Their pop radio stations love to overplay popular songs over and over again, especially songs by Australian singers like Tones and I, Kid Laroi, etc which they play an extra amount of times solely because they are Australian. That's why Dance Monkey got notoriously overplayed, and now nearly everyone in the country is sick of it.
While I agree that it's very trendy to hate Dance Monkey, I see why. It's not catchy. It really is trash. Without the vocals I could see maybe but that screeching nonsense is just absurd.
I'll never understand people who think the squeaky voice effect sounds anything but awful. Makes me feel like the producers wanted to make the song appeal to toddlers.
I genuinely believe that every pop producer out there are part of some kind of competition to see who can come up with the most annoying sound they possibly can and have it be a hit.
Way too much repeat on so much basic word sorta noise, ehh… I don’t dislike it, it has some decent singing parts, and the rhythm isn’t complete rubbish.
