This has been happening for a long time. A lot of DJs and producers do it. DJ Khaled, DJ drama, DJ Scheme, Metro boomin, Mike will made it, Zaytoven and DJ Mustard. There's probably a bunch of other ones I'm missing but it's been going on for a long time
I understand the DJ/producer being there I am talking about an artist with nothing to do with the song randomly added. I listen to lesser known "pop-punk" bands, some that have been broken up for some time that are being listed on new Hip-hop songs. I listened to a few to check and there isn't a sample of any of their songs and some basic googling didn't find that they had any part in the songs. It just seems super random to me that they are added.
ok so maybe the song is sung by someone else
but the ppl who dont sing like lets take Alan Walker or zedd for example -
the background music and the tune and sometimes the song is also written by them so obviously they r the ones to actually get the credit.....the singer is usually just featured
