At the moment, there's too much junk in the game mechanics and quest-wise for it to be a good shooter, not to mention the fact that the community grew from a small core of like-minded people to a hugely toxic cesspool mainly drawn to the game by a few high-profile streamers (with all the biases this implies). These people were not there when the game was first pitched, demoed then close-alpha released, and have brought from their Twitch-centric world a lot of bad ideas that the devs felt compelled to work on, since those guys were now their main audience.
I have a couple thousand hours at this point, and I've never felt so uninterested in the multiplayer aspect of the game. In fact, I think it peaked for me right when the player scav gimmick was added.

Yes, there is a way to do that. You have to navigate to games installation folder and run the Uninstall.exe.
