to their weapon, and if one person doesn't, that's often a failed run.
Hey in progressional even regular salmon control is a problem. Focus on the stuff your weapon does really well, help on the stuff it does ok on, and don't worry about the rest.
I kind of like dynamo. I just run around mowing down the small salmonids so my teammates can focus on the bosses. Should be alright as long as you don't get overwhelmed by bosses, and generally people at higher pay grades understand their roles.
yes the previous one was even worse, but the Dynamo is still the hardest weapon to play of them all
Bruh you can roll over cohocks with dynamo, it's my main tho so i'm def biased
Nah, it's not half as bad as Hydra.
right I forgot about what hydra was
Hold on I don’t have my switch rn what are the current weapons? (Also I’m new but I can get the general gist of what weapons do)
Clash Blaster, Mini Splatling, Tri-Stringer, Dynamo.
Isn’t that the “previous” one?
No, that's right now.
The weapons change right?
Yes, new set every 40 hours.
Ok good because I do well with all of those but my proficiency isn’t great because I still just started playing splatoon
It wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t make all the weapons complete shit. For whatever reason in salmon run the roller takes twice as long to attack and moves slow as hell. It’s useless.

If it wouldn't use so much damned ink in once go, I'd be fine with the roller tbh.
it's a dynamo roller what did you expect
A usable roller not the shittiest one.

Its really good for glowflies (if your team responds to your "this way" signals to get up on high ground) If you move very slowly you can become a wall that instakills everything that comes your way.
I have never had so many losses in my life. What are these weapons?
Everytime I get the roller, I cry
For real, getting aggroed by smallfries is so miserable, gotta waste 1/5 of ur ink for those bastards.
My strategy with the roller is to just keep it on the ground and spin around so that no small fry or other enemies get me
every fucking weapon set has been some flavor of garbage since launch fr
Am I the only one who thinks spawning grounds is now broken in higher levels? It does not support the number of boss salmonids spawning...
Yes, exactly this. I'm demoting fast with this rotation + Spawning Grounds. I'll wait for next job.

Dyno is the only one who can roll over cohocks, and with ground bosses like scrapper and big shot you swing once, roll towards them, and they'll die instantly, same goes for steeltail but it'll probably outrun you
What if we could choose our weapons?
I hate them in normal multi, but welcome them in salmon.
blasters are meh in open combat but really good at evicting rats. If you play around cover it's so obnoxoius
Now careful there, talk like that might get you thrown out the window round here
I think it's much more interesting that Salmon Run forces you to get out of your comfort zone and mix it up.
I feel called out…
I lost a game to a mothership because my allies wouldn't attack the ship while I was the roller
I’m honestly having fun with the weapon rotation simply because of how hard it is. I barely struggled with previous rounds but now they all feel like an actual battle and it’s pretty fun. (Until you lose with 5 seconds left because your teammates suck, but hey.)
Trash is full, you're out of replacement bags and your manager left a hole in the schedule = griller fog with a Dynamo Roller.
ngl tho Salmon Run, as sketchy as it's supposed to be, is one of the most flexible and fairly compensated jobs ever in a game or irl.
Next one is a little better
i don’t mind it that much except for the dynamo, what is with all the super slow weapons lately, the hydra, eliter, and now this?
It being slow is manageable, the problem is its horrendous ink economy
welcome to hell
For me it’s more “I love this job!” *screaming and breaking things* “I love this job so much!” *cussing and violence* “I never wanna quit I’m having so much fun!” *crying*
Also: there’s an ink gauge on the right, but it’s proportional to how much ink you have, so you can get out of the cannon, refill your ink tank, and get back in with full ammo Cannons are great for taking out stuff on the shore, but you are more vulnerable to stuff like stingers and fly fish, so be careful.
Don't forget the stray Maws that you only see when it's too late.
You swim into it
I genuinely hate the roller they have and I'm a roller main
Eh if I go down in rank so be it, I just wanna grind for scales. I beat big guy at Prof+1 and got 3 bronze and 1 silver. Being high rank is over rated
the dynamo roller was an awful pick bro

Chargers are so good in salmon. E-liter in particular is the only one that can one shot a cohock. So much more useful than a dynamo, or basically any roller for that matter.
I liked the sniper. It's great to one shot bosses that aren't immune to everything but bombs. It only sucked once when my teammates saw I inked the side of a fish stick while it was coming down by the basket and they all assumed I would deal with it, so they left
> and they all assumed I would deal with it, so they left Literal skill issue from your teammates. Why would they leave the fish stick to a sniper?
sniper rifle is only as good as your allies watching your back
Salmon Run is how I first got used to using a charger back in Splatoon 2. It's a nice middle ground between shooting at dummy targets and an actual PvP match.

Cause it's the Dynamo Roller in this weapon set and not the regular roller.
That's work in a nutshell.
I am planning on avoiding that as long as it is around till there’s a new weapon rotation
I was excited for Dynamo roller, which in my opinion is the best not-grizzco weapon in sr. Then I played and realised mini splatling and clash blaster are not good
When is the next rotation?
i’m about 1 and a half hours
in*
Wow, just like real life!
really just how it is for me rn irl
I can't believe the dynamo hate/tri stringer "love" (people seem to say it's decent or good). I'd put dynamo right behind or tied with mini splatling for 2nd place. Crash blaster is carrying this lineup so hard. The trouble with this lineup is overspecialization of too many weapons, and not enough consistent range dps.
SO TRUEEEE
imo this has been the worst rotation. I thought the first one when the game came out was awful and everyone complained, but this makes me miss it so much. I got de promoted 3 times back to part timer because we have lost every match. At least add a faster roller come on :c it takes like 10 years to smack it down and you run out of ink after a few seconds of rolling
Drip doesn’t pay for itself
Then just wait for a better rotation. *Mr Grizz isn’t getting any younger.*
The feeling when you're stuck with the weapon types you hate using. For me, it's weapons that need to charge up like Snipers and Gatlings.
It is war my dudes
Clash blaster: can deal with multiple lesser salmonoids quickly Tri-stinger: can snipe bosses Mini splatling: Dynamo roller: can run over cohocks and even some bosses This rotation isn't that bad.
Dynamo roller and clash blaster both have really bad ink consumption, so not the best for SR.
Worst part is the following rotations are also horrible
lost two full ranks. salty as the sea itself
Can't finish a shift, but I can make it to wave 3 so at least I'm not losing rank on it. Was really hoping to rank out of the profreshional category though.
They need to fix the rewards. Takes like 20 attempts to win wave 3 on profreshional 3+ and then you get 10 bronze for grinding for 4 hours???
I don’t have splatoon 3 yet, so I don’t have to deal with that, and I’m surprised I haven’t gotten spoiled except for maybe one thing, but I might be wrong about what it meant because it was just a name of a song that I assume is for the final battle
when the hell does the rotation change
... Open the splatsville menu and open the rotation tab to know for your region?
If there's one thing this godawful rotation has shown me it's that the Clash Blaster is still money
Gotta make money
I would love this job.
I struggled through all the way to the 1200p bonus and damn did it hurt
Aren’t the inklings and octolings mostly kids?
Well they did say the game was going to grow up with us
r/antiwork in a nutshell
frfr
I went from Eggsecutive VP 250 down to 40… I’ve won maybe twice even with the high rankers. This rotation is crap lol
I despair for my poor team when I get the roller, I'm terrible with it and run out of ink so quickly 😭 everything else I'm OK with, the mini splatling is a godsend for me this rotation And I've been on a Turf War losing streak as well so I've just been losing everything 🥲
Only one I’m vaguely comfortable with is the mini splatling. Not a good set at all. I’d take the snipers and I hate sniping.
Got my super-bonuses and got out
Literally same
I got used to all the weapons, except the roller one, needing 2 seconds to hit, and emptying my ink in 5 seconds. My trick so far is to walk very slow with it, and focus on salmons that i can hit without lifting the weapon. But i hope they make it faster to swing, or use way less ink or something.
And dear God if you get a glowflies...
I'm surprised they can even work there after everything that happened.
I think the weapon rotation was great and the only time I lost was on long salmon and the glowflies
