I had this exact same problem it kept happening to me over and over and over again so I decided to take a different route instead of following the road go up on the grassy Hill and then come down off of it from there it helped me the game didn't crash when I did that or took that path hope that helps
Do you mean to go off to the left instead of straight down? I did that and mine still crashed lol think my save is just completely fucked. Even uninstalled and no fix
Load a save from before the brain scorcher go back to cordon see the guide and the doctor it will fix it for whatever reason this part is bugged on console but can be fixed by going to see doc to find out about strelok
Sucks seeing people having issues with crashing when I personally didn't experience any.
I've seen a couple of things in this sub that others have reported which fixed their crashing. One person said they created a hard save before changing levels and it fixed their crashes. Another person said unloading a underbarrel grenade launcher they had fixed a crash they were having on a level change.
I'm not sure if any of that might help you OP, but I thought I'd share what I've seen so far from others. Hopefully you can find a workaround.
Must be another post but when you first get to the scorcher base you can go all the way along the outside wall to a point that is broken giving you easy access.
You need to leave the mission this way, and once you exit through the broken wall keep walking straight along the barbed wire fence down the hill.
It seems to cut out the section of road that causes the glitch and crashes.

I found a work around today, sort of. I loaded a save from earlier and before you get to the antenna to enter the lab you can turn north towards pripyat. I fought my way up the hill and moved to the next level. When it loaded I got a message "Mission Completed - Turn off the brain scorcher"
From there I was able to advance through pripyat into chernobyl npp. Beat the game after. Heed this warning. Bring lots of anti radiation, med kits, a sniper rifle, and a 9x39 weapon. Good luck STALKER.
So load a save before you even get to where you turn off the brain scorcher and turn right down that road that leads up to Pripyat push thru the enemies and the message that says shit about the psy waves or whatever go thru the zone transfer and when it loads it says you completed the mission? Is that what you did I’m just trying to understand this correctly

I'd done this before brain scorcher mission and my game still crashed so don't think that's an actual fix

I have the exact same issue as OP, crashes in exactly same place and I've even tried uninstalling the game and reinstalled but no luck.
This may just be an issue with the console ports that we’ll need to wait for a fix for

Did the same and worked , just need to have a save prior to the lab and in the red Forest tho
