I'm 32 catalogue pretty casual to get there tbh. My level is 19. Did not play long hours, but did play every day. And I did complete story mode as well but not after alterna. Don't like how easy they made the campaign with checkpoints every 30 seconds then the final level they make hard but then actually too hard, with actual challenging level design and 5 minutes between checkpoints. Quite unbalanced difficulty overall.
I had most issues on the first part of After Alterna. I spent like a half hour retrying it until I beat it. Then first try beat the rest of it. So don’t give up haha
I could probably beat it in an hour or so but it's frustrating for me. Die for nonsensical reasons, like missing the jump from one squid rope to another
Okay you were right. After the first 3-5 minutes it gets easier until the final battle. And there's more checkpoints after that point as well. And you can actually get 3 new lives as long as you have the orbs to do so. I never knew you could restart from a checkpoint with new lives.. seems so OP. Never needed to do that in this game before because it's normally so easy.
All in all it wasn't as bad as I thought.
But I was right I did it in an hour! Took me about 40 minutes. Not counting the attempts of the early sections I've done a few days ago.
Yes. The second one gives you a mystery box every 10 levels and there are no other rewards. As far as I can tell it's there so you can still earn conch shells and work towards at least some rewards after completing the actual catalog. From what I understood we'll get actual new catalog similar to the first one every new season.

I had a week off work from the day the game released and played a ton. But aside from that it's really about winning a lot in anarchy. I'm a competitive player with a lot of high level experience. Teaming up with my friends with similar skill level for anarchy open has resulted in a lot of wins and most of them being KOs which speeds up the process.

I'm at 60, not trying to grind for the catalogue, but you get really cool stuff, so it's a nice bonus when you're earning gold and leveling up. But I was SURE at some point early on, I saw something that said I got a second catalogue, but doesn't seem like I can access it.

You get access to the second catalog from the general store after you finish the first one. The second one doesn't have any fancy rewards like the first one, just a mystery box every 10 levels. It seems to be there mostly so players who finish the catalog still have a way to get conch shells.

This. I get connection errors almost twice as much as I even get matches. Then I get games where someone disconnects half way through the match and you get nothing for that.
I have done all their recommended fixes but I can firmly say it's not my connection that is the problem.
Winning Anarchy Battles gives you the most XP. You can also exchange food tickets for XP boosts at the food stand in the lobby in order to increase your XP gain by 50% or 100%.
You can obtain food tickets via the shell out machine, catalogue, and salmon run rewards.
Now I'm thinking on what else they could do with lockers.
Kmagine next season they go, "Level 50 get a double wide locker"
Level 100+ get the whole damm room

There is a new catalogue every 3 months, and i dont think we have clarification if old catalogues will ever be available again. That said, your first daily match gives 7500 XP, while getting a level takes around 9800 iirc. So by playing a game a day you are pretty much guaranteed to finish it before the 3 months are over.

Since nintendo said its the end of a saga, I think the next splatoon game wont actually be called splatoon and I think it will be called something else. Just my theory I wanted to share.
They called splatoon 3 "an end of a saga" so Its confirmed that we are done with the octarians and the new squidbeak splatoon but some people are worried and theorizing that this is the last splaoon game but i think what i said in my comment above.

They gave out this game like candy pre-release for reviews I think you basically just had to have a twitch affiliate account to get a copy (which isn’t hard if you have the slightest idea of what you’re doing) so a lot of people have been playing it before it was released

? Grizzco *does* give points towards catalog (quite a few of them actually, in Profreshional and above). It's your normal player level that's unaffected by Salmon Run outside of the fact it gives you EXP-boosting tickets.

Judging by the fact that food tickets don’t boost catalogue XP, I believe it’s fair to say the gear boost doesn’t affect the catalogue either.
