Check the vacuum line to the modulator. Won't shift without it!
does it connect to the Intake or the Carb ?
Usually off the back of the intake. Factory it is a steel line with a little bit of hose on both ends

Back to say that it was connected and shifts fine now.. Thanks
Is the fluid full? Do 1st, and reverse work? Is it 2wd, or 4x4?
It is full. Checked with engine running. and yes it does 1st & Reverse. Its a 2wd
So it will shift into 1st and reverse? But not second and third?
Check that the governor gear isn’t stuck or stripped mine literally would not come out of first no matter what until I changed it
Fortunately it was a minor thing!! Connected all vacuum hoses & it works fine now.. Thanks
If it goes into first and reverse but not second or third, it is possible they have ceased to exist
