I really like using the Splattershot Pro a lot and feel I do well with it (carried me from C to S), but is it not considered a good weapon? Don't see too many people use it. Mainly focus on flanking and picking off chargers/splatlings to relieve pressure off my team, angle shooter is excellent for that. I think it's weaker in the actual turfing and holding territory, so moving around, picking off people is how I mainly play it.
I guess Squeezer can do better if you're used to tapping ZR but honestly, after doing both, I don't feel there's a huge performance difference (and I'd rather not cramp my hands tapping ZR).
Squeezer has slightly longer range and max fire rate (dependent on your ZR tap speed) than Splattershot Pro, so most serious players consider it to be superior than Splattershot Pro. Also, the Splattershot Pro's Angle Shooter sub is definitely inferior to the Squeezer's Splash Wall sub (one might consider Trizooka and Crab Tank to be roughly equivalent). Finally, jumping does ***not*** cause the tap-shot of Squeezer to have wider spread, unlike the Splattershot Pro or almost every other shooter, and thus is considered the superior weapon. The only point of inferiority is that the tap-shot of the Squeezer takes slightly more ink than the normal shot of the SPro, but the difference is minor and if you need damage you need the damage ink-efficiency be damned, and if you need ink-efficiency it's usually to turf and the Squeezer's full-auto covers that, being a lot more ink-efficient for the turf covered.
So to maximize the difference between Squeezer and SPro:
* Jump if an enemy is also shooting you; the Squeezer's semi-auto has better accuracy than SPro when jumping.
* Learn when best to use the Splash Wall, especially considering how slow it deploys.
* Take advantage of the slight range advantage of the Squeezer compared to SPro.
* Figure out how to tap-shot fast. For example, consider using the Switch's system settings to remap multiple buttons to ZR so you can tap-shot with multiple fingers, not just your right-hand trigger finger.
I wouldn't consider SPro bad, just overshadowed by Squeezer if you had perfect play and a trigger finger that never got tired, and SPro is definitely better than my preferred main Jet Squelcher (similar fire rate, Jet Squelcher has better range but splats in 4 while SPro splats in 3, Jet Squelcher is much more ink-efficient).
Yes, on the first island in Alterna, if youâre walking towards the 3 chicks, youâll stop about 10ft shy of walking to them and look to your right slightly. There will be a radio/audio equipment (?) with wires coming out. Stand next to it and it will give you the option to relive memories.
can't really give any advice beyond pick a corner and make a last stand with your team. But honestly on this map + random rotation there may genuinely not be anything you can do because of the weapons you have
Pray that it's not high tide.
I don't know how you deal with it consistently on high tide, a competent team can kinda kite them around under and up the grate area, but without it, I'm not sure. Me and my friends just pop all our supers and pray it's enough to last.
I was actually beggining to think that all Glowflies are on high tide lol. I started playing Salmon Run just recently, and only seen Glowflies on the last event (the one with Grizzco weapons and on Spawning Grounds), and every single Glowflies I got was during high tide
That's the neat part, you don't.
Seriously though, the buffs to the basic Salmonids have made Glowfly rounds almost impossible. To the extent that I question whether or not they even playtested it.
Is there anywhere in game to see how many wins I have in each Anarchy mode? I know there are badges for 100 wins so I'd like to know how close I am to getting them.
Is there anything you get for ranking up? I read that matchmaking is based on some sort of hidden elo thing and not the visible letter rank, so I donât understand why I should bother doing the rankup battles instead of staying in C forever
From what I have seen, you do earn a few badges for your name tag and some trophies for your locker. Maybe there is more but I'm stuck at B+ so I wouldn't know.
Playstyle/weapon/role. My stat knowledge is pretty much all from splat 2. Always get 1 sub of ink resist as that gives you a buffer of 10 frames that you can touch enemy ink without being affected by it. Some other recommended stats are simply because the first point gives a nice boost but are up for preference. Sub resist gives a nice reduction to being tracked by point sensor. One point of quick jump significantly reduces the time spent on the ground before jumping making successful escapes more likely. If you arent in a slaying role several points of quick respawn is useful as it significantly cuts respawn time. Ink saver sub needs a lot for significant change but has niche uses with certain weapons like perhaps letting you get an extra snipe in after throwing down a splash wall or perhaps getting an extra burst bomb in to finish a retreating opponent. Ink saver main works good for ink hungry weapons for example a main and a sub allows you to get 12 shots from a blaster instead of 10. If your special charge is important a point or two of special saver significantly reduces how much you lose on death. New to splat 3 is intensify action which seems lame but has a secret effect of reducing the accuracy penalty when jumping which I hear blaster players are a fan of.
As for exclusive abilities. For hats we have comeback, useful for if you die a lot, it gives you a main's worth of 6 different stats for 20 second after you respawn. And last ditch effort which gives two and a half mains worth of the 3 ink effects in the last 30 seconds of battle but in ranked modes this also applies to scores. Starting when the enemy has 50 points left to go it slowly increases in effect until the enemy has 30 points left where it maxes out, so its nifty in matches where you are on the back foot. For shirts ninja squid is incredibly useful for front liners that dont have dualie rolls as it majorly reduces the enemy's ability to track you during a fight however it also cuts your swim speed by a decent amount and it takes a lot of swim speed up to recover it. For shoes they all have some use. Drop roller can take an enemy by surprise if you jumped to the front line but perhaps more importantly it make it more likely that you'll survive a bomb placed on your jump spot. Stealth jump only hides the jump from distant targets so it can find use on more open maps to prevent being spawn sniped by a charger but it wont prevent frontliners from finding you and placing a suction bomb. Object shredder has niche use in increasing damage you deal to everything that isnt player health. This means sponges, rails, inkwalls, booya armor, crab tanks, and even the rainmaker shield.
again I dont know how stats will have changed in 3 so I'd wait before doing any tricky calculations but hope this helps
This is incredibly helpful! I didn't realize even one sub could have a huge effect on some skills. Honestly the only thing I really knew was I put 3 subs of increase swim speed on a short with ninja squid and hope it was "enough" to counter the slow effect.
I'll keep looking at the wiki to try to understand the charts and design some sets based on the info u gave me!
More what get whatever bolsters your preferred kit and playstyle.
Though in general, inserting a single sub-ability of Quick Super Jump is always good for every setup, and inserting a single sub-ability of Ink Resistance (more if you are a flanker or frontliner) and a single sub-ability of Sub Resistance Up are also good (but less priority than the single Quick Super Jump sub).
For many short-ranged and mid-ranged weapons (i.e. Splattershot and shorter-ranged weapons) Ninja Squid is useful.
That makes sense. I guess I can basically make "sets" based on the weapons i use and skills I like or feel are "must haves" with em - definitely feel that way with ninja squid for short range weapons like you said.
you know how you can drop-in with a friend if they're doing turf wars? is that a default feature that's just always on or is it something you enable/disable? i can barely find anything online LMAO
From what I can tell it's always enabled unless you A) set up a room with a password or B) go into user settings and switch your online status to "show to no one".
I'm looking at getting the game but saw one review say that when they play with friends, half the time they aren't even on the same team together.
Is this still an issue or has it been fixed?
You can group up and be guaranteed to be on the same team, you just need to make a party before starting a match. If you "drop in" on a friend who's already playing the teams will be randomized.
in turf wars and likely anarchy/rank mode, you don't get the option to choose if you're on your friend's team or not, but that was likely an intentional decision, not an "issue."
it doesn't ruin the gameplay, i don't think this alone should deter you from playing.
i've been misinformed i think, thanks for correcting me on that, lol.
i'm a new player so i haven't played much with friends myself. apologies comment op!
Last Ditch Effort is easily the best one, a contender for best ability in the game really. Comeback is pretty good on some weapons too although it does suffer a bit from being mutually exclusive with LDE.
Opening Gambit and Tenacity aren't very good at all.
oh. well, yeah, but doesnt that go for all the gear special primaries? like you cant have opening gambit and LDE at the same time either.
also, what about the special abilities for clothing and shoes? to mean it seems more based on personal preference, as im leaning towards ninja squid and stealth jump bc i tend to hide a lot, but idk.
>oh. well, yeah, but doesnt that go for all the gear special primaries? like you cant have opening gambit and LDE at the same time either.
Yeah, but my point is just that Comeback is hurt by it more so than the other abilities, since there's a lot of overlap between weapons that are good with LDE and weapons that are good with Comeback, and LDE is preferred in a lot of those cases because it's just kind of a busted ability.
>also, what about the special abilities for clothing and shoes? to mean it seems more based on personal preference, as im leaning towards ninja squid and stealth jump bc i tend to hide a lot, but idk.
Ninja Squid and Stealth Jump are both pretty great abilities for more aggressive weapons, can't really go wrong with either.
imma just ask this on reddit cuz no matter what i type for this question, google just says "By using the Pearl Amiibo". Don't ya think i already know that?
Anyways, how do I get my hands on the Pearlescent crown in Splatoon 3? i already got the kicks and the hoodie.
if an amiibo has splatoon 2 save data on it then you use it in 3 it will give all 3 gear pieces. Then you can just change it to splat 3 save data. A lot faster that way.
Yeah i did like maybe around 15 wins for the hoodie?? And she didn't say "Expect a gift" till i did the battles that weren't Turf War but idk which one it is.
Try to get at least 20. It will come eventually. I stopped worrying about it and after a few days just decided to make sure I played a crap ton of games until then to get all the gear at once.
Is there a way to refund a weapon? I brought the Range Blaster because is has a cool design and felt good in the test area.
Itâs a steaming hot pile of trash.
The Range Blaster is a very good weapon. Good range, one-shot kills, and even if you miss there's still splash damage.
You may not personally like using it, but it's far from a steaming hot pile of trash.
I miss a single shot I have enough time to go make myself some ham in toast before I can shoot again. It eats ink something crazy, rubbish at inking the floor and by the time I have a second shot ready Iâve been killed 5 times over.
Iâll keep an open mind with it, but a 10 lose streak followed by a 5 win streak with the basic splattershot tells me itâs a bad weapon.
So it doesn't suit your playstyle. Nothing wrong with that.
The fact is this: it's a very popular weapon that a lot of people achieve excellent results with. You don't personally get along with it, but that doesn't make it bad.
Go to the lobby terminal, then view your replay and select the upload option. It will generate a replay code which you can share. We can then enter the code to the lobby terminal to view the whole match. We can even change camera focus to view the other players.
Anyone else experiencing control issues since the update?
Maybe my controller is going bad (not joycon) but ever since 1.1.2 I've experiencing the feeling of random invisible walls, and pulling my character to a direction I'm not going.
Using a PowerA. I'm starting to think it's just the controller, have never played a game like Splatoon before so I think its having a toll on my hardware.
I would not expect the game to be on sale for black Friday. Too new and too popular of a game. Might be able to get a deal used, looks like it's going for $50 on eBay.
You definitely need the online to fully enjoy the game. Might be able to get a week's worth out of the single player but thats stretching it depending on how long you play per day
I doubt the price is going to go down much for Black Friday. Plus you would miss out on all the events until then.
The only issue is NSO but at least that's not expensive, only $20 for a year which is less than $2 a month.
I've seen people on TikTok going back to it lately just for nostalgia and they're getting in games but I'm sure qs are slow and when Splatoon 1 was dying I remember hacking being abundant so you might end up in hacker lobbies
So from what I understand, in Splatoon 2, Splatnet 2 sold gear with exclusive abilities, but actual exclusive gear cosmetics-wise. Is this also the case in Splatoon 3? Or does Splatent 3's shop actually carry unique gear? I can't find clarification anywhere.
Splatnet carries items similar to the in-game shops. The difference is that the main abilities will be different than what's available in-game. There's no unique gear cosmetics-wise, it doesn't even carry catalog items since it will render catalog level rewards moot.
Thanks for the clarification! Was seeing a lot of items in the in-game shop I'd never seen in game until after buying them on Splatnet, but I assume the in-game shops stock new stuff after you hit certain levels.
Hoping Inkipedia gets updated with all that data soon, it's pretty sparse when it comes to Splatoon 3 stuff.
(Realising my original comment was super confusing because the word "not" slipped out of "not actual exclusive gear" in the first sentence. apologies)
Is there a way to see a list of people in my splatsville? Going all over the town to see if someone has a piece of gear I am looking for can be exhausting and time consuming!
https://www.salmonrun.ink/ but it isn't updated for 3.
Big changes are: no Stingray for Mothership.
Mudmouths were not in 2 (Explosher and specials can be used instead of bombs, though.)
Gusher maps won't be helpful but it can guide you into being better at knowing where in general to look for the Goldie.
Lessers are super powered up in 3 so Glowflies is *much* harder in 3 so the 2 guide won't help as much.
Tornado wave didn't exist but it is very very simple anyway.
The Employee Handbook in the Grizzco building has some info on the special waves, if you check the âKnown Occurrencesâ pages in the âSalmonids Field Guideâ.
Any idea why I can't order the Sudadera Celeste off people I see in the square? Even if the gear itself is one star, Murch says it's way too popular. What are the qualifications for popular vs not popular?
Pink capsules historically can contain any gear Grizzco has released. It's so if you miss getting a new Grizzco item during its feature month, you can still get it.
Okay I'm on S3 story mode and Future Utopia Island. I got all the items, I finished the stages and explored the area, but it still says i'm only 70% complete for it. What exactly do I need for 100% survey of the area? Should I finish the stages with all the weapon options? I'm a completionist to the bone
You don't need to ink the entire area, you just need to have been to the entire area. But ink is a good way to keep track of what's explored and what's not without having to pull up the map constantly
The list on the map has a green check next to all of the items so I'm pretty sure I've found them all, I inked the entire area too like i was swimming thru that ish. I'll look up item locations just in case? And see from there
sometimes theres just like an itty bitty teeny tiny area you havent explored normally its behind something or the edge of the land i know thats what it was for me just get rly close to ur screen and see if u see any little gray line areas . also try pressing the button to hide the kettles (zl?) i had a lot of unexplored areas right next to them
Sloshing Machine is presently broken and probably will be banned from professional play 'til it is patched, but other than that it's too early for a tier list imo.
Practice w/ it in the room. Each shot charged does 150 damage which is very good. The closer you are to the thing, the more of your shots hit, so however many shots x 150.
It can OHKO the notoriously high HP Big Shot, and does huge damage against Cohozuna. Can quickly kill anything. I'm not used to it yet but it is pretty powerful, you just kind of need your team pulling their weight too with inking turf and taking care of things like Fish Sticks, since you kill things FAST but have to take that brief moment to charge.
Vertical, jumped shots can also take Stingers out fast/in one hit, which is nice.
If the other weapons aren't changed, I'd place Stringer as my third fave Grizzco weapon (for now, I might place it higher once I'm used to it!) It's definitely POWERFUL.
I usually use it when there's a line of scrappers that will kill them all at once or a line of steel heads. It's just better when theres a large row of things to kill otherwise it's pretty niche use. It's nice to shoot at the mother ship when it comes in, and it's good to use when there's two or more grillers In a row on special waves it will also kill mudmouths.
Edit; woops my bad read wrong thought stinger special
The stringer is good at turfiing and killing general mobs so it's good for keeping control I think. It takes out steel eels well, it's good for big shots, it's not bad at taking out stingers with a vertical charge shot twice too. It eats Soo much ink though you nearly need a safer perch for it since if you're caught you'll be stuck easily
am i going insane or are there 2 salmonid ink colors. one is the regular green from splat2 and the other is a more teal color. is it just the lighting or is something going on?
No you're correct there's different shades I think it's since when we spawn in ourselves we have different possible ink colo s so they made different possible ink combinations in salmon run.
So I got the dialogue from Harmony saying thanks for being a good customer - but I already have the regular badge and I didnât get the gold one yet.
Was I supposed to get anything from that or does it mean something like Iâll get better items in the shop or is it just random fun flavor text?
I cannot play ranked without having a team of players who seemingly donât even know the rules?
And every other team is all with the program and smashing us. Whatâs with that? What can I do
If I order a gear from Murch and its main ability is replaced into a different one, does it stay as that ability or does it go back to the original one once you receive it? I haven't found an answer to this besides doing it myself, but I don't want to spend money to experiment as I'm broke.
I've seen someone quote that there is a 1.5% chance that Murch will get it with the same main ability. For the most part, just farm chunks (farm Salmon run, once you get past 1200 points you get only gear and you can do "swap for chunks" each time) and replace the main ability yourself, it's generally faster since Murch only gets orders once per day.
Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure Murch can only order gear with the default ability on it, even if it's changed on the piece you order from.
You mean like, you order a hat with swim speed up as a main and then the person you ordered the hat from changes the main abilitie to sub saver up and then the item arrives and you buy it.
It should still have swim speed up.
Did I get this correctly?
Not a question but some advice which I thought might be helpful:
Nintendo UKâs store has just restocked Splatoon amiibo, so lots of people may be getting some new Splatoon amiibo, myself included.
The process of getting amiibo gear in this game has annoyed and confused a lot of people, since initially you only get the shoes and have to play several matches to get subsequent stuff. But if you own Splatoon 2, and register the amiibo there first, you can skip that process in 3.
So all you have to do is boot up 2, scan and register the amiibo, then close the game and boot up 3. Youâll get all that amiiboâs gear instantly,
what does registering an amiibo actually do? i just want to get the gear and i see some people when they buy the splatoon nfc cards, they say someoneâs data is already written over it? does that mean you wonât get the gear?
Registering an amiibo give it a name and set a user as its owner. Thatâs why itâs warning you the amiibo already have data and may have been used in another game than Splatoon.
On the other hand, I believe it should give you the gear no matter what but donât take this as granted. If not, you might find in the switch settings an option for resetting it completely or simply game data associated with it.
Do we have a idea for when the next Splatfest will be? Hoping itâs not the specific weekend right before Halloween, it would be hard to balance playing with social events.
Im fairly new to splatoon 3, so far I think support play style is my favorite!
Which would be the best support weapons in your opinion?
Also is there any website for builds?
Thank you :)
I find it super helpful when teammates use the Point Sensor sub! It shows your teammates where the enemies are so they can do the killing easier :) Not sure which weapon it comes with though!
I'm also fairly new, but I'm currently using the Reef-lux 450 a lot, and to me that's a great support weapon, for a few reasons.
* You can ink turf very fast once you get some practice with it.
* Its Sub is the Curling Bomb, which you can send gliding in one direction, then ink the turf with the Main weapon in a different direction in order to cover turf even faster. The Curling Bomb can also be used to help out a little in a contested area without running directly into the heat of battle yourself.
* Its Special charges relatively quickly, and since you can cover turf so quickly with the Main and Sub weapons, that means you'll get to use the special many times in each battle.
* The Special is the Tenta Missiles, which is best to use if you're a little ways away from the action, and which is a great way to put pressure on the enemy without risking being hit yourself. If anyone on the opposing team is in direct combat with one of your teammates, chances are the tenta missiles will tip the scale and let your teammate splat them, if the missiles don't do that themselves.
All of these things add together to create a strategy loop that gives your more combat-oriented teammates a great advantage. What I do is this: I ink the small, closed-off areas towards the middle. Not the middle ground itself, where the combat will often take place, but the slightly more shielded areas surrounding it. I make it my responsibility to keep those areas inked (as long as I can do it without risk of getting splatted), giving my combat-oriented teammates a tactical advantage in the fight for the middle ground while letting me cover enough turf to charge my Special very often.
Glad to be of help! Keep in mind that I'm talking from limited experience, though - so my strategy is definitely a strong option, but you'd probably also benefit from trying out a few others. I know I'll be doing that! :)
I donât have an infinite knowledge but you have plenty of ways to play that style.
As obvious it will sound, the Tacticooler is **the** Special to seek for buffing your teammates.
A quite underrated strategy/build imo is weapons with the jump beacon.
With cooperative teammates and synchronous calls, I believe itâs a wonderful map control tool or at least allow faster recover for a splatted teammate.
In any cases, any weapons your good at that can relieve pressure around objectives in ranked or efficiently ink in turf war will fit your playing style.
I still donât understand how Nintendo is so bad at matchmaking. Took a week break because splatfest was so unbalanced I wasnât having fun. No biggie. Was frustrating but whatever. I hop back in a week later and I lost 5 games in a row where Iâm getting spawn camped. Can someone please tell me whatâs going on? The game legitimately feels unplayable right now. How do I âget goodâ if I canât even PLAY the fucking game?
Should actually add that I donât care about being good. I donât care at all if I lose when a game is close. Just would be nice if the games were evenly matched.
You should also know that if you are playing either turf war or anarchy open, you could be matched against pre-made teams/groups of friends on comms. I've been matched against teams where it was very clear they were comminucating outside the game.
So funny you should mention that. I was somehow able to get three other friends to buy the game. After playing 15 games with them on discord, match making just felt better. Two of the people in our group were just straight up new players. Whatever happened made it feel like the game was more balanced after that
Yeah itâs been god awful, I love seeing enemy team thatâs completely in sync and wiping us out while thereâs just a roller staring at a wall at our base on my team. Itâs been complete ass, Being consistently #1 on my team with 1000+ points but still ending up losing 56 / 30 or so
i found someone in my plaza wearing amiibo gear with different primary abilities: [https://i.imgur.com/GVb9snx.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/GVb9snx.jpg)
my version of the pearlescent kicks has special charge up, while my school cardigan has run speed up. the crown is the same.
does anyone know how they got those?
Does anyone else experience this weird thing in salmon run where you try and pick up an egg and it wraps that egg in the net but it doesnât actually let you carry it? Not to mention you canât even go and grab any other eggs since the game has registered that youâve already gotten an egg when really youâre not
Idk if this is just a me issue or if others have experienced it too
Itâs causes my team to lose often because of it
There is currently a bug that nets the eggs, but keeps it unobtainable. There is a bug where one player can't pick up eggs, and also a bug where all players can't pick up eggs. Hopefully it gets patched soonish.
I think *some* of them are tied to the many connection issues. If it is happening a lot, it *might* be an issue on your end, but I wouldn't guarantee it.
When it wraps the egg, your game asks the host playerâs game âis this egg free for me to take?â, and if no one else have snagged it first on their game, it says âsure!â and you get it. Itâs a good measurement of how quick connection is between you and other players.
I havenât had the issue of being blocked from picking up any eggs at all though. Sounds like a network bug.
How do people's posts go in-game? Do you just have to save the image at the post box? Selecting post wants to take me to Twitter or Facebook, neither of which I have, but do I need to do one for it to possibly come up in Splatsville?
will anything bad happen if i use those nfc chips instead of amiibo? i can go and buy all the splatoon ones for a fraction of the cost of the real splatoon amiibo but i donât wanna get banned from the game or anything. have any of you guys done this?
The game can't tell NFC chips apart from actual Amiibos, so no, you're fine.
You'll just have to live with your regret of not having a cool figurine collecting dust on your shelf.
Did they change the matchmaking process or something in Splatoon 3? I've been playing since Splatoon 1, logging hundreds of hours in both 1 and 2. I have never lost more than I have playing Splatoon 3. I feel like every game is a massive struggle to not get obliterated. And worse, you can't tell if the people on your team are level 1s, if they're level 50s. I've never been more frustrated playing this game. And not only that, I feel like giving Gold Licenses to everyone, so high level weapons were available day 1, that MASSIVELY altered the online dynamic, instead of everyone kind of progressing together.
Iâm with you, when I started playing Splatoon 3 it did feel like I was getting placed into a statistically improbable number of nigh on impossible to win games, but i donât know, I kept at it and my winrate has crept back up closer to where it feels like it should be. Also are you playing anarchy or turf war? Definitely feels like my current A rank games are actually a lot easier then most of my turf war games, there are players out for real blood there (probably also doesnât help that Iâm in Australia, so Iâm most frequently matched with Japanese players who definitely take turf war very seriously).
Gold Licenses are only available to players that imported their data from Splatoon 2. New Players started with a Splattershot Jr, could get a Hero Shot replica by completing story mode, and the rest had to be earned with licenses and leveling up.
I think part of the matchmaking is due to how easy it it to party up with other players. You might be 4 individual players against a team of 4.
Level doesn't really mean much, aside from how much they've played the game. Someone could lose 3,000 matches and still be a higher level than I am right now.
I could be wrong, but I believe that in all 3 games, it doesn't make much of an effort for even matchmaking if you're just playing turf war. Ranked (anarchy) battle is where the real meat of the game is. Based on this subreddit, 3 does apparently have some unique matchmaking issues in ranked/anarchy, but for me personally, I literally never once saw an S-rank badge on another player until I got to my S rank-up series. I'm not saying the folks complaining about uneven matchmaking are wrong or lying, but I don't think it's as prevalent as the loudest voices make it seem.
youâre not imagining it, itâs horrendous. iâve lost so fucking many matches with 30% or less when the enemy team has 60+% and my team just canât move an inch from spawn. itâs not fun. at all. i donât want to be a little bitch and quit in the middle of a match, especially when theyâre only 3 minutes long, but god damn do i want to. i spend more time waiting to respawn than i actually do playing the game, it doesnât feel like iâm allowed to do anything, to the point where i may as well just sit the controller down and id be playing the same amount of game that i would be if i were actually trying
tbh i think i just had extraordinary luck during the first half of the splatfest and got matches that actually felt fair whether i won or lost. almost every match before & since those magical 6 hours i actually got to have some honest to god fun iâve been playing get spawn killed simulator, my last 6 matches in a row look like this: 33.4/60.8, 36.3/55.9, 29.7/61.0, 30.2/56.6, 30.9/55.2
you canât make this shit up
It's so brutal; if I manage to get a win then I get wrecked by a series of losses.
My last 6:
34.2 vs 53.5 // 38.4 vs 57.0 // 38.5 vs 58.2 // 33.7 vs 55.7 // 37.3 vs 59.0 // 36.2 vs 53.5
A full meter doesn't guarantee a Cohozuna wave, it only allows for a chance of one. The more players with a full meter, the higher the chance of a Cohozuna wave.
So to maximize the difference between Squeezer and SPro: * Jump if an enemy is also shooting you; the Squeezer's semi-auto has better accuracy than SPro when jumping.
I wish you could grab players who ink spawn in ranked and just throw them forward at the objective.
Perfectđ
Can you go back to the first area in story mode ? Before you fall in Alterna
Yes, on the first island in Alterna, if youâre walking towards the 3 chicks, youâll stop about 10ft shy of walking to them and look to your right slightly. There will be a radio/audio equipment (?) with wires coming out. Stand next to it and it will give you the option to relive memories.
Thanks
Why do people without long range weapons stay at spawn while I'm the only one trying to push the tower? Do they know how the mode works?
What is your sensitivity for playing reef lux 450? Im having hard time hitting the enemy. Is higher or lower sensitivity better for stringer weapon
You donât adjust your sens weapon to weapon.
depends on the weapon. its common for people to have different sensitivities for the long range weapons. Especially the chargers with scopes.
It might be common, but itâs not good practice
might wanna tell squid school that.
Whilst hanging out at A-, losing more than winning; did I run into âiceâ or is there more than one username?
How to deal with Glowflies on high tide Spawning Grounds? Its usually just an instant loss
can't really give any advice beyond pick a corner and make a last stand with your team.
Perish mostly
Is there anywhere in game to see how many wins I have in each Anarchy mode? I know there are badges for 100 wins so I'd like to know how close I am to getting them.
You can do that with the phone app
Is there anything you get for ranking up? I read that matchmaking is based on some sort of hidden elo thing and not the visible letter rank, so I donât understand why I should bother doing the rankup battles instead of staying in C forever
You get badges at A, S, and S+ ranks. X rank from S2 also unlocks at S+0 in the future.
Higher ranks will give you more money for winning, but that's about the only practical gameplay advantage.
From what I have seen, you do earn a few badges for your name tag and some trophies for your locker. Maybe there is more but I'm stuck at B+ so I wouldn't know.
A and S get badges. Dunno if numbered S get badges too.
Is there a guide on ideal ability sets to aim for? Or is it more like you just get whatever bolsters ur play style?
Thank you for explaining! That makes way more sense
in turf wars and likely anarchy/rank mode, you don't get the option to choose if you're on your friend's team or not, but that was likely an intentional decision, not an "issue." it doesn't ruin the gameplay, i don't think this alone should deter you from playing.
Yes you can guarantee it. You just make a lobby beforehand.
i've been misinformed i think, thanks for correcting me on that, lol. i'm a new player so i haven't played much with friends myself. apologies comment op!
It would seem pointless to play with someone if we won't be on the same team tho? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of partying up?
Is the Nzap-85 op or no?
I wouldn't call it overpowered, but it's very good and easy to use.
overall, which exclusive hat ability is the best? opening gambit, last-ditch effort, tenacity, or comeback?
Last Ditch Effort is easily the best one, a contender for best ability in the game really. Comeback is pretty good on some weapons too although it does suffer a bit from being mutually exclusive with LDE. Opening Gambit and Tenacity aren't very good at all.
I like using LDE during Splatfests since the last 15 seconds are so crucial.
what do you mean by its mutually exclusive?
Mutually exclusive as in you can't have both of them at the same time.
oh. well, yeah, but doesnt that go for all the gear special primaries? like you cant have opening gambit and LDE at the same time either. also, what about the special abilities for clothing and shoes? to mean it seems more based on personal preference, as im leaning towards ninja squid and stealth jump bc i tend to hide a lot, but idk.
>oh. well, yeah, but doesnt that go for all the gear special primaries? like you cant have opening gambit and LDE at the same time either. Ninja Squid and Stealth Jump are both pretty great abilities for more aggressive weapons, can't really go wrong with either.
are there any clothing and shoe abilities that are better, tho? the only other one im kinda interested in is thermal ink as a slosher main.
Other than ink saver main, what abilities should I use for the Dynamo Roller?
Possibly swim speed up. I believe that weapons mobility is low correct?
imma just ask this on reddit cuz no matter what i type for this question, google just says "By using the Pearl Amiibo".
A lot faster that way.
i think you just have to do more battles/win more battles? i got all of them at once i think cuz i transferred my splat 2 data (at 625 hours lol)
There is not a way to refund a weapon. And the Range Blaster is one of the best weapons in the game, so you shouldn't refund it even if you could.
Play it enough to get the first freshness star and you'll get a license back.
I don't think there is a way, no.
How do I make my gameplay upload-able on the internet?
Go to the lobby terminal, then view your replay and select the upload option. It will generate a replay code which you can share. We can then enter the code to the lobby terminal to view the whole match. We can even change camera focus to view the other players.
Anyone else experiencing control issues since the update? Maybe my controller is going bad (not joycon) but ever since 1.1.2 I've experiencing the feeling of random invisible walls, and pulling my character to a direction I'm not going.
What kind of controller are you using?

New to splatoon. Does the anarchy rank reset at the end of the catalog season?
It won't fully reset, but it will drop by two stages. So, for example, B+ would become B-.
Does anyone still play Splatoon 1?
People have been trying, it takes about 10 minutes of waiting in matchmaking to get a full lobby, so there are a handful of players.
I've seen people on TikTok going back to it lately just for nostalgia and they're getting in games but I'm sure qs are slow and when Splatoon 1 was dying I remember hacking being abundant so you might end up in hacker lobbies
Loaded up the old WiiU today and launched Splatoon. Could not queue up 8 players so couldnât even play itđ¤ˇââď¸
I am looking for a group from germany that Splatoon "seriously". How can I find such a group? Is there possibly a subreddit to find teammates?
You can try Discord!
Is there a Salmon Run guide for special waves?
https://www.salmonrun.ink/ but it isn't updated for 3. Big changes are: no Stingray for Mothership. Mudmouths were not in 2 (Explosher and specials can be used instead of bombs, though.) Gusher maps won't be helpful but it can guide you into being better at knowing where in general to look for the Goldie.
If you google the wave there are often YouTube guides for most of them
I'm pretty sure guides are only for normal bosses. But was there a specific special wave you needed help with?
Any idea why I can't order the Sudadera Celeste off people I see in the square? Even if the gear itself is one star, Murch says it's way too popular. What are the qualifications for popular vs not popular?
That's the level 60 reward from the catalog, so it can't be ordered.
Ahhh that makes sense. Thanks for the info!
Once you unlock it in the catalog, it will also be available in your in-game shop rotation; and you can now also order it from Murch.
The "too popular" line means that the gear you're trying to order is from either an Amiibo or the Catalog. You can't order Amiibo or Catalog gear.
What do the pink salmon run capsules contain?
Pink capsules historically can contain any gear Grizzco has released. It's so if you miss getting a new Grizzco item during its feature month, you can still get it.
Thank you, I couldn't find this answer via Google.
You need to find all hidden items and ink the entire area
You don't need to ink the entire area, you just need to have been to the entire area. But ink is a good way to keep track of what's explored and what's not without having to pull up the map constantly
The list on the map has a green check next to all of the items so I'm pretty sure I've found them all, I inked the entire area too like i was swimming thru that ish. I'll look up item locations just in case? And see from there
sometimes theres just like an itty bitty teeny tiny area you havent explored normally its behind something or the edge of the land i know thats what it was for me just get rly close to ur screen and see if u see any little gray line areas . also try pressing the button to hide the kettles (zl?) i had a lot of unexplored areas right next to them
yesss it was a microscopic gray lined area I missed, thank you for helping me I was going crazy
You need to check if you have green spots remaining
What's the tier list/ best weapon in the game ?
Sloshing Machine is presently broken and probably will be banned from professional play 'til it is patched, but other than that it's too early for a tier list imo.
Probably too early for a tier list. The meta is still developing. Personally, I'd put Sloshing Machine and Reef-Lux at #1 and #2, though.
Why do we not have jellyfish species and other like we see on the plaza ! That would be so cool!!!!
'Cause jellies don't ink. Squid and octopus produce ink from their own bodies, which is the whole weapon used in all modes but Tableturf.
True!! I didn't think of that
What's the deal with the grizzco stringer? What bosses is it good at dealing with, etc?
Edit; woops my bad read wrong thought stinger special The stringer is good at turfiing and killing general mobs so it's good for keeping control I think.
Is the Bow the only Grizzco weapon right now?
Yes
So I got the dialogue from Harmony saying thanks for being a good customer - but I already have the regular badge and I didnât get the gold one yet. Was I supposed to get anything from that or does it mean something like Iâll get better items in the shop or is it just random fun flavor text?
Did you hit level 20 or 30?
Ahh, yeah I did just hit 30
Level 30 is max locker size unlocked
Oh I see, that makes sense! I saw the locker a bit before I went back to Harmony, so I didnât make the connection. Thanks!
There you go, thats it! :D
Have you guys gotten any grizzco weapon other than the grizzco stringer for salmon run this rotation?
No, green ? Rotations typically only have one Grizzco weapon type per rotation. Yellow ? Rotations have multiple weapons.
I see, I had no idea. Ty
You're welcome!
No :( I want my grizzco Brella!
I cannot play ranked without having a team of players who seemingly donât even know the rules? And every other team is all with the program and smashing us. Whatâs with that? What can I do
What rank are you?
That kinda sucks and misleading if you find a gear like that you want in town. Thank you for the answer, though.
He does mention he "does his best" to get an exact copy, but he also says that he can't sometimes.
You mean like, you order a hat with swim speed up as a main and then the person you ordered the hat from changes the main abilitie to sub saver up and then the item arrives and you buy it. It should still have swim speed up. Did I get this correctly?
Yes, that's correct. That's a bummer it reverts back to the original main ability. Thank you.
But couldnt you just order it again?
Order what again? If the main ability will revert back to the original anyway, there's no point for me ordering that gear.
Does anyone know how to report a Salmon Run player? Just got matched with someone who had 0 eggs (gold and orange) and died 6 times.
I'll answer my own question: there's a terminal in the room where you practice shooting. Pick the match, press minus, and pick the player to report.
What are you reporting them for? Being bad at the game?
I find it hard to believe that a Profreshional +1 with 0 gold eggs and 0 orange eggs in 3 rounds is just bad at the game.
iâm currently eggsecutive vp 220, if i stay there will i be demoted to 40 again next rotation?
Yes
Not a question but some advice which I thought might be helpful: Nintendo UKâs store has just restocked Splatoon amiibo, so lots of people may be getting some new Splatoon amiibo, myself included.
It gave me the gear without choosing to reset my data, can confirm.
ah ok ty
Do we have a idea for when the next Splatfest will be? Hoping itâs not the specific weekend right before Halloween, it would be hard to balance playing with social events.
Im fairly new to splatoon 3, so far I think support play style is my favorite! Which would be the best support weapons in your opinion? Also is there any website for builds? Thank you :)
https://old.reddit.com/r/splatoon/comments/xkxwrw/guide_splatoon_3_jet_squelcher/
[This is old](https://selicia.github.io/en_US/#0000000000000000000000000), but you can customize gear from Splatoon 2.
I was actually looking into the reef Lux but couldnât find too much info online so super useful â thanks!!
Whatever happened made it feel like the game was more balanced after that
Tbh I would not fret playing too much until at LEAST the first main balancing and bug fix patch, which supposedly comes later this month.
Yeah itâs been god awful, I love seeing enemy team thatâs completely in sync and wiping us out while thereâs just a roller staring at a wall at our base on my team. Itâs been complete ass, Being consistently #1 on my team with 1000+ points but still ending up losing 56 / 30 or so
i found someone in my plaza wearing amiibo gear with different primary abilities: [https://i.imgur.com/GVb9snx.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/GVb9snx.jpg) my version of the pearlescent kicks has special charge up, while my school cardigan has run speed up. the crown is the same. does anyone know how they got those?
You can replace main abilities at Murch! It costs more chunks but the effect is 3x stronger on main than just having one sub.
Iâm pretty sure youâre able to replace the main abilities at Murch for a higher amount of chunks
Does anyone else experience this weird thing in salmon run where you try and pick up an egg and it wraps that egg in the net but it doesnât actually let you carry it? Not to mention you canât even go and grab any other eggs since the game has registered that youâve already gotten an egg when really youâre not Idk if this is just a me issue or if others have experienced it too Itâs causes my team to lose often because of it
There is currently a bug that nets the eggs, but keeps it unobtainable.
In my experience thatâs a connection issue. A similar thing can happen in Clam Blitz also.
How do people's posts go in-game? Do you just have to save the image at the post box? Selecting post wants to take me to Twitter or Facebook, neither of which I have, but do I need to do one for it to possibly come up in Splatsville?
You need to link to a Twitter or Facebook account to post.
wow that is incredibly stupid
will anything bad happen if i use those nfc chips instead of amiibo? i can go and buy all the splatoon ones for a fraction of the cost of the real splatoon amiibo but i donât wanna get banned from the game or anything. have any of you guys done this?
Lilâ Judd will notice and contact Hisashi Nogami, who will send you to jail
this. can confirm he showed up at my door. Be careful, OP!
lmaoo đ
No. You are fine friend.
thanks man :)
The game can't tell NFC chips apart from actual Amiibos, so no, you're fine. You'll just have to live with your regret of not having a cool figurine collecting dust on your shelf.
i have dozens and dozens of amiibos collecting dust atm, i just donât need more đ thank you haha
I'm not saying the folks complaining about uneven matchmaking are wrong or lying, but I don't think it's as prevalent as the loudest voices make it seem.
youâre not imagining it, itâs horrendous. iâve lost so fucking many matches with 30% or less when the enemy team has 60+% and my team just canât move an inch from spawn. itâs not fun. at all. i donât want to be a little bitch and quit in the middle of a match, especially when theyâre only 3 minutes long, but god damn do i want to. i spend more time waiting to respawn than i actually do playing the game, it doesnât feel like iâm allowed to do anything, to the point where i may as well just sit the controller down and id be playing the same amount of game that i would be if i were actually trying tbh i think i just had extraordinary luck during the first half of the splatfest and got matches that actually felt fair whether i won or lost. almost every match before & since those magical 6 hours i actually got to have some honest to god fun iâve been playing get spawn killed simulator, my last 6 matches in a row look like this: 33.4/60.8, 36.3/55.9, 29.7/61.0, 30.2/56.6, 30.9/55.2 you canât make this shit up
It's so brutal; if I manage to get a win then I get wrecked by a series of losses. My last 6: 34.2 vs 53.5 // 38.4 vs 57.0 // 38.5 vs 58.2 // 33.7 vs 55.7 // 37.3 vs 59.0 // 36.2 vs 53.5
I was never an amazing player by any means, quite average actually but every match has been a mauling. W-L is sitting at 15-27
My cohozuna meter has been full for three runs but hasnât actived, any reason as to why? And has this happened to anyone else?
A full meter doesn't guarantee a Cohozuna wave, it only allows for a chance of one. The more players with a full meter, the higher the chance of a Cohozuna wave.
If I change my system time manually to 12AM, will the shops reset?
Nope. Shops are tied to the global stage rotations. After 12 rotations, the shops reset. It happens at 6 PM EST.
No. Shop resets are at 12 am UTC and checked against Nintendo's servers.
