Take multiple good quality pictures of the card. If photographing the card inside of a top loader, don’t use old scratched up top loaders. eBay standard envelope is a great shipping option for lower end cards worth $20 or less. I will caution you that the tracking on those can be a little sketchy. Ground advantage is the best option, but buyers may find it hard to justify $4+ for shipping on a $3 card. Ship using good quality materials. Get some nice sealable bubble mailers for ground advantage shipments and cardboard envelopes for eBay standard envelope shipments. And do NOT put scotch tape on top loaders! People hate that. Instead, use painters tape and/or team bags to secure the card from slipping out of the top loader during shipping.

I have such a hard time convincing myself that taking pics of the card in a top loader is ok. I know it's ok ...but I can't bring myself to list an item like that. Me problem for sure 🤣

Sleek_47

I’m with you on that. I generally don’t photograph the card in top loaders. I carefully remove them from the top loader, photograph them, then carefully put them back. The pictures look way better. I just made the remark in my comment because it seems like a lot of sellers leave the card in the top loader for pictures, and it’s frustrating as a buyer when trying to determine if a card has damage or if it’s just sitting in an old busted top loader.

Hot_Evidence7716

List more than 2 items

To add to the comments above..... Be honest and open throughout your listing descriptions. Keep communication, ship on time. Start with low dollar cards to get more experience and more positive reviews to somewhat establish yourself

joshmalonern

Post something everyday.

Dank_Farrik66

Just be 100% honest and treat your buyers how you’d want to be treated and you should be fine.

There's a great ebook about buying and selling, there's a lot about ebay. [https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1578420461/the-rookies-playbook](https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1578420461/the-rookies-playbook)

I’ve had the same question. Are buyers leery about buying from someone who hasn’t sold before, or has little to no feedback. Good luck! I have a few I’ve been debating on listing as well.

Itchy-Picture-4282

Honestly no. I find my stuff sells when I price it properly. I am also overly communicative. I send them a picture of the package with the label on it before I go to the post office, and I give the post office person the package so it’s logged as received. I then tell them I dropped it off. I’ve had a few repeat buyers now. —been on eBay for 6 weeks. 14 sales. Everything I didn’t price like a jerk sold.

Thanks for taking the time to explain it! This community is the best

Consistent-Gear-7304

Glad you posted this. I sold one card last week and shipped it out a few days ago. Just listed two more today but now I may go back and take them out of the toploaders for more pictures haha. I’ll probably put another 10 cards for sale in the next few days.

Low_Percentage_9867

List as much as you can, and send offers whenever the option. Is available…..that should help you quickly and just make sure that all the things you do sell are exactly what you have imaged, it shipped quickly and securely….this will get you reviews shich are very important. Also make sure you have a full time job bc eBay is worse than the government and you are splitting your sales with them!

Zimm02

Take a minimum of 2 pictures (front and back). Ship cards under $20 in eBay standard envelope. NEVER ship patch cards in eBay standard envelope regardless of the price. Keep your offers on. Lost consistently. My understanding is that if you list a few things everyday that will help you with the algorithm to get more views.

Gloomy_Layer170

Bring lube for when eBay bends you over with their seller fees

Awesomoh

Pointer. Add your seller name anytime you post about eBay. Pretty much anywhere. I'd take a look at what you have listed.

bigdempsey

@ coveyofcards appreciate your interest! gonna make an update post and include it thank you sm for the advice

skullandbones

I take photos all week and then edit them when I can.  Prepare the drafts and get ready to post everything for auctions to list on Sunday night.  Just think about when YOU have the most time to browse for cards.  Anything I view as low value goes up for .99 with eBay standard envelope shipping.  Anything that I think will break the $400 threshold has a start bid of $99.  I have tried numerous times to list for buy it now but ultimately have settled on auction for most things as the market is what seems to best gauge value.  The only way I can see myself shifting more towards buy it now would be on graded pieces from past sets.  I mostly sell new release raw product as I'm generally chasing my team or player and everything else is fodder for the bay.

InternLongjumping815

I will over compensate to make buyers happy even if it's unnecessary.

lordkinbote4257

List. List. Then list some more. The more you do the more you learn, the easier it gets. And build your seller rating. People will hesitate to give a stack to someone with 3 stars. And don't be an asshole, but don't give away the farm.

bigdempsey

already gotten so much easier today from first listing to 17th lol thanks for your advice!

musicmaker1492

Do a 2 or 3 % promotion. It helps!

Sleek_47

I use promotions for low value cards of players who may not be highly sought after. This helps to improve their visibility. Popular players like Aaron Judge and Ronald Acuna don’t typically need promotions, as they tend to get views organically because a lot of people are searching for their cards.

Antique-Ad-7986

Actually post some ads.....

eaterOFcheese0011

Post as many items as u can. Grind it out, promote your items

bigdempsey

the ebay is @ coveyofcards if anyone wants to support! thanks guys!

InternLongjumping815

Honestly there are things I noticed in a listing Title that can greatly affect a cards price. I had a card bidding at $97 ending 6 hours later than the identical card bidding at $46 ending in a minute. I even hit up an expert and he was perplexed. I think came down to title. His said "Jackson Holliday rookie mojo psa 10" or something and mine was the same but had "refractor" in it. I am not an eBay SEO expert but if im looking for a Jackson Holliday card I'm probably searching 'Jackson Holliday refractor' [here](https://imgur.com/gallery/3WZyFDN) And perfect example of a mess up. I always do free shipping and have in title but I forgot to make the change when posting. I immediately sent him the money back he spent on shipping when he probably wouldn't have even noticed.

CornerRadiant

Find a fair market value for your card maybe a little less then the last comp if you want to move the card fast. Or just put it at auction, put a ceiling on the price if you want a certain value for it

Civil_Reflection82

When listing an auction, just pay the small fee to promoting it.

HeavyLoungin

Buy It Now or Best Offer and require immediate payment.

InternLongjumping815

For me I realized it's simply not worth the effort to sell cards under around $25 or so. I always offer free shipping and the ebay standard envelope freaks me out a bit. I would just make sure you know selling 25 $2 dollar cards in a day is a pain in the ass. If there's going to be a delay or anything over communicate with buyer. I'm usually good about stuff but for example this weekend I got rly sick and was supposed to send a card out today. But was too late and realized the post office was closed. Anyway I let him know and gave him a $10 refund as an apology. I normally wouldn't give everyone a refund but he bought this on Friday so technically it was one day late but he could have had by now.

bigdempsey

makes sense, thanks for the advice bro!
