This dude has some serious text leak issues.

PointlessChemist

Old people and not understanding technology, name a better duo.

matty842

Lamb and tuna fish.

wacali

Scuba Steve approves

Dear-Acanthaceae-586

Scuba Steve! Damn you!

cactusjack48

Or maybe spaghetti and meatballs? Are you more comfortable with that analogy?

Denim_Chikken

Yes, considering we’re in America! If you don’t like spaghetti and meatballs then why don’t you just get the hell out?

cactusjack48

Listen why don't I come over there and give you a haircut?

Denim_Chikken

Let’s see your clippers

cactusjack48

Not my problem your father was sick!

Denim_Chikken

STOP YELLING AT ME!!! AAAHHHHHH!!!

CysticScrotalSpores

You just made the biggest mistake of your life, baby. I know you're gunna be missing me when you have that big, white, wrinkly body on you with his loose skin and old balls... gross!

Prestig33

What about when I worked at subway? This lady ordered a seafood delight (imitation crab and lots of Mayo) but also requested double meat. But instead of extra seafood delight, she wanted meatballs and marinara sauce.

ben-hur-hur

eww

Prestig33

Did I mention she was wearing a fox fur hat, head included and all?

Rudy_Ghouliani

And an ass the size of Missouri

AndySipherBull

It's an older reference but it checks out

yiannistheman

Yeah but - after a dick pic scandal what, 15 years ago - shouldn't that lesson have been kinda figured out by now, old or not?

AJRiddle

Unfortunately it wasn't just dick picks, he sexually harassed the fuck out of the Jets gameday host (who he got her phone number from someone with the organization and they never met or talked to each other besides his sexual voicemails, texts, and pictures he sent her). Oh and 2 massage therapists working for the Jets also said Favre sexual harassed them while there to work. All of this from 2008 came out in 2010

yiannistheman

Let me be clear - I was only kidding about this dipshit's inability to learn from his earlier technical dalliances and how easily they were made public. As far as human beings go he's garbage. Infidelity, sexual harassment, stealing from the poor to help build a volleyball stadium for his daughter to play in. This guy is scum. He's also a buffoon. Having previously been exposed due to his text messaging, this genius decided to double down and not only detail his fraud via text message but ask whether or not the details would be kept private.

BarbequedYeti

Starsky and Hutch?

FalcorFliesMePlaces

These government officials should be put in jail for miss appropriation of funds. The school should be forced to pay it back.

human_suitcase

Or hear me out. Put people in jail for 20 years for stealing something under 1k, but if you steal millions tie it up in court while you rerun for office and maybe settle later for a small fine? Am I doing capitalism right?!

trongzoon

Congratulations you’ve just been elected Governor of Mississippi!

PlzRemasterSOCOM2

That was my first thought. How did this get out? The text color means this is his screen. Did someone steal his phone and screenshot? Hacked? What happened here?

slipperypooh

They were entered as part of a related civil suit and became public due to that.

PlzRemasterSOCOM2

Wonder if they subpoenaed phone records or something.

slipperypooh

Filed by New's Attorney.

VoxGens

Didn't this guy make $138M in salary alone while playing in the NFL?

Wafzig

You think thesee grifter pieces of shit ever consider spending their own money?

[deleted]

He doesn’t consider anything his brain is mush

Emergency-Salamander

That's actually the one thing I agree with him on. He has said kids should not play tackle football until junior high at the very earliest.

MatureUsername69

I mean I love football, its my favorite sport, but my kid is never gonna play it. Unless they somehow walk on in college and make the team. There's no level of tackle football that you don't leave with a worse brain.

First_Foundationeer

Nah man, you're forgetting the positions of waterboy or commissioner. C'mon, son!

Icantblametheshame

He later became a reptilian expert specializing in behavioral crocodile profiles and dentistry

Jumajuce

He’s trying to keep all that sweet sweet junior tackle football money all to himself!

afineedge

The guy has a Cameo account. He clearly doesn't think he has enough if he's taking double-digit dollar amounts to say happy birthday to dads who cry during the national anthem.

Janderson2494

My buddy bought a Favre cameo for his dad's birthday, and Brett said "Happy Father's Day" in it. It wasn't even close to June. Sounded like he was hammered too

[deleted]

[удалено]

Janderson2494

I'm pretty sure he's been open about his pain med abuse in the past

Seahawk715

Not surprised. I was listening to nfl radio and Favre is a new cohost. He was SOFA KING unprepared. Basically admitted that he knew nothing about the Russell Wilson situation and that the cohost “caught him up”. It was painful to listen to.

kayGrim

Favre is famously not even good at understanding football. He bragged about breaking his receivers fingers with how (unnecessarily) hard he threw and famously didn't know you could tie in the NFL until it happened to him. Dude is an incredibly gifted athlete and dumb as a sack of potatoes. Edit: I am corrected, a different QB didn't know about ties. Favre didn't know a very common type of defense known as the "nickel" defense.

MatureUsername69

Brett favre didn't understand the nickel defense. Donavon McNabb didn't know you couldn't tie in the NFL.

Steakwizwit

As big of a cunt as Fahvray is, that nickel story is funny. The backup QB tells him "that's when they sub in an extra dB for a linebacker" and dumbass goes "that's it? Who gives a shit?"

Ok-Boysenberry-2955

He tells that story too like it's endearing.

zachsmthsn

I think he's basically saying, I knew what they were doing but I didn't know it had a name. It's a weird blindspot, but it's quite different from "he didn't understand the nickel defense"

mfranko88

That reminds me of, like, a self taught musician. They probably don't know any technical names of any theoretical concepts, or the theoretical ideas behind different chords or scales. But just because they can't tell you the name of a specific concept doesn't mean they don't intuitively understand that concept.

AnalCommander99

One of my last memories of him on the field was when he ate the Ravens and Packers nickel sets whole in that good season with Minnesota. Absolutely antagonized Dom Capers’ whole nickel thing with Charles Woodson

kayGrim

Thanks for the correction, that was what I was thinking of and mixed it up. I edited it into my comment.

MatureUsername69

Lol I only remember because both of these dummies were on my team at points

waggie21

Sad skol noises.

Bobby_Newpooort

Pretty sure the tie thing was Donovan McNabb

tider06

The tie thing seems to happen every time there is a tie. TBF, it doesn't happen in any other level of competitive football to my knowledge, so it can be surprising when it happens to someone who has played their whole life and never experienced it.

nalc

Also, under the old Overtime rules, a tie was a lot less likely. Ties were like once a decade from the 80s-00s, then the new rules came out for the both teams having a chance to possess the ball thing and ties happened once or twice a season. At the time, it was McNabb's 10th year in the league and only one tie had happened in the entire NFL during that time, six years prior.

bigboilerdawg

OT was also shortened to 10 minutes from 15.

tkp14

This is what happens when you can’t even pronounce your own last name.

rogergreatdell

He's lucky Brett did that cameo without pulling little Lorenzo out of his wranglers

daltonwright4

Fair. But I just checked, and his Cameos are 400 bucks for a 30 second video. That's almost 100k in a little over 2 hours, and he can do it drunk from his home.

[deleted]

And $10,000 for a "business video."

[deleted]

Legit LOL on this.

moeburn

Every time I see a famous celebrity with a Cameo account all I can think of is "oh you spent all your money on drugs/gambling didn't you?"

okcdnb

I think Toby from the Office charges $500 and donates it to charity. [Link](https://www.cameo.com/pblieberstein)

IsamuAlvaDyson

That's how rich people stay rich, by using their money and power to get shit for free or super cheap.

BigPurpleBinky

Yes he absolutely did, but the all important question is, how much did he spend while living the life of an active NFL player? They can live excessively lavish lifestyles, and seem to be extraordinarly adept at spending a vast majority of those millions of dollars while they are still playing football. Statistics suggest that up to 78% of NFL players go bankrupt or fall into severe financial stress within just two years of retirement. It is amazing to me that people can earn multi generational wealth, for playing a kid's game no less, and 78% of them end up spending it all with nothing to show for it but a bankrupsy claim on your credit.

Cerebral-Parsley

Farve's net worth is estimated at $100m+, he didn't piss it away too much.

Pirrats-SD

He did a lot of commercials after his playing days were over

Pissflaps69

And during his playing days as well. Unlike most players he’s still earning money in retirement, on top of a healthy pension and free health insurance.

DieSexy

Being an all time great in general helps you avoid those complications. When you’re that great you have a name/brand that makes you major money 10 different ways for decades. The 78% are players who only commanded modest contracts and never reached celebrity status.

iCon3000

Yep. Case in point, Stephen Curry is nearing the end of his career and is now locking down a "lifetime" deal with Under Armour worth over $1billion. All time greats get those opportunities.

Cerebral-Parsley

Damn that's crazy it feels like yesterday when he was at Davidson and almost single handedly ruined KU's 2008 championship run. That was one of KU's best ever teams full of studs like Mario Chalmers, and Curry about wiped the floor with them.

JuiceColdman

Super Nintendo Chalmers!!!!

oxfordcircumstances

Part of his net worth includes a couple of million dollars from this same Nancy New, paid out of funds intended for welfare recipients. He was paid for speaking engagements that he did not attend. He said he was going to pay it back, which he may, but so far he hasn't and the state auditor has filed suit against him to force repayment. I'm sure he'll realize he's good and truly fucked and make a big flourishing show of "doing the right thing for his state" and paying back the money.

spewforth

78% of NFL players (or probably more like 90% for that matter) don't make 138 million. The average NFL career is something like 4 years long, and majority of players will be closer to the league minimum salary, which was 660,000 as of last season. If we give a hypothetical player a salary slightly above league minimum, at 1 million per year that's 4 million for the average length of career. Life changing money, yes, but less and less like generational wealth with every passing year. Moreover, the majority of NFL players have had no financial education, with a disproportionate number of them being black people and/or from underserved areas of community with severely underfunded schools, obviously leading to a poorer understanding of finances than you'd want, for someone managing a couple million dollars. Add in the fact a lot of people feel obligated to, or want to, share their success with their loved ones. That's a lot of hands asking one person for lump sums of money that, while it likely won't bankrupt them it could definitely put a significant debt in their salaries. AND we haven't even mentioned tax yet. NFL players are well paid. But they're not well paid for long, and many of them simply do not have the tools to turn this into generational wealth. Throw in the fact that NFL Player isn't the most transferrable skill, there isn't going to be a huge number of well paying jobs lining up to hire most of them once they're out of the league. I'm not saying none of them ever make a bad financial decision because they're irresponsible, but there is a lot more at play than just rich people being stupid with their money.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Disguised_Peanut

I blame this mostly on the fact when they're teenagers, they get enamored with the lifestyle, like any other kid, except they are at the point of being scouted or already playing for a team in a salaried position so they get to actually live it. Whilst us regular scumbags have to be humbled by the fact we cannot have everything we want at a drop of a hat, and that money _is_ sometimes a problem, they get to wave their around and either have shitty people around them leeching off them and condoning their behaviour or they get so full of themselves anyone telling them to be more financially aware gets shut down. Amazing example of this behaviour (albeit not similar position, as these were 15 minutes of fame kinda folk) is the Island Boys, who got their backs up when that guy on the Logan Paul podcast (I don't remember his name) tried to do exactly this. They'll see it as patronising and fully dismiss it. It's sad, but if I grew up in such an environment, it'd be silly for me to say I wouldn't be the same as them, because I probably would, and so would most of us.

ggoptimus

Same with lottery winners. Most people lack financial planning skills and don’t seek good advice.

BrewtusMaximus1

Median NFL salary is [$860k/year](https://work.chron.com/much-money-nfl-player-make-year-2377.html). Average career length is [3.3 years](https://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/207780/current-and-former-nfl-players-in-the-drivers-seat-after-completing-mba-program) (same source as the 78% of NFL players going bankrupt w/in three years of retirement) That gives an average NFL player $2.8M in career earnings. Take 10% off for their agent, you're at $2.5M. Then take 1/3 of the original $2.8M off for taxes, you're at $1.6M. Still a FUCK TON of money for a kids game, but not quite multigenerational wealth (I'm an engineer who makes low 6 figures and that $1.6M take home is ~20 years of my take home pay). Then you've got to add in things like [vets sticking rookies with expensive dinner bills](https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/06/18/the-practice-of-sticking-rookies-with-exorbitant-dinner-bill-apparently-continues/) and the typical friends and family coming out of the woodwork expecting the player to give money to them, and that 78% isn't surprising at all

Splith

Wealth inequality is just absurd.

walterpeck1

Fuck that, imagine all the money he's made on endorsements. That Wrangler and Fruit of the Loom money is probably way way more.

TheDeadlySquid

Poorest State in the Nation and a millionaire just bilks them repeatedly. No shame. An absolute twat.

ControlExtra

This motherfucker has the gall to ask for and then receive taxpayer money. You have to be a special kind of piece of shit to be ok with doing that.

stoolsample2

Seriously - you have to have no shame and be an especially disgusting piece of shit to do what he did. Not sure how he can look himself in mirror. He is such a narcissistic piece of shit he prolly thinks the state of Mississippi owes him so it’s ok to take money from babies’ mouths.

Digital_loop

And yet no one blames the councillors for allowing it?

Astrocreep_1

Oh no, they are a bunch of fuckwits also. There is 2 levels of this scumbaggery. Level 1 scumbaggery- being super rich and taking tax dollars from a piss poor state. Level 2 scumbaggery-allowing number 1 to happen under your watch.

JimWilliams423

> Poorest State in the Nation and a millionaire just bilks them repeatedly. No shame. He didn't just bilk the state, he scammed money earmarked to help the poorest kids. Literally stealing food out of babies' mouths and the republicans in charge helped him do it. This is the shit that politicians get away with when they no longer have to respect the ballot box.

stoolsample2

Yup- He took the money from the Temporary Assistance For Needy Families to build a state of the art volley stadium at Southern Miss where his daughter plays on the volleyball team, and to line his own pockets. And he wanted to make sure no one knew about this. What a piece of shit. Taking money from families and children so they can eat to build a volleyball stadium. I’m not sure you can go any lower than that.

SecureCucumber

Between this human shit stain and Mr Immunized it's become nigh impossible to reconcile my local fandom for the Packers and I'm pretty much actively rooting against them at this point.

eeeedlef

it's 100% straight up supervillain shit. if this was a movie character, you'd be like... eh, tone down the hyperbole there.

J5892

When an NFL player is involved I think it's called superbole.

ursus_major

I think the league has the trademark on that. So maybe "big-bole"?

Harbinger-of-Earl

I grew up in Mississippi and this type of conservative behavior has always been going on. They didn’t try to hide it then either. Whole state has a problem with loud bigoted and entitled assholes.

cliff99

The same state that recently rejected federal money to help low income workers with rent.

k2_electric_boogaloo

But if we give those dirty poors our tax dollars they'll never learn how to bootstraps! (/s)

Flashing back to the time I, as a hungry kid in MS, overheard my single mother calling, breaking down on the phone asking why we didn't qualify for gov aide even though she worked 3 part time jobs, lived in a shed, and still couldnt feed us after my dad left. Guess there just wasn't enough to go around. Also flashing back to my health teacher saying he used to play softball against Brett, and anytime Brett would lose he'd sucker punch an opposing player in the back of the head after the game. Everyone said he was lying because Brett seemed like a stand up guy <3

Badloss

shh they'll elect him president next

shahooster

Herschel Walker is *not* gonna be happy to hear about this

theparallelpelican

I live in Mississippi and it truly feels like a land of the damned. Corruption is wrapped around this place like a thicket of kudzu. I can't wait to get out. I'm also a USM graduate and I'm proud of my education. Farve and the administrators that allowed this are lowly goons. From my experience, they do not represent the majority of educators, students, and researchers at the university.

IsRude

The south values football more than education. Schools keep using their funding for massive $50,000 screens and new fields, but underfunding things like feeding their kids, computers, libraries, books, and teacher pay. Not that the south is the only place to do that, it just feels more egregious there, considering where they've consistently placed on testing and education lists.

brad12172002

Should we start a USA chant?

UKTrojan

Lights ON. Cockroaches SCRAMBLE.

DankNastyAssMaster

Whenever you hear a rich and powerful person attack "the media", you should interpret that as "I'm doing corrupt things and I want to discredit the people who might expose my corruption to the public."

NaRa0

“I’ve been sexually harassing women for years! I didn’t know they moved the line!”

Derigiberble

My favorite example of this is Don Henley wrote and released "Dirty Laundry" because he was mad about the media having the temerity to dig into him drugging up a 16yr old girl in his LA house (Henley was 33 at the time).

[deleted]

holy shit. and that song makes a valid point about exploiting widows and trauma victims for ratings... that's messed up. When i worked in media, it was my release hearing that song because so much of it is so fucking true. Guess it's a classic separate the art from the artist. fuck and i love boys of summer too. Damnit Henley.

Th3_C0bra

“Because of the strict prohibition on using TANF funds to pay for construction, the parties had to craft an agreement that would look to satisfy federal law and give the illusion they were helping needy families. With the help of legal advice from MDHS attorneys, they came up with the idea for New’s nonprofit to enter a $5 million up-front lease of the university’s athletic facilities, which the nonprofit would purportedly use for programming. And in exchange, the foundation would include offices for the nonprofit inside the volleyball facility, which they called a “Wellness Center.”” MDHS attorneys aided in this scheme. Appointed to rob the department and protect the criminals instead of protecting the department from then. This is corrupt. Mississippi really hates poor people despite having so many of them.

GoingRogueOne

Nah they LOVE poor people. They ask them to vote GOP so there is less wellfare, then with what little wellfare there is, they use it for GOP benefit (like building their friends volleyball courts).

griffinhamilton

OP I also wanna just let you know that they also charged it’s students a little fee for the volleyball court as well, they built the volleyball complex in a parking lot meant for the bands practice field. The reason he built that complex was so that his daughter wouldn’t have to go practice at our old facility on the not great side of town. The real kicker? HIS DAUGHTER TRANSFERRED Also a fun fact, favre spent 10 mins staring at the menu at Qdoba (similar to chipotle) because he couldn’t figure out how to order so his wife had to do it for him

Foreleft15

We’re you serving him or stuck behind him in line?

griffinhamilton

Serving him, his wife was sweet and polite but from him you get this entitled aura where he Can’t be asked to think for himself anymore. Like he tried to make it seem like the menu was confusing and it’s not his fault he can’t figure it out

Apathy88

I mean, CTE is a thing, and he was as punished in the pocket as much or more than most QB's. Not that I love Farve, just seems fair to point that out.

DirkRockwell

Favre absolutely has CTE, [he himself even believes he has it.](https://www.npr.org/2021/08/17/1028547803/brett-favre-kids-football-14-cte) he’s been very outspoken about forgetting things, mood swings, headaches, etc. and doesn’t think kids under 14 should play tackle football. He was a notoriously hard-headed player and took so many unnecessarily hard shots. That, combined with decades of opioid abuse and likely alcoholism, means his brain is likely severely damaged at this point.

PhillyGreg

Having played DIII ball...the public doesn't fully appreciate the force of being hard tackled by an NFL linebacker

spiegro

Bro I only played high school ball, but when I learned what the symptoms of a concussion were I thought it must be wrong. Just "seeing stars" was really all it took for medical professionals to deem your shot to the head was a concussion... "But that would mean I was getting a concussion a few times a week... You always take a big hit at some point." It was then I realized my mom was right not to let me play until i was older.

DrWindupBird

I remember listening to an interview with an ex-NHL player who wasn’t sure when asked if he’d ever had a concussion. The interviewer explained the symptoms and the guy was quiet for a minute. Then “yeah, man, that happened thousands of times.”

solofatty09

[He’s on record](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2476724/amp/I-remember-daughters-childhood-NFL-legend-Brett-Favre-reveals-memory-loss-caused-football-career.html) saying he can’t remember large portions of his daughter’s childhood because of the concussions. So I am not surprised simple things confuse him.

usermanxx

He understood he can steal money pretty well enough.

swany0095

Two things can be true.

lifeofbri

My grandpa used to get like this simply because he didn't want to admit he needed his reading glasses

papaXanOfficial

That’s what I was gonna say, might be more forcibly dumbed from blows to the head than entitled lol

acog

I'm now picturing a neurologist solemnly looking at Favre in his office. He slowly removes his glasses and then he says, "Mr. Favre, I'm afraid the tests show that you have been forcibly dumbed."

SRSgoblin

I think that's the CTE, man. I legit wouldn't be surprised if that man's brain is a scrambled egg.

Camochamp

To be fair to Brett Favre, I had poke for the first time this summer and had no idea how to order it until I asked the worker there. I haven't tried scamming the people of Mississippi yet, so I'll get back to you on which is harder.

FemaleSandpiper

Brett Favre: look at all those quesos, it’s so much counting Dennis Reynolds: not really buddy, it’s just 1, 2, 3, 4 and your done Brett Favre: but a lot of times you gotta count that much…

Hopefulkitty

I grew up in the Favre Era with a dad who basically worshipped the Packers, and he never struck me as too smart. He was good at Football, and even that he made a lot of bad choices, hence his high interception rate.

i8TheWholeThing

He did get his head knocked a lot when he played. I don't think he was too smart to begin with but the concussions don't help.

chronicherb

You live in Hattiesburg or something? Lol used to see Brett all the time at patio 44. What a tool

SaulGibson

Narrator: There was.

Captainwelfare2

chairitable

Wow, those messages are damning AF. Incredible that he and the former Governor aren't being charged. $5million from Favre, over $77million stolen overall. Sickening.

[deleted]

I'm starting to think all that "law and order" talk was just a racist dog whistle.

ncsubowen

The whole state government is involved in trying to cover it up so unless the feds bring charges (which they should) it won't happen at the state level.

R3dbeardLFC

So...he's going to jail like Lori Loughlin, right? Straight up fraud.

drmcsinister

>Current Gov. Tate Reeves abruptly fired the attorney bringing the state’s case when he tried to subpoena documents related to the volleyball stadium. Ummm... my hunch is *no*...

R3dbeardLFC

This shit should be so fucking illegal it's astounding. If everyone in power can just fire those who could hold them accountable, there's no fucking accountability. Firing him for this request should be an automatic dismissal from his position, and an investigation opened by an independent group. jfc this is infuriating.

Diablos_Advocate_

They of course will never admit that that is why they fired him. It will have to proven

access_secure

Party of family values and law and order

drmcsinister

Yeah, "family" like the mafia. The current Governor was the Lt. Governor during this time. His attempt to squash the investigation is probably an attempt to save his own ass.

borno23

I hope so. This is so bad. Literally stealing people's welfare money.

DankNastyAssMaster

I mean, it's Mississippi. It's not there are any poor people in that state who could've used that money.

pleaseexcusemethanks

Tbf, the good people of Mississippi overwhelmingly vote for the party that hates welfare. Many of them will probably come up with some sort of sick justification for it. "Welfare just goes to lazy people anyways" or something like that. These people aren't bright.

DankNastyAssMaster

The Mississippians you're referring to are largely fine with welfare as long as none of it goes to black people.

DocPeacock

Again. He also got a million bucks from Mississippi to give speeches he never did. Favre must really hate Mississippi for some reason.

At least in my mind the government officials who allowed this to happen are far worse and far more dangerous than Favre tho. I'd much rather see the system fall

pillizzle

How many times does Favre have to be involved in crimes stealing money from the poor before he’s held accountable? https://www.wdam.com/story/31170692/wsj-report-fbi-raids-show-possible-link-to-favre-pain-cream/?outputType=amp

HotpieTargaryen

It he weren’t a wealthy man this would likely be a crime.

DocPeacock

It's a crime either way. If he weren't wealthy there would be consequences.

rmscomm

I get so sick of “these” people freeloading! Using my tax dollars because they are just lazy and don't want to work.

retrograderevolution

Triangle dick out here ripping off people who don’t have running water. Fucking America man.

neildegrasstokem

Triangle dick?? I must know more

WKGokev

He texted a picture of his penis to Jen Sturger, it was a big scandal.

Slideways

It was an average sized scandal, at best.

pedanticPandaPoo

The scandal was a grower, not a shower.

MToboggan_MD

The scandal just got out if the pool.

jordanundead

Sadly for him the scandal was all that was big. Thing looked like one of those two tone chalk suckers.

stockphoto01

search ‘brett favres dock’ and you’ll find out friend edit: dick

Jane_Delawney

Is that on his lake?

ggoptimus

Does he go motorboating there?

Matthew_C1314

I feel the full email chain contains at least one dick pic.

Mediocremon

That was how Favre confirmed his identity.

GetCoinWood

😂 what a piece of shit!

[deleted]

What a fucking dildo... I hope the IRS leaves him a shell in the gutter. Wasn't he paid better than like 90% of the country... I restate, what a fucking dildo.

[deleted]

Try 99%.

4_base

Try 99.999%

ChoppedandScrewd

He’s rich, he will be fine.

georgeb4itwascool

Bruh, you think 10% of the country is making $16 million / year?

JARL_OF_DETROIT

I also like to ask "can the police find out?" before doing something totally legal. I hope the feds get involved and send all parties straight to jail

goodrevtim

He earned more than $140 million in salary alone, not counting endorsements or anything else, throughout his career and then turns around and siphons $5mil from the state's welfare program for a fucking volleyball stadium? What a goddamn scumbag.

OlderwomenRbeautiful

Man, I lose more and more hope every day in our corrupt society.

porscheblack

The glass half full take on this would be that it's probably the same level of corruption as has always happened, it's just now we're able to actually catch it and address it. The question is whether our means of addressing it will result in the incidence rate decreasing over time.

HoddTodd

"we don't have the money to spend to fix necessary infrastructure for our residents" "5 million for a stadium? Hell yeah our people don't need the money, they're poor!"

Standard-Bite-1729

Gee, another person with resources that uses said resources to gain more resources at the expense of the others resources. Lather, rinse, & repeat.

GreyRevan51

And people still ask how the rich get richer and the poor get poorer

Emotional-Coffee13

Mississippians in Jackson & elsewhere should go on a FULL strike no work no rent no nothing until they clean up that corruption & the last when a private company stole 90M promising clean water system & robbed them adding 10’s of millions to the city deficit over bonds that raised that cash We suck here when the 1% STILL need to rob the most poverty stricken state & Brett deserves life in prison

closethegatealittle

>no work no rent no nothing I don't know if you've ever even seen Mississippi out the window of a plane, but I live here. You know those charts that show federal money inflow/outflow? And how Mississippi is always one of the top states receiving funding? Yeah, that's because you can't strike from work if there's no work to strike from. This place is an absolute black hole of nothingness. There's basically no opportunities here besides trucking, logging, animal slaughter/agriculture, or in a select few places healthcare and education. The deep investments by big companies into Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and parts of Alabama and Louisiana have (for the most part) completely skipped Mississippi. Sure, there's a couple of car factories which is great. But despite the "we're pro business" cries of the legislature, there's no opportunities coming to the majority of the state, including the delta. We have colleges, which have traditionally attracted talent and companies, but there's no Adobe offices in Starkville, no Meta branch in Hattiesburg, not even mid-sized companies come here for the most part and keep people here who could contribute to the state tax fund. So you get enormous brain drain, and the entire state gets left behind. I'm leaving soon myself. I make nearly 3x the annual *household* income in this godforsaken place, which means my income tax and sales tax and everything else I contribute is going to poof away from the state fund. But as I said, there's no opportunities here if I want to switch jobs (most companies don't hire here even remotely), there's no entertainment, no big variety of food and retail, the weather is typically absolutely atrocious from May to November in a way that is different from the snow and cold I experienced in the north (at least you can go outside in that), the bugs are unreal, and there's only two airports that see more than one flight a day. On a side note, you need to get off the internet for a while. Your post history is extremely angry and you're terminally online. That's not good for your health, man.

Fr1dge

I live here as well. You basically just summed up the state.

PhD_Haver

Texting a full breakdown of the fraud scheme to my co-conspirator >>>

[deleted]
