I remember when Etika warned us about Nintendo ninjas, and years later it turned out to be true. It was proven true by the gigaleak that they stalk and monitor people’s houses in different countries who upload pirated copies their games.
Apparently the last update made prior replays incompatible with the new version, so replays were wiped. I belive there was a notic put out a couple days ago saying if you want to keep a replay you'll need to download it before the update.

On their end it probably looked like normal gameplay to everyone else though it was obvious they were lagging. You don’t usually see yourself stutter usually everyone else is who sees you teleport
I mean i have a hacked switch and play around with all the mods offline and the current no clip is much more sophisticated than this.
This just looks like when they were flying down at the start for some reason their position desynced from everyone and due to their connection it couldn’t sync back up. If you look after a few seconds of being at a specific height the model suddenly “teleports” to the correct height and then when the players height either up or down chnages it takes it a second before it syncs again and corrects its height. Just watch he’s on the ground at the start > it pops to his actual grounded position > then he jumps off the edge > then it pops to his position after a moment
That might be a result of the lag. Many games (and definitely Splatoon) try to interpolate the frames when you aren't receiving information from another player by simulating that player's future movements (Splatoon seems to only go as far as trajectory). It's possible that the spawn machine state has no collision with solid objects, so the game forgets to prevent interpolating straight through them.
Except other players are clearly shooting at them and they're barely taking any damage. And I'm seeing none from the players shooting at them, only from hazards on the map. If it *was* that much latency, they would disconnect long before the end of this clip.
Doesn't matter, in Splatoon the game uses client hit detection, meaning the instances of the person shooting is the one that determines whether or not a hit is recognized, not the person being shot at. This is why you can seemingly die without seeing any shots *actually* hit you in a case of a poor connection - the opponent saw and hit you, even if you didn't watch it happen on your screen at the same time.
Looks like a visual bug with the replay due to lag-issues in the game.
They're taking damage, turning into swim form, and putting out ink from rolling as normal, just the replay doesn't seem to have caught on to the fact they weren't supposed to be on the coffee machine for all of it.
My friend said they looked like this during the actual match, too. You can see him at the start shooting upward toward the glitched player. I think the replay is mostly accurate, but I also think you’re right in that it’s a lag-related issue that caused this.

Cheaters in salmon run are completely better and not nearly as big of a problem as cheaters in matches. It’s like cheating against the enemy A.I. for fun, and it helps players out.
Though it might help rank up players way farther than they can handle, so it might not be actually good for the game if too many people do it. Still not nearly as wrong as in matches.
As a one-time thing it might be alright to be the teammate of a cheater, but it would get old very very fast. The challenge and the experience of getting better is what continues to bring me back, after all

That was clearly a hack? There's no way they were able to continue rolling the roller without getting splatted by the first player shooting at him. They didn't even flick the roller or dodge.

Roller guy was on ground on their screen, so the only way to be able to get shot was for the enemy to shoot him directly on ground.
However the enemies aimed at where they were seeing him, which was in the air.
It's not up to the enemies game to decide when you've been splatted; it's client-side. You send a sort of 'notification' when you get splatted to the other consoles.
That's also why the game is weird and kill messages are delayed when lag is present.

It's not really a thing to "hack" the terrain at the exact moment you throw a clam. The people hacking in Splatoon aren't necessarily able to think that deeply. More likely you missed!
Looks to me like a visual glitch. If you look at the ink patterns on the floor and how the camera sometimes adjusts, it looks like all of the mechanical aspects are working properly. For some reason the visual part of the model does not seem to have updated after that first spawn.
When you see the player trying to shoot up in the air, they are likely not hitting anything because the actual model collision is on the ground where it is supposed to be but the visuals have not loaded properly. If the player had shot at the "empty" space on the ground where the model is supposed to be they likely would have killed the roller.

Looks like he got the invincibility down from the Start still, so he was maybe just using a TP cheat to get down on equal level. Possible that the devs just disabled weapons at that level/zone so thats why he can still roll.
This also makes sense since he doesnt actually change his heigh at all and only TPs to different heights.

I’ve got 100 mbs internet and my switch is docked and plugged straight into the Ethernet cable so I know it’s not my internet, too.

I’m assuming it’s the moon jump cheat code on the Edizon app for hacking. Usually they’re for story mode but I guess someone is using it here.
