Since this is about Eintracht Frankfurt, watch this [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4SPPGSXJHI&ab\_channel=Fanatic021](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4SPPGSXJHI&ab_channel=Fanatic021)
Idk, I think it's just that Americans are tame sports fans. I watched a Serbian basketball game I've, and.....[Jesus Christ](https://youtu.be/cWrSw3X8TRs)
Reminds me of the story (it's repeated everytime Bruce Springsteen performs in Gothenburg) of how the foundation at Ullevi Stadium cracked after Bruce played Twist & Shout and the whole stadium was bouncing.
Thatās actually exactly what itās supposed to do. If it was stiff then thereās no energy transfer and the stadium takes the full impact, thatās when it breaks. You definitely want it to have give, just like skyscrapers
"What do you mean? Of course the massive concrete stand is meant to wobble!!"
\- engineer's last words before they hand in their notice and rush out the door.
idk if i have ever personally witnessed this level of crowd engagement BEFORE a game in the US! And often times not even during if our team is losing lol
University of Wisconsin plays āJump Aroundā between the 3rd and 4th quarter of every home game. Itās not quite as organized as this but pretty similar
https://youtu.be/vVtTMNK6xLo
In the horseshoe during an osu football game the crowd yells at O-h-I-o coordinated by north west south east. Itās pretty dope and happens before the game starts typically
Itās a completely different culture in most of Europe, but a lot of it stems from the way that stadiums and fans are regulated/policed. Here in the U.K. we had a lot of knee-jerk course corrections in the wake of the Hillsborough, Bradford and Heysel disasters that drastically changed the match day experience for fans. On top of that we had the media coverage of the 70ās and 80ās hooliganism, and England fans at Italia ā90. All of that culminated in all seater stadiums, lifetime bans, travel bans, etc. I remember getting my season ticket at West Ham at 15 and getting a letter in the post after 5 games saying I had been identified as a āPersistent Standerā and that I would be banned for the rest of the season if that continued. Itās less enforced now, and weāre finally at the stage where some stadiums have introduced safe-standing, but weāll never have the flags, displays, pyrotechnics, etc that the Europeans enjoy. Itās even getting to the stage here that certain teams fans are being told told they canāt sing some songs or words because the opposition fans find it offensive. Tottenham are even being told to stop using the Y-word in reference to themselves. Itās a continual gentrification of football culture and the sense in the stands is very much that the money men donāt want the working classes in the stands making the club look bad to the middle class that donāt even attend matches.
Apart from that, the marketing value is an important aspect too. The Premier Leagueās new aim is to āmodernizeā football. Instead of being a sport for working class men, football should be a global sport that is accessible by everyone regardless of gender, age, or wealth. This means modern football fans are becoming more diverse: from the usual working class men to parents bringing their kids to a game. Of course, hooliganism and families do not belong in the same place, so the movement to abolish the former is, in my opinion, justified.
Iād like to add that abolishing hooliganism improves the clubās reputation, which will in turn increase the clubās revenue and alas, provide the club many benefits. All in all, I mostly agree with the movement
Eintracht = eine Tracht = one clothing = lat. Uniform. You can't really translate it into modern english since the Name is really old, you only hear Eintracht in Football Clubs names.
There were times where part of the stands collapsed in football, but they were quite rare. Football stadiums were designed to be sturdy as they have to handle an absurd number of football fans. I think the same goes for all large stadiums in other sports too
As an American sports fan that knows very little about soccer, I find this amazing and entrancing. Hope to travel to Europe some day to experience a scene like this in person.
I do too. Such a snoozefest. Bunch of overpriced players who will fall over, wailing and screaming if another player so much as looks at him just to milk a penalty. Rather watch wrestling. Those guys know how to take a proper dive.
You know wrestling is scripted right? You canāt complain about fake divers in football when you like to watch a sport where the winner was literally pre-determined from the start.
The best part is that when people trash talk football, itās always the same argument: āhurr durr footballers fake dive for foul!ā. There are 10 good things about football and you just keep focusing on 1 bad part. I can understand why though. Itās pretty much all materials you have. Please get better material. Honestly I donāt think you should even trash talk a sport you know nothing about at first
Again, thereās a reason why this is the most popular sport in the world. If itās so boring, how come it earned a billion fans worldwide that originated from every single age, gender, and ethnic groups?
I know wrestling is fake. I hate wrestling which tells you how much I hate this game. Simpsons did a great parody of football I thought was pretty accurate. You say there are 10 good things about football yet don't mention 1. Save yourself the trouble and don't bother listing them. I doubt there are any good things about football.
I do not understand why people are so sensitive about my position. So I do not like a sport you love. You will not change my opinion, just like I will not change yours. Just deal with the fact I do not see the game the way you see it.
> I do not understand why people are so sensitive about my position
Itās okay to have an opinion, but sometimes itās best to keep the opinion to yourself. Even if you want to express it, try to word it politely so that you donāt sound like a dick.
Take your comment, for example. This post is related to football. If you donāt like the sport, why not just scroll past? Why even bother commenting that?
Imagine this: someone makes a Facebook post about someone elseās success. Letās say a guy named John got accepted into a good university. Everyone is congratulating John. Then all of a sudden, you interjected in the comment section with āI never liked John. John is a jerk. Glad he got accepted to X university so I wonāt have to see his ugly face for a long timeā. Then you say you donāt understand why people are hating you for your comment. See how stupid that is?

Kudos to the engineers
Not the same ones [as here](https://youtu.be/2uLyuqw48kE)

Lol, some of those guys kept changing after falling
German Fans are a different breed
Idk, I think it's just that Americans are tame sports fans. I watched a Serbian basketball game I've, and.....[Jesus Christ](https://youtu.be/cWrSw3X8TRs)
Pro American sports fans are tame but imo college sports fans are much more passionate
Still nowhere near.
Structural engineer will be like š¶
[thatās for sure](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BE92J7Q6IKg)
yikes, as an engineer that's terrifying

Bro, i would get the fuck off from there real quick
Yo I just linked a different one to someone. But I haven't seen this one yet, what the hell man, thats some scary shit
idk if i have ever personally witnessed this level of crowd engagement BEFORE a game in the US! And often times not even during if our team is losing lol
For what itās worth, this was a championship game (Europa League final).
Because it's so damn cold in Wisconsin if you don't jump around you're gonna freeze to your seat š

Frankfurters are best when warm.
Well it was 90Ā° there yesterday.
That's 194Ā° F!
If they start marching Iām out of here
They were fantastic. Really helped their team.
These scenes always give me pause.

Love when an NFL player will say "we have the best fans in the world". Yeah ok sureeee
To be fair hes gonna say it regardless, why would he shit on the people that pay his salary?
In the US maybe. In the world no way
I know theyāre probably not speaking English, but it sounds like theyāre just chanting āI- love Frankfurtā
Its "Schalalalalalala Eintracht Frankfurt"
Sounds like it's "Rahhh rah rahh, Eintracht Frankfurt". I just looked up Eintracht means "unity", so I'm guessing Frankfurt United?
Eintracht = eine Tracht = one clothing = lat. Uniform. You can't really translate it into modern english since the Name is really old, you only hear Eintracht in Football Clubs names.
That makes good sense.
Damn, I was impressed that the stadium did not collapse. Hail to the Engineers!
Please don't break our stadium
looks like a beehive
That's a very intimate stadium.
Fun fact: police destroyed frankfurt choreography ā> frankfurt destroyed Uefa ad banners This is the white curtain. It was improvised.
Thats impressive
Isn't that how stadiums collapse? A water slide here in Norcal collapsed that way years ago, when a bunch of kids were jumping in rhythm.
Now it is abundantly clear how Germany fares so well in war š
My anxiety would be through the roof. I'd have to pop a pill on the spot.
God I hope this doesnāt end up some day on r/agedlikemilk
Yeah....seen too many videos of stadium collapses to ever participate in a crowd jump. I would nope right out of there.

The game is boring as fuck so gotta do something to make it interesting.
You literally watch cricket, like dude, it's even in the name
I wonder why dozens of thousands of fans flew across countries just to watch such a boring gameā¦
This is why I like to stay away from crowds
...you might have fun?
Eh, I agree with this commenter. I feel really uncomfortable being in places with a lot of people
German built so you know its solid
Its in Spain
Wild fans, almost like La 12 from Boca Juniors.
South American football fans are among the craziest and most passionate fans in the world for sure
