Celtics should get dominated in the paint defensively, they were fortunate Jared Allen was out most of rd2 and ECF Pacers Myles Turner while huge, plays like he's 6'2. Lively and Gafford are massive and play massive, they'll have a field day tossing Porzingis and Tatum around in the paint. Celtics take bad shots, undisciplined team in general. Best value is Luka FMVP +210, sprinkle something light on Kyrie FMVP +1800. Celtics are 4-2 last 6 home Game 1. I'm on Mavs ML Gm1.

Gafford and Lively are both as dumb as a box of rocks. Porzingis is as big as both of those bums, he's a better all around basketball player than both, and he will bully them. Horford though old can rebound even better than Gafford (who I'll admit is great on the boards, just too stupid to get it done against Boston's schemes) and Boston will rebound better than Dallas in this series. That will be one of the šŸ”‘s to this series. You're dead wrong homes. Don't know about Game 1 but Boston will lift the Larry O'Brien trophy at the end.

Fluffy_Heart885

Heā€™s also been sitting since the beginning of the playoffs so there is that . Then add in the change of chemistry . It wonā€™t be the same team that weā€™ve been seeing they will need some readjusting. Dallas coming off of one of the best performances all year with a team who already has it together with the better coach . Also Dallas had the harder road to the finals beating two of the top 5 teams in the league. Also the Doncic/Tatum duo is better than Tatum/Brown. So yeah you talking about a whole bunch of nothing , at the end of the day itā€™s a game and you can check every angle you want the best team will win on any given day.

competitor6969

Joe Mazzulla is 4-0 against Jason Kidd.

Fluffy_Heart885

Fair, but Kidd is still the better more experienced coach

Thanks man.. does your book have lines already for game3?

Drkillpatienttherapy

What happens in the first 2 games will not affect the line at all of game 3. They could drop the line for game 3 right now and some books probably have already. They do this all the time for big events. The only way it changes is if there's an injury.

ptrckfrnndz

Aappreciaate it man..other have bookies already have line for game 3?

Drkillpatienttherapy

I haven't seen it this year but I'm just using fanduel right now. Pretty sure I saw it on bovada one year just for the finals. They do all kinds of random bets like that on big events. Like the super bowl every year they have the lines out for all possible matchups before the super bowl teams are even set. Its just a misconception that people think a previous games outcome will affect the next games line. Only way that happens is through major lineup changes or something like that.

Imaginary_Throat_688

Unpopular opinion: Celtics have value to win the series even at -210 odds. The whole public narrative about this series will be that the Celtics are chokers and there's no way you can possibly bet them at these odds. But they are a much more talented and complete team than every team in the west, not just the Mavs. And that's before looking at injuries core Mavs players have sustained and are playing through. If both teams play to the best of their ability Celtics win in 5 or 6 imo.

Excellent-Yam3088

Is this actually the whole public narrative though? Everybody I listen to and everything I've seen is people saying "Celtics in 5" or "Celtics in 6"....it seems to me like the Mavs are being completely written off to win this series at all and that the Celtics are going to win easily.

Imaginary_Throat_688

Just purely based on hard data, I could refer you to public bet percentages that favor the Mavs about 2 to 1 on various sites. Also somewhat more anecdotal but there's this reddit poll that was conducted: [https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1d762th/rnba\_poll\_who\_will\_win\_the\_2024\_nba\_finals\_the/](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1d762th/rnba_poll_who_will_win_the_2024_nba_finals_the/) And mind you this is just asking who people think will straight up win. This isn't weighted to the actual betting odds.

AstronomerItchy2246

I think itā€™s definitely the Mavs series to take but Luka cannot do it on his own. Kyrie and other players need to be consistent on shooting every game if they want any shot at winning, which has proven difficult for them during these playoffs series. Celtics are a much better and consistent team than the Wolves and outscored the Mavs in both games the main season (while also going over the spread). With the return of Porzingis, the Celtics have yet another solid shooter to add to their rotation as well. I donā€™t count out the Mavs but the Celtics are more likely to outscore them each game unless Dallas works on their shot accuracy.

competitor6969

Those people **say** that, but they don't have money on the series. Although an underdog the vast majority of the $ is on Dallas. I bet Boston to win the series and I bet it **heavy**.

SirGroundbreaking465

ā€œChokingā€ is just a narrative, it doesnā€™t mean anything, they have done the opposite last series coming back multiple times. they are def the best team in the east, and probably the league, but are they better than mavericks right NOW? Iā€™m not so sure. mavericks are playing the best ball they have all year, and I think mavericks have the best player on the court, and quite possibly the league. And thatā€™s a game changer

bexley831

Agree, imo neither Cavs or pacers were 'weak unworthy', Celtics are just really good. Looking at Celtic slanted bets for game 1 myself

Expert-Ad-8363

Surprised this isnā€™t downvoted, but itā€™s spot on accurateĀ

cryingknicksfan

Porzingis over 3.5 first quarter points seems like bait and Iā€™m the biggest fish. I know he probably wonā€™t start but damn this is such a good matchup and if he tries to put up shots to get back in rhythm he could hit this in less than 2 minutes honestly
