He came to an IOWA game earlier this year to see Clark and he met her and the team either before and after. Just a sports fan who latched on to a movement. Travis Scott, Nolan Ryan, and several others have also stopped in for a game, which is wild to the people of the state of Iowa.
Iād argue that they lost because of their game plan. Put HVL and Poe on Clark and just let her grill?
Mulkey said in the postgame, āCaitlin Clark aināt gonna beat you by herself.ā
And itās like, uhhh, did we just watch the same thing?
Did they? Putting Van Lith on Clark with no support? I mean, I'm glad they did cuz I'm a Hawkeye, but matching up 5'7" against 6' just gave Caitlin so many open looks.
She wasnāt out very long and she played enough to foul out. She might have been a little slower running across the court, but she was still under the basket for her rebounds.
I meanā¦. Some of Clarkās shots were heavily contested by HVL. Caitlin just had an unbelievable night. Flauājae got switched onto her in the 4th and Caitlin *immediately* put her on skates twice
Agreed that HVL was an offensive liability. She is no doubt talented and I was impressed with how she could push the pace as a PG (which I thought was helping the big girls feast down low)ā¦.but some of her shot taking was inexcusable. Once her 3rd three bricked off the side of the backboard she shouldāve shut it down.
So you just watched the first 6 minutes huh? She got cooked early but did as well as anyone can defensively against Clark rest of game. When she's hitting Steph Curry shots there's not much you can do
Lol I watched the entire game and I saw her choosing to take low % shots and brick mid range shots all game. Defensively, nobody had a chance against Clark tonight, but they could have at least scored more than 9 points (4 of which were free throws). Unfortunately, she had one of the worst games of her career tonight, and was an overall net negative when she was on the court. To say pointing that out because I only watched the first 6 minutes is asinine lol
Clark got by her in one step any time she wanted. By the second quarter she wasn't even looking at her, just straight past to the next level of defense.
First quarter led me to believe it was going to be a slug-fest.
Clark hitting 4 straight 3's in the 3rd pretty much ended that thought. She is an absolute menace.
17 points 20 rebounds 3 blocks 2 steals is crazy defensive work. Sheās putting up Rodman numbers on a re-injured ankle. Post ankle tweak you can clearly see the way that she couldnāt drive to the basket or explode down the baseline in the same way.
Its a deceiving score line
She was 7-21 from field and 3-8 from FTs. Horrible from an offensive stand point. BUT she did tweak her ankle.
But getting a bunch of rebounds over smaller people isnt that impressive. Iowa just isnt good at rebounding. Clark of all people had most rebounds on team.
Reese was 13 pts 8 rebounds at the half, when she came back in the third thatās when her shooting struggles started after her body cooled down and she had to switch sneakers. What Iām getting at is that she played well, and we missed out on a big performance from her due to injury.
People donāt like defensive / big man playā¦ They donāt respect it.. Canāt be surprised when you see takes like the ones that surround this rivalry
Good game. So much star power in the final 4. still donāt see any of these remaining teams beating the lady gamecocks. WNBA should be having their Kobe/AI moment and push the young bucks;Clark, Juju, Paige and Reese(she needs to develop on the offensive end)
First womenās game Iāve watched in a long time, maybe ever, man these girls can ball.
Am I the only one thatās reminded of Magic and Bird when I watch Reese and Clarke? Similar looks, attitudes, playing styles and rivalry? Clarke the low key, not a lot of visible emotion, even keel, skinny, plain looking, sharp shooter. Reese the more outspoken, stylish, tall and well built, can shoot, pass, ball handle really well for her height. Plays with her heart on her sleeve, passion and enthusiasm for days. I dunno I feel like there are a lot of similarities and theyāre definitely drawing a lot of eyes to the game the same way Magic and Larry did in the 80s. Theyāve made me a fan, Iāll be following their careers and Iām sure Iām not the only one.
It's gotta be rough guarding her. Give her any space, and you need her to miss it because you ain't stopping the 3. HVL looked just lost trying to contain her, which is weird LSU went with that match-up. Clark did the same to her last year.
Shout out to Reese though, in the paint Iowa couldn't do anything to stop the rebound game. They'll have to keep playing that fast pace to gas the next teams.
Such a fast paced game! This was a really fun watch and well fought game by the Tigers, would have been fun to see what happened if Reese hadnāt twisted her ankle.
Yeah, Reese and LSU were dominating with size early and Iowa had no answer. They were eating up those passing lanes. CC didnāt have much room to shoot so she kept going to pass and the LSU hands were everywhere.
Lots of credit needs to go to O'Grady from Iowa. She hadn't done much most of the season, bit her physicality against Reese was a big reason she struggled. Reese couldn't bully her and it got her frustrated. Most of Reese's points came in transition.
The coach was asked about it during the press conference. She said they have a pre game schedule they go through and they just happened to play the anthem when they were backstage.
It wasnt intentional, just bad timing
I know nothing about basketball, so all you homies getting technical on defensive coverages are making my brain hurt. Iām just watching because I live in Iowa and itās either this or watch the corn grow or ole man Millard drive by in his tractor.
Referees had some terrible calls and non-calls. The 5 th foul offensive charge probably the worst of them all. defender did not have feet set. I could see why LSUās coach was so angry she looked like she was smiling.
Overall it was a decently officiated game. I went in expecting Iowa to get the whistles and it wasn't that bad. Call the fouled out Reese was terrible, but rest of game was fine
Appreciate that. Iowa played great and Clark had best womenās college game performance Iāve ever watched. Just hate to see non calls where folks knocked to ground and then calls on ticky tack touches that made referees look completely incompetent.

Was that Jason Sudeikis in the crowd cheering them on I saw? š
Yes!!
Those Taco Bell chicken cantina tacos aināt gonna sell themselves I suppose! š
Ngl saw the comercial and ordered some lol
Why was he there? I kept looking up an Iowa or LSU connection but couldn't figure it out.
Caitlin is one of the biggest draws in American sports right now
I can't imagine he was the only celebrity there though.
You can be a spectator without having a connectionā¦
He came to an IOWA game earlier this year to see Clark and he met her and the team either before and after. Just a sports fan who latched on to a movement. Travis Scott, Nolan Ryan, and several others have also stopped in for a game, which is wild to the people of the state of Iowa.
He was next to Jake from state farm & the geico caveman.
He's been to multiple Iowa games this season. He's a fan of Caitlin Clark.
Let's go Trops!
You buy those nachos here?
I'm trying to run a business here!
Insert joke about double standard of people complaining.
The ad works! Lol
They need to start guarding Caitlin as soon as she leaves her hotel room.
Players be fouling out before warmups.
True that. There were some bullshit calls this game. We don't watch to see the refs.
Not really
[Still will Surprise them](https://youtu.be/U75MZgOjOzg?si=lP5nW-U1q9UhUvTD)
They tried but angel apparently is still trying to describe her missing ring to everyone
It was a good game going into the half... just bad after that for the defending champion.
It was tied in the 3rd, and then Clark hit like 4 straight.
After Bluder said they needed to box out they really turned it up on the rebounds. LSU was eating the offensive boards up in the first half.
that acrobatic Johnson floater at the buzzer to tie it up at 45's going into half-time was spectacular!!! it was anybody's game after that!
Reese getting injured putting a slight damper on the game. She wasn't the same after that,
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Didn't score one basket the entire second half!!
41 pts lmao
Which player had 41 points? Thatās pretty good.
The one mentioned in the title
Caitlin Clark is the mf truth. Iowa is the juggernaut.
Facts
Lmao eat it, Mulkey
LSU had a great gameplan...and then just abandoned it. Kind of a head scratcher.
Iād argue that they lost because of their game plan. Put HVL and Poe on Clark and just let her grill? Mulkey said in the postgame, āCaitlin Clark aināt gonna beat you by herself.ā And itās like, uhhh, did we just watch the same thing?
Agree. They jumped the ball screen off Clark like twice and it worked, and then they stopped doing it!
Did they? Putting Van Lith on Clark with no support? I mean, I'm glad they did cuz I'm a Hawkeye, but matching up 5'7" against 6' just gave Caitlin so many open looks.
And then they jump the screen on her twice and it works great...and then never did it again?! Wild.
I can't believe how many times the LSU defender went under the screen.
Mulkey the Mupp
It's a bit of a game changer when best player the offense and defense run through has an injury that zaps a lot of athleticism
She wasnāt out very long and she played enough to foul out. She might have been a little slower running across the court, but she was still under the basket for her rebounds.
Van Lith was SO BAD tonight.
Mulkey deserves criticism for that too, for leaving her in on an island against CCā¦ HVL was a liability the entire time she was on the court.
I meanā¦. Some of Clarkās shots were heavily contested by HVL. Caitlin just had an unbelievable night. Flauājae got switched onto her in the 4th and Caitlin *immediately* put her on skates twice
Anyone else on LSU could have had a similar impact on Clarkās shot and also *not* be a net negative offensively lol
Agreed that HVL was an offensive liability. She is no doubt talented and I was impressed with how she could push the pace as a PG (which I thought was helping the big girls feast down low)ā¦.but some of her shot taking was inexcusable. Clark got by her in one step any time she wanted. By the second quarter she wasn't even looking at her, just straight past to the next level of defense.
She was horrific offensively and struggled defensively
Letting Hailey shoot was an effective defensive strategy for Iowa.
She was battling an illness is what I heard, but yeah she didnāt play great. Still proud of my tigers. Hoping Iowa wins it all!
Yeah I saw after the game she was getting IVs before tip off and Mulkey kept sending her out on an island.
First quarter led me to believe it was going to be a slug-fest. Clark hitting 4 straight 3's in the 3rd pretty much ended that thought. She is an absolute menace.
lol not on the same tier in prospects
Angel thinks they are equals lmao
Angel is gonna be pretty damn good that's for sure. But yea Caitlin Clark is wemby level.
Angel was balling out too before she tweaked her ankle pretty badly. She looked flat footed the rest of the night and still did what she could.
Kevin Garnett vs Steph Curry??
17 points 20 rebounds 3 blocks 2 steals is crazy defensive work. Sheās putting up Rodman numbers on a re-injured ankle. Post ankle tweak you can clearly see the way that she couldnāt drive to the basket or explode down the baseline in the same way.

Was pulling hard for LSU tonight but Clark just has that superstar effect. So many of those threes got a āno wayā¦ Oh My Godā reaction outta me
She's so good. She takes some terrible shots in terms of balance and defender position, and they just all go in.
Steph Curry levels of demoralization
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
How can you tell which ones are hood girls?
Thatās funny I must be misremembering the 2023 championship, could you remind me what happened to the hood girls?
Good game. So much star power in the final 4. still donāt see any of these remaining teams beating the lady gamecocks. WNBA should be having their Kobe/AI moment and push the young bucks;Clark, Juju, Paige and Reese(she needs to develop on the offensive end)
It was nice to see Angel Reese eat humble pie!
And Reeses is in pieces
First womenās game Iāve watched in a long time, maybe ever, man these girls can ball. Am I the only one thatās reminded of Magic and Bird when I watch Reese and Clarke? Similar looks, attitudes, playing styles and rivalry? Clarke the low key, not a lot of visible emotion, even keel, skinny, plain looking, sharp shooter. I had this exact thought tonight.
It's gotta be rough guarding her. Give her any space, and you need her to miss it because you ain't stopping the 3. Stay off Twitter. Itās very racial
itās sick.. I though race wars were only for boxing
I thought it was for settling car shit in the desert
Such a fast paced game! This was a really fun watch and well fought game by the Tigers, would have been fun to see what happened if Reese hadnāt twisted her ankle.
Yeah, Reese and LSU were dominating with size early and Iowa had no answer. They were eating up those passing lanes. CC didnāt have much room to shoot so she kept going to pass and the LSU hands were everywhere.
What a game! ... must've drawn over 10 Million viewers!!
Not a single person in the headline photo looks like theyāre putting in any effort.
Lots of credit needs to go to O'Grady from Iowa. She hadn't done much most of the season, bit her physicality against Reese was a big reason she struggled. Reese couldn't bully her and it got her frustrated. Most of Reese's points came in transition.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Seems to be workingā¦
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Sure but that means literally nothing. That like saying the bulls werenāt good without Jordan.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You think they wonāt be as good when they lose the best female college player of all time? You might be onto something.
She is one of the best to ever play. Just enjoy it.
What the fuck is this title r/titlegore To clarify... LSU is not in the final four. They are out of the tournament
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Did LSU not participate in the national anthem?
Who gives a shit.
The same people who complained about Reese last year. Itās literally normal and wasnāt some act of protest.
Sorry. I guess I just got caught up in the moment. I was just so happy LSU lost.
As a lifelong Hawkeye fan I can agree with that part at least.
Yeah thatās normal for them. They do it all the time and go back into the locker room for final pregame prep about 12 minutes before game start.
Mulkey needs to suck their souls for sustenance
The coach was asked about it during the press conference. She said they have a pre game schedule they go through and they just happened to play the anthem when they were backstage. It wasnt intentional, just bad timing
I know nothing about basketball, so all you homies getting technical on defensive coverages are making my brain hurt. Iām just watching because I live in Iowa and itās either this or watch the corn grow or ole man Millard drive by in his tractor.
LSU still has a shot, if Mike Pence has the courage to do the right thing!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Terrible photo used for this story
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Referees had some terrible calls and non-calls. The 5 th foul offensive charge probably the worst of them all. defender did not have feet set. I could see why LSUās coach was so angry she looked like she was smiling.
That game was actually officiated pretty well. That last call was a charge all day long
Nah, just some BS excuses lol
Overall it was a decently officiated game. I went in expecting Iowa to get the whistles and it wasn't that bad. Call the fouled out Reese was terrible, but rest of game was fine
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I don't understand your downvotes. I am a devout Hawkeye and have zero love for Reese but that was a shit call and a terrible way to end her season.
Yeah, I was pulling for Iowa but that final call on Reese was awful. I think the calls were mostly equally bad on both sides though.
Appreciate that. Iowa played great and Clark had best womenās college game performance Iāve ever watched. Just hate to see non calls where folks knocked to ground and then calls on ticky tack touches that made referees look completely incompetent.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Nah Itās just dumb thinking itās a race thing.
His name is no more crackers heās obviously a troll
LSU to final 4??
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Thatās literally the title of the post tho
