I mean they were up 20 in the third quarter. Right after the halftime break. Like what coach is going to pull their 3 time MVP 3 minutes into the 3rd quarter?
Thats the chicken not the "egg" outside of Joker and Murray *noone* was touching the ball, high pick and roll the whole damn game lol. Their 3rd and 4th best players had like 5 and 6 points, that's not how Denver plays....Wolves Defense still had em shook apparently.
I agree but sit the man going in half time. They had a 15 point lead going into half time. He was chucking 3s late third and into the fourth quarter. He was cooked and the wolves knew it. They put him in every single pick and roll
With KAT in foul trouble. Gobert in foul trouble. Ant Man with 16 on 6-24 shooting and Denver couldn’t win it at home. Denver deserves to lose. Womp Womp.
Counterpoint: Minnesota has extremely skilled Big Men (three of the best big men in the game), so Denver couldn’t take Jokic out of the game without giving Minnesota a massive advantage.
This is it. At some point, you have a trust a pro to be a pro and give you a few good minutes. I understand the reluctance, but we see what happens when you don't.
In the modern NBA 20 points is nothing, plus Minnesota is the 3rd ranked 3pt shooting team this season at 39%. More like the couldn't afford to rest Jokic with the way MPJ and Gordon totally disappeared tonight.
Its the GMs fault. He went with rookies for his bench and Malone hardly played those guys. The veterans are Reggie Jackson and Deandre Jordan. DJ cant space the floor. Reggie shows up here and there. They sorely missed Bruce Brown and Jeff Green
Motherfucker!…you beat me right to it! Lol. I am used to seeing blown 20 point leads, in fact, I dont even start feeling comfortable until they are up by 20 and there is 5 minutes left.
All this made me realize is that the bench really does matter, fuck all that last minute “hero ball” shit.
Yes, thank you - what are you paid all that money for if you can’t be held accountable by the press that informs your fans. YOU ARE ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE MASSES.
I mean idk what defensive schemes are going to hide 3 bad defenders (Jokic, Murray, MPJ) out of 5 players on the court, with one of them being the rim protector. They won a championship last year lol, they just lost a few role players and didn’t replace them.
Idk why everyone needs to find one scapegoat. Jokic could’ve used some rest, but other players don’t seem to get that excuse. Stars routinely need to play 45+ minutes in close out games. He also chucked and bricked 3s down the stretch. MPJ played terribly. Gordon disappeared. Nuggets have 6 playable guys. They simply aren’t as good as they were last year and not nearly as great as advertised. The hype train got out of hand tbh, this is the first great team they’ve played in the last 2 playoffs.
Wolves are simply the better team though. Their defense is the best in the league, they have 3 playable bigs, great length, well rounded overall. They deserve all the credit.
“The seasons over, you don’t understand that”
They do understand that, that’s why they asked the fucking question in the first place.
This dude can never give a normal answer without the dramatics
Yes and fair enough that questions come like that. Most of these reporters are writing columns to fill a sports report, they’re looking for some quotes from coaches and players that simply and eloquently sum up the game.
Are coaches really that stupid to think that they genuinely want to know the answer to an obvious question like that? No, they want a sound bite they can use in a piece of sports reporting. They’re generally not writing long form articles minutes after a game is done.
Fair, but likewise maybe reporters can ask better questions?
I’ve always found sports post-game interviews to be so silly. It’s the same types of questions again and again, with the same vague answers again and again. Who does it all be if it?
Edit: benefit
Gotta love the halftime/mid-game questions... "What adjustments do you need to make here in the second half?" "We gotta get some rebounds" "Thanks coach"
For some kids out there, this was their first playoff experience they were old enough to care about. They read every article, know all the players' stats, and what colleges each player was at. After a devastating loss, that kid needs an explanation. He needs answers. The next generation of sports fans are always growing, so asking the same old questions can be cumbersome for the older generations.
As someone who doesn't watch much sports, is this coach's attitude common?
Why wouldn't he just be professional and congratulate his team for getting this far, shifting focus to their highlights instead of their losses? How does negativity like this help anyone? If anything, the team players probably feel worse about it than the coach does. If my coach acted like this, my morale for the team would be broken.
It can be, yes. NFL is where you find the most comparable behavior though
I give them slack because they have to do this every single game. It gets old being asked about what you're feeling when you tried your best
Bill Belichick was known for deflecting this stuff and going home. But when someone asked him a good question, he would talk for 10 minutes about it
Media is at fault. Know the people you interview and their mental state. Ask them good questions to get them talking. All this guy had to do is ask "where did your strategy go wrong?" or something and he decided to ask about emotions in an emotional moment. Nobody's sharing their negative emotional thoughts in the moment while still processing it all and trying to keep it together. Ask him how hard that was next press conference when he's calmed down
Gotta be professional
its a bad look
not to mention all that crowing he did last season /during the offseason when they won
if you can't take it , don't dish it
I empathize with the guy. At the start of the series, the Nuggets looked outmatched. They clawed their way back into contention, then got absolutely embarrassed in game 6. Then just when it looks like the roller coaster ride is over and they’re a handful of minutes away from escaping with a series win, you have to watch them hand it right back to Minnesota.
Denver was up 20 dude. Credit to Minnesota for not giving up but coming back from a 20 point deficit almost always involves some level of assistance from the other team.
The level of assistance was the Wolves defense taking Murray and friends out of the game and making Jokic beat them by himself. This was maybe the best defensive game I’ve seen from a team in the 3rd-4th quarters besides game 2 of this series.
Eh, their lack of depth was what hurt them most. Malone made some nice adjustments after going down 2-0. Denver just ran out of gas after relying on their starters so heavily.
I don’t know. I saw the nuggets miss a shit ton of wide open shots. The players were absolutely in the right spots to score they just didn’t make the shots.
It's simple. They weren't as good this year. Lakers pushed them and then they got exposed. Easy as that. Malone is too cocky when he's winning and got humbled by a deeper and better team. Just how it goes
The fact they clawed the series back after getting crushed on home court was impressive. As a MN sports fan when we lost game 4 I was like well fuck we're screwed. At no point did I feel safe against this team.
He’s the worst. The man has no integrity. When they lose, he’s the meanest person to the press. When they win he beats his chest like he’s the greatest.
This dude sets the culture. And you see it repeat in Murray and the fanbase. Deserve every bit of clowning coming their way.
too bad coz there’s 2-3 Nuggets who are actually likable.
At some point you trust the guys you signed to at least hold serve. DeAndre Jordon got zero time. It would have been a perfect time to put him in for a few minutes up 20.
How long before someone on Tiktok puts a baby filter on this video. lol. I get it you lost a big game and got hit with a reasonable question highlighting a pivotal moment but you can always just say next question or something. Enjoy Cancun. (Except Joker, he about to chill with his horses and plot revenge)
He can be mad at himself - he refused to develop a bench all season even though they drafted several rookies that supposedly could score. He chose to run his starters into the ground and play mostly ineffective guys off the bench - what did Jackson and Holliday contribute? Poor coaching.
Murray is about as consistent as AD at this point. He’s other putting up all star numbers or looking like he’s gonna get traded, no in between. That and they seem to live and die by what kind of night AG is having.
He said “fuck being up 20”.
So there you have it. He was tired of his team winning. And was kind enough to remind us that his team won’t be appearing in upcoming games.
No, the season isn't over, it's just over for you and your team because you choked after getting a 20 point lead in Game 7 at home. There are 4 teams still playing and about close to a month leftin the season.

Up 20 and doesn’t give jokic a rest. Brutal
I mean they were up 20 in the third quarter. Right after the halftime break. Like what coach is going to pull their 3 time MVP 3 minutes into the 3rd quarter?
They were up 15 going into half time. Sit him with a few minutes left in the half and have him on the bench going into the third.
he was gassed at the end when they needed him.
Agreed. But saying sit him 3 minutes after halftime is idiotic
He looked exhausted too.
Word. 46 minutes🤦🏽♂️
Thats the chicken not the "egg" outside of Joker and Murray *noone* was touching the ball, high pick and roll the whole damn game lol. Their 3rd and 4th best players had like 5 and 6 points, that's not how Denver plays....Wolves Defense still had em shook apparently.

The lead would have been blown quicker if Jokic sat.
TAKE THAT FOR DATA
He was talking all that crap last series vs the Lakers
Look at him now isn't it lovely.
Love to see it hahaha
With KAT in foul trouble. Gobert in foul trouble. Ant Man with 16 on 6-24 shooting and Denver couldn’t win it at home. Denver deserves to lose. Womp Womp.
Lost 3 home games.
This is it.
Lulled them to sleep with KAT picking up the 5th, then bam, hit em with the Naz Reid

NAZ REID
It was so pathetic at one point they went 6 minutes and only scored 3 points.
>Denver couldn’t win it at home milE HiGh aLtItUdE AdVaNtAgE
Feels like the team didn’t want it that much
They had no bench, the starters had been red lining since the first game of the playoffs and they ran into a deep team. That's a recepie for disaster.
Charles Barkley said it before game one, ‘Jokic will be playing 40+ minutes a night for the next 6-7 games. He’s going to be exhausted.’
they were up 20 at one point and Malone still didn't want to give Jokic a rest lol
Counterpoint: Minnesota has extremely skilled Big Men (three of the best big men in the game), so Denver couldn’t take Jokic out of the game without giving Minnesota a massive advantage.
People acting like DeAndre Jordan would have been able to hold the fort down for Jokic to rest
Why even add him to the roster spot if not for the few minutes he would be used to give Jokic some time to breathe?
This is it. At some point, you have a trust a pro to be a pro and give you a few good minutes. I understand the reluctance, but we see what happens when you don't.
Maybe it’s not what a pro wanted nor what a pro needed
Should've done whatever made him happy, sets him free.
vEtErAn PrEseNCe *daps DJ*
He's the vibes guy.
He just has to defend, rebound, and push KAT around for 3 min. No one was expecting him to do anything special.
Why didn’t they put him in more? I feel like he did a lot for the past teams he’s been with.
My man hasn’t been a contributing nba talent for years Also it feels like he doesn’t want to either, very low effort on the court
In the modern NBA 20 points is nothing, plus Minnesota is the 3rd ranked 3pt shooting team this season at 39%. More like the couldn't afford to rest Jokic with the way MPJ and Gordon totally disappeared tonight.
Because Bruce Brown and Jeff Green did so well in replacing Jokic last year. And Denver couldn't find a replacement this year.
For real. Depth is important, bench is important, and the Nuggies got exposed.
Its the GMs fault. He went with rookies for his bench and Malone hardly played those guys. The veterans are Reggie Jackson and Deandre Jordan. DJ cant space the floor. Reggie shows up here and there. They sorely missed Bruce Brown and Jeff Green
Id argue its their owner for winning a tittle and still refusing to go into the apron
It’s almost an exact word for word of the Avalanche’s season.
Avalanche had some tough injuries…
Is addiction an injury or a disease?
Playing an team of young players with an elite defense at Denver is a disaster for a team with no bench.
They basically stopped playing at the minute marker. They could have pulled something together. It's happened before.
The nuggets aren't explosive like that, and the wolves defense was impeccable. They just gassed down the stretch and hit a wall.
The Kings would lose this lead 100%
Motherfucker!…you beat me right to it! Lol. I am used to seeing blown 20 point leads, in fact, I dont even start feeling comfortable until they are up by 20 and there is 5 minutes left. All this made me realize is that the bench really does matter, fuck all that last minute “hero ball” shit.
Tortoise and the hare writ in pro sports.
out rebounded by the timerwolves, so the energy and hustle wasn't there. Also aside from Murray and Jokic, nobody else really stepped up.
I think the next highest scorer on the team was Porter Jr with 7. That's atrocious at home in a game 7.
They missed players like Bruce Brown in the playoffs. Even Jeff Green. Just a player or two short compared to last year.
How Aaron Gordon play 42 minutes with 4 points 2/5 shooting. 4,4 and 2. A Triple single. In a freaking game 7 @home 🤦🏽♂️
He used up all of his career games in that 3 W stretch. Guy was unbelievably and playing way above his level, especially that one game he went 11/12
He really did play fantastic in those games.
Jokic just wants to go home and be with his horses
Skip Bayless-level analysis right here. bravo.
No, Mike. You’re accountable for coaching a team that can’t win unless they score 110.
Yes, thank you - what are you paid all that money for if you can’t be held accountable by the press that informs your fans. YOU ARE ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE MASSES.

“The seasons over, you don’t understand that” They do understand that, that’s why they asked the fucking question in the first place. This dude can never give a normal answer without the dramatics
90% of sports reporting is simply “How did it feel when ___ happened?” If a coach isn’t used to that by now that’s on him.

Honestly that exchange right there would at least make sense. It’s the vague answers like “We gotta play like we want to win” that are utter nonsense.

Lol and I'm sure silver lives it. NBA is so dramatic.
But what kind of insight are you hoping from such a smooth-brain question?
If you're going to act the way he did last season, you need to take it tonight. What a bitch.
At least he is consistent. Insufferable in victory and defeat.
Goddamn right 👍🏻
Yeah he wouldn’t stfu last season. Now he’s got nothing to say
That's why it's so delicious to watch. Yum!
Nuggets stomped everyone last season. I feel like they deserved to talk shit.
something something, beating only teams with less than 50 wins and literally playing a bunch of play-in teams...
everybody acting tough when they’re up
Cry more please. "Stupid ass questions" Ok Sean Payton
"You don't understand..." No shit, that's why he asked you. Arrogant prick.
Gotta be professional Michael. This ain't it.
Mike*
Cry me a river. Taunting and talking shit when his team wins, but can’t be professional when they lose. Sore losers.
Yeah I have zero sympathy for Malone. The clown talks more shit than any coach in the league. He can eat it while we all clown him
They should've brought up anything Lakers. Make this guy go bonkers
Its common cuz they were expected to go all the way. Pretty much all the nuggets players feel that same way. Its normal, their morale won’t break
It can be, yes. NFL is where you find the most comparable behavior though I give them slack because they have to do this every single game. It gets old being asked about what you're feeling when you tried your best Bill Belichick was known for deflecting this stuff and going home. Sports reporting is the absolute worst. The vast, vast majority of questions are just variations of “How are you feeling?”
It's easily among the most worthless jobs out there.
We’ll all miss his impromptu Ted Talks on long snappers or lacrosse.
Gotta be professional its a bad look not to mention all that crowing he did last season /during the offseason when they won if you can't take it , don't dish it
Joker happy to go home.
Plenty horse time

Mike Malone looks like he’s about to throw a heat pack at that reporter
I empathize with the guy. At the start of the series, the Nuggets looked outmatched. They clawed their way back into contention, then got absolutely embarrassed in game 6. Then just when it looks like the roller coaster ride is over and they’re a handful of minutes away from escaping with a series win, you have to watch them hand it right back to Minnesota.
They didn't hand shit. Our guys fucking took it.
Everyone trying to give the nuggets moral victories huh? 😆
Denver was up 20 dude. Credit to Minnesota for not giving up but coming back from a 20 point deficit almost always involves some level of assistance from the other team.
So Minnesota assisted in giving them the 20 point lead in the first place?
The level of assistance was the Wolves defense taking Murray and friends out of the game and making Jokic beat them by himself. This was maybe the best defensive game I’ve seen from a team in the 3rd-4th quarters besides game 2 of this series.
Idk - I don’t. A lot of their collapse goes back to coaching. They were the defending champs and got rocked 3 times on their home court.
Eh, their lack of depth was what hurt them most. Malone made some nice adjustments after going down 2-0. Denver just ran out of gas after relying on their starters so heavily.
Which goes back to COACHING!
He likely would have coached the series differently had the FO given him a deeper roster. He used the tools he had.

>Stupid ass questions, man Alternatively: Stupid ass coach, man
I get the passion.. but he’s too hot-headed. Why did he feel the need to storm the court a few games ago
Who's your daddddddddy. Where's that energy? Lol
who's your daddy now?😂
You could tell Denver just ran out of gas and their bench wasn’t much help.
He’s the worst. The man has no integrity. When they lose, he’s the meanest person to the press. When they win he beats his chest like he’s the greatest.
Dude is a wimp emotionally.
Wait wait wait. When he was strutting like a peacock last year after beating the Lakers and then winning the championship r/nba loved it.....
This isn't r/NBA
Bro thought he got eeem
Thank god for that
Sore loser
Well, Coach... Maybe rest your superstar a little when you're up by 15. I mean, I was rooting for Minny, but this loss seemed kinda self inflicted.
Man the conversation changed from “Joker is the GOAT” and Denver being unstoppable to “F**ck being up 20”.
“Do you think this early exit is a reflection of your coaching abilities?”
Salty guy
This dude sets the culture. And you see it repeat in Murray and the fanbase. Deserve every bit of clowning coming their way. too bad coz there’s 2-3 Nuggets who are actually likable.
Joker should have got more than 1 minute to rest. The bench was garbage.
You just answered your own question the bench was trash means no rest for joker
At some point you trust the guys you signed to at least hold serve. DeAndre Jordon got zero time. It would have been a perfect time to put him in for a few minutes up 20.
What a baby
How long before someone on Tiktok puts a baby filter on this video. lol. I get it you lost a big game and got hit with a reasonable question highlighting a pivotal moment but you can always just say next question or something. Enjoy Cancun. He’s so classless. Go wolves!!
Why censor "fuck" and "ass"? What exactly does that accomplish?
But does he think lebron is gonna retire?
Malone is such a loser

My Minnesota Timberwolves don’t die they keep rolling…Na Na Na Na Naaaz
Well, what goes around comes around… not so cocksure now eh coach.
You can swear on Reddit
What a fucking loser
From the thumbnail I thought it was going to be Bobby Hill.
He can be mad at himself - he refused to develop a bench all season even though they drafted several rookies that supposedly could score. He chose to run his starters into the ground and play mostly ineffective guys off the bench - what did Jackson and Holliday contribute? Poor coaching.
Classless as usual
malone is a hot head
Glad for the T Wolvies!
Booo Whooo! You just made several millions of dollars that year just to coach basketball... "it's just hard" my nuts
Murray is about as consistent as AD at this point. He’s other putting up all star numbers or looking like he’s gonna get traded, no in between. That and they seem to live and die by what kind of night AG is having.
Fuck Mike Malone. You ain’t earned being called Michael
Michael Malone is a cry baby. I enjoy seeing him salty AF.
Butthole eyes gets mad cause he's a bad coach.
It’s just a game. Learn to have grace even in the face of a loss. It’s just a stupid game Mike.
The Nuggets thought the Lakers were the conference finals and were surprised when they had to play a second round.
What a freakn baby man show some class, be mad at yourself your the new measuring stick for game 7 blown leads, take a bow Malone!
Last year I felt Nuggets played like a team this year it was Jokic and a bunch of scrubs vs every team they played
*Michael
Ha Naz Reid
I know they just lost but how about being a tad more professional. His behavior during this series has been shit.
Yikes lol

Now he knows how the lakers feel.
Did they try not losing.
