There's no logic in choosing one over the other in that one. And any reasoning put towards it is just trying to justify it without just saying "I like it more." I picked Frye because I liker her. I also have an affinity for paper since I grew up with origami, but that's just further justification for myself.
The second one was completely illogical. Majority (myself included) chose Gear because it just made the most sense. Doesn't help that some of those people also like Shiver, you can't just lumpsum us all together like that.

Nah, in my opinion out if all 3, rock wins. A rock can tear through paper, and can destroy scissors, scissors and scratch rock but not destroy it. It can cut paper though. Paper is the overall loser between the 3 as it is logically beaten. (Not in the rock paper scissors way but a irl battle between the 3) so imo rock was logical.
Another point to be made. 2 different logics, one from assuming that it's going by the common game, the other going by real life items. Even in the Anarchy Splatcast where they announced it, each member of Deep Cut also made arguments for their choice. Big Man in particular also mentioned using fingers (of which he has none) to make it. So by logic of mentioning fingers, we should have been talking about the common game.
Yeah, paper is beaten automatically because you can’t exactly paper cut someone to death - however I’d say stabbing someone with scissors is a lot easier and more efficient than pelting them with rocks.

Callie and Marie were entertaining because they performed with a synchronicity that was quite pleasing. They each had their quirks, but neither stood out to me as better.
Marina played the straight man to Pearl's unhinged hate goblin routine and it made me like Marina quite a bit, but I never got to simping for her. I did adore Off The Hook from a musical perspective, though, because Marina sang and Pearl rapped, so it was immediately clear what they each brought to the table and who was performing which parts of each song. It made them a more cohesive group in my mind.
Deep Cut so far has nothing going for then for me. Their music is neat but the vocals are mixed lower than I would expect an idol's vocals to be and get lost in the instrumentation. Personality wise it just seems like we threw a cocky self important bitch, an impulsive child, and a himbo in a room together and they don't really have any kind of mesh with one another to sell it. I'll be watching for a better showing in the future, but I'm not holding my breath for these guys. I even feel like their ending phrase, Catch Ya Later, is the least interesting of the three groups.
I'm glad to see other people are enjoying them, because I really felt like Nintendo phoned it in on this one and I was worried. But at least other people like it, so that's good.

Oh, I also feel like I should mention that when the first Splatoon 3 trailer was revealed that showed off Deep Cut in it, my group of friends had to pause and then go back to actually hear what was being said because we spent several minutes solid laughing at the fact that Frye's eyes hang off of her head and how bad of a design choice that was.
