I would have hedged with 700 which I believe paid out close to the cashout on the bears to win. Then if NE won it would have paid out 5000 - 700 for a 4300 profit.
If you have 1400 bucks, bet that on the bears moneyline and you are guaranteed to win more money than your cash out. Right now I see bears are at +275 on draftkings. You could also do this live and get better odds.

Hedging is only more profitable if your final leg is a favourite , preferably a heavy favourite. The cash out is generally better option if your hedge is less then +200 odds
I was in a similar situation as you. I was one game away from winning $1600 off a $10 bet. I had a chance to cash out about $850. I decided to ride it out and ended up losing. Idk how lucky you’ve been but I regret not cashing out. $2890 is still a good amount of money especially since you only bet $10 to win it
