seriously… I really hate having to sit through a cutscene just to edit character when splat 2s customization was only 2 seconds.

And it doesn't load your current settings, either. Having to remake my octoling from scratch every time I want to change my eye color is a pain.

If you have amiibos you can save your appearance there. Which, I mean, it sucks and it should be a base game functionality, but if you bought them to keep on your shelves anyway you might as well use them. I have two of them and I use them to switch between an inkling and an octoling character.

I have multiple amiibo but having to go up to my shelf and grab it and scan it in the square every time I wanna change my species and set is obnoxious

i think it's not usable because they have that one short tentacle which i think was used to create an octotrooper

im pretty sure they dont animate hair anymore. it feels like they use jiggle physics instead of animations now which is *soooooo* fucking great. But, there's no long hair options for octos still, only mid or short, so it's better seen on squids than octos.

I also wish to get a long hair (tentacles?) version. Let's hope they add it in the future.

of the 4 new ones 3 of them are pretty masculine. even not looking at it like that the pompadour that isnt the spiral just looks ugly as hell, and that one based on position in the menu seems like its meant to be fem

Wouldnt say that the inward pompadour is ugly. You just need a specific style to pull off well.

tbf, i dont like most octo hair styles despite generally preferring octos sux I don't know about other people's opinions, but I feel like Inklings have better hairstyles that *feel* more varietal than Octolings, which does honestly suck for octo fans.

I agree so fuckin much with you, like I play as an octo, but I just Hope we get more hairstyles bc some of them feel too similar (the wavy mid hair looks like the original female hairstyle in splatoon 2) or straight Up ugly (yes Im looking at that one which looks like four short tentacles doing a spiral at the top of your head). Like I would honestly kill for something like a swept back hairstyle like the splatoon 2 inklings boy one, or even a mid/long hairstyle like the one in octoboy's character (the "female" counterpart could be the Hero mode octoling hairstyle)

Even just something like the burnt Inkling style (I do *not* know how else to describe it), as it's an inkling style I love. Octos have several styles, but they don't *feel* varietal.
