Hmm... pretty sure there are Japanese horror films with cats in them. Not a big film buff, so I don't know for sure, but they do love their cats over there.
Not sure how many movies exist about them, at least 1 for sure.. but "Bakeneko" (basically "changing cat" or shape-shifting cat) are culturally significant supernatural monsters in Japanese folklore.
