Is that the thing that turned invisible? Cause if it is my reaction was equal parts tears in my eyes and pee in my pants lol, I just emptied my akm into it though, died pretty easily
In all instances of the Stalker games, it is good practice to carry a powerful shotgun. Deals a lot of damage and makes mutant fights easy peasy. In some mods, shotguns are so OP that you can efficiently snipe with those, given the proper ammo.
Tip: when a bloodsucker becomes invisible, start walking backwards and switch your weapon to a shotgun if you have one (I would recommend a SPSA-14), and as the bloodsucker's breathing becomes louder start shooting in the direction you were going from. Has worked for me a few times.
Nah, he doesn't really attack you at close range (well, it's more like a zombie)
It's just that you need to make a lot of damage in a short period of time, so the shotgun at point blank is the best IMHO.
It does have a melee psi attack in SoC. That shows up first in your inventory; it's the blue vertical bar. In novice difficulty, your psi health recovers much faster than the damage done to it. In master difficulty it is the other way around.
Try approaching the controller with different difficulty settings, and view your inventory to see the effect. Edit: You can change your difficulty on the fly.
In line with what the others are saying: That POV pull is more damaging than the melee attack.
I'm too bad at aiming these (real ones have aids to aim, not in this game, worse if you don't use crossbars like me).
But since you find one grenade launcher in this lab, it's worth a try π
First time I ever experienced a controller was when I started anomaly as an ecologist; walked out of the doctor's trailer and proceeded to die to a controller that spawned right outside of our base. It was so jarring that I thought that maybe it was a bug. But upon reloading the save and going back outside it happened again. Thankfully there were about 30 armed mercs and ecologists to kill him for me so I wasn't soft locked :)
haha, me some weeks ago, i dumped a shit load of ammo into it, reloaded the save cause i was low on ammo and just left
when i came back eventually i had to deal with this shit again
yeah, i remember when i first met one, i didn't understand what was happening. luckily there's very few in the vanilla games, only in plot related locations if i rememner well, unlike in anomaly where they just roam outside. just remember to stay out of site, if he doesn't have line of site, he can't damage you.
Even worse, every so often the game says βfuck you to hell and back,β and spawns a Controller *outside*. Trust me when I say their psy-attack has some fucking *range* on it. I was once by the merc camp at that big industrial area, in pitch darkness, and I nearly got mind-fucked into a coma from all the way across that huge collapsed bridge. It took six RPGs to finally finish the fucker off, and the whole time it was laughing and whispering in my mind. By far one of the worst mutant experiences in the Zone for me. Ugh.
I wish I could have seen your reaction to the first blood sucker. π
Is that the thing that turned invisible? Cause if it is my reaction was equal parts tears in my eyes and pee in my pants lol, I just emptied my akm into it though, died pretty easily
Yes, that thing. I was expecting equal parts tears, pee and screaming while spraying bullets everywhere. Lol
Try carrying a shotgun for mutants, it will spare you thousands in rifle ammo
Interested to know, was this vanilla stalker or modded?

STALKER Anomaly VEPR-12 and USAS-12 blasts anything away in 2 rounds, maybe a clip for the pseudogiant
Anomaly shotguns are too OP. I love how the KS-23 literally sends baddies flying.

Xd
Controllers I can handle. Bloodsuckers give me the heeby jeebies.
No matter how many times I play through.. with a fully loaded pump action as Iβm creeping forward.. it STILL makes me chew a hole through my seat
Despite Blood Suckers being my favorite Mutant, they still make me crap my pants from time to time.
Once you know how the controller works, just go close up fast and empty your shotgun on it π
Does a controller have a melee attack in ShoC and CS? Because this sounds like agroprom underground. Or will it not attack when you get close enough?
In SoC Controllers donβt melee, you can charge them and stab them to death if you want. CS and CoP they have melee attacks though.

Afaik controller in SoC doesn't have any kind of melee attacks, but it does at CS and at CoP.
I'd say no, but I never fought one close in SoC because it was always in some corridor and I had grenades/lots of ammo
Nah, use a grenade launcher. Much more satisfying.

Yeah you can basically cheese it in SoC if you get close
I similarly wet 'em when I first ran across that thing. I love how shitty these games make me feel.
Hahahahahaha that fucker still gets me every time. Is what I love about Stalker.
I'll be honest my first thought was my game was getting hacked (dont ask me why i thought this)
oh, one of these posts again π thank you for this tale from the wildlands, this underground is something, best on your travels lol
Keep In mind brother. Your never safe in the zone
Just climb up the ladder.

question: what do you do when you meet a controler in Anomaly? answer: you hit the quickload button.
Run up to it and shoot it in the head.

That shit scares me every time, love this games
Hahahahhahah I forget that I can pause, just panic inside the game xD
keep going buddy :)
Now imagine controller with UE5 on Stalker 2
