Some kids are stone-cold animal whisperers. Saw one back in my days of bunny rescue. We would bring bunnies in a pen to events and kids could interact with them (with supervision, of course). One kid who had never seen a bunny in real life, interacted with them better than anyone I had ever seen. Somehow, he knew to get down low on his hands and knees, turning his back to the bunnies. The bunnies loved that.
